Thanks for the tag. I’ll repost my post from the last messages on the last thread:

I’ve been for a Doppler scan this morning (22+2) and been told my results are abnormal and therefore I’ll have scans from 28 weeks as I’m at risk of pre eclampsia and IUGR.

I’ve asked my midwife for the readings as they’ve not published them on Badger Notes, (only that baby is transverse) but I recall the left being 1.79 I think.

Has anyone had this in their previous pregnancies and all been fine? I’ve read both sides of the coin where sometimes it’s super early delivery, induction at 37w and normal delivery being overdue.

My last baby was 38+3 and was spontaneous due to high BP

RG9895 · 18/09/2023 15:59

@Redpanda21 sorry no help here but just curious what is the scan and measurements for?

@WitcheryDivine I had a small amount of protein in my urine at the last midwife appointment so she sent it off for testing. She said it’s often due to contamination and asked if I had a lot of discharge (I didn’t think I had).

I didn’t hear anything further which she said meant the results were fine.

Salamander91 · 18/09/2023 16:14

@WitcheryDivine I have my urine checked every 2 weeks (consultant led due to type 1 diabetes) and it always seems to have something in it but it always comes back clear when they send it for testing.

PartRadish · 18/09/2023 16:22

I had a trace of protein last week. Was started on antibiotics then told to stop them 3 doses in because the sample came back clear, no infection. Apparently a trace of protein isn't unusual and generally nothing to worry about.

Has any had/have low iron? Mine was normal at booking but the last few days I'm exhausted. I'm on modified bed rest so I'm only pottering about the house anyway but I'm absolutely wiped out. I've just emptied the dishwasher and had to sit down before I go back and fill it.

This doesn't feel like normal pregnancy tiredness, especially not 2nd trimester. Google repeatedly suggests low iron so wondering if it could be that...

Mushroo · 18/09/2023 16:22

Just checking in :)

Redpanda21 · 18/09/2023 16:24

@RG9895 it check the 2 artery flows to the uterus. Normally have one if you’ve had a tiny baby or had high blood pressure in pregnancy or pre eclampsia.

If you have high resistance baby could have restricted growth or I could get pre eclampsia.

WitcheryDivine · 18/09/2023 16:31

Thanks so much everyone again for replying re protein, I’ve been catastrophising no end. Discharge or an infection could be either of those!

Hummusanddipdip · 18/09/2023 16:31

Thanks for the new thread @RG9895

My sciatic pain seems to have cleared up, so assume baby was sat on the nerve most of last week, glad he's shifted.

HopeAndStrength · 18/09/2023 16:53

Thanks for the new thread! I'm 21+3, due 26 Jan :)

Kalodin · 18/09/2023 17:05

Absolutely should not have come into work today. Still so sore after that cerclage. @PartRadish when did it clear up for you this cramping? Mines radiating around back and thighs now, definitely gets worse if I'm upright, eases off when I recline

LittleAlien24 · 18/09/2023 17:10

@Onedayatatime24 i just felt sick in my stomach after not eating and drinking glucose. I took a sandwich and juice with me, so the minute it was over i had them and was ok after that. Spent hours in town after that and drove back home myself (1h 15 minutes drive).

buckingmad · 18/09/2023 17:24

@flowerpot258 me! But I’ve decided on VBAC. I’m not dead against an ELCS but it’s my last resort. I’m really active with a dog and horse and also last time I had my mum round the corner to ferry me round but this time I don’t. I want to be able to get in the car and go.

I got to 6cm last time and waters broke/started contractions naturally so they’re hopeful it’ll be ok this time.

buckingmad · 18/09/2023 17:26

@PartRadish sounds like low iron to me, I was exactly the same with my first and around the end of second/beginning of third trimester. Touch wood I’ve been ok so far but the second I feel uncharacteristically tired I’m phoning for a blood test! I struggled for too long last time and felt better within a few days of taking tablets.

Dannic2018 · 18/09/2023 17:31

Hi all, thanks for new thread. I’m 24+3 today and due 5th Jan.
I asked earlier about anyone having a small HC on the 20 week scan ? Just my little girls, I’ve found out today is sitting at 5% and the other measurements are 34% Cerebellum tr, 48% AC and 47% for Femur and Head/face/neck Biometry 9%
So as much as they say it’s in normal range Im paranoid her head is too small. Everything else is showing as normal?

Also had my glucose test today and god I’m wiped out my headache is still there a bit and I’ve drank loads and eaten a good lunch. Ready for bloody bed!

WitcheryDivine · 18/09/2023 17:34

Oh @Dannic2018 I’m sorry to hear you’re also feeling wiped after glucose test. Have no idea why it’s totally knocked me for six!

lilluce95 · 18/09/2023 17:48

Thanks for the new thread!!

I also have a GTT booked for November but only because my dad has type 2 diabetes and type 1 runs through the rest of my family - I was planning to drive myself to this but not sure now I've seen it wipes you out?!

Buttonmoon86 · 18/09/2023 17:51

Thanks for the new thread, just checking on.

I’ll be 25 weeks on Wednesday 😊 seems like it’s going really quick now

Salamander91 · 18/09/2023 17:55

@PartRadish I agree it sounds like low iron. I've had it the whole way through this pregnancy but with my others I've only been diagnosed after the 28 week bloods.

Mummyme87 · 18/09/2023 18:10

My first GTT I didn’t feel great a few hours later. Make sure you take food with you for afterwards and water to drink throughout. I was able to drive home no issues.

the trace of protein in urine is normal. I get that almost every sample as usually not hydrated enough. A trace tends to be caused by contamination/not a true midstream urine sample/dehydration.

@Redpanda21 sorry to hear your dopplers are off still. It’s again not uncommon, will be monitored but yes buts you at a higher risk of high BP and growth restricted baby. Are you on high dose aspirin?

Sambeaumont · 18/09/2023 18:22

Marking my spot. I'm 23+5 due 10th Jan ❤️

Redpanda21 · 18/09/2023 18:27

@Mummyme87 I’m on 150mg of aspirin a day. Have been since 12 weeks

HopeAndStrength · 18/09/2023 18:36

Flu jab done today, whooping cough next week

Mummyme87 · 18/09/2023 18:44

@Redpanda21 hopefully the aspirin will keep everything ticking along nicely for you

i need to start getting vaccines. Flu is now available at work, not sure about Covid yet… we aren’t allowed them together at my trust in case you have a reaction and then they won’t know which vaccine caused it.

LuneDArgent · 18/09/2023 18:51

Hi all, it's late, but I would like to join if that's ok?

I'm 23+3 and my due date is 12th of January. It's a little girl and will be my first baby, even though this is my 5th pregnancy: I had 4 miscarriages. That's why I didn't feel like joining any thread before, I'm only starting to believe recently that it might happen 🌈

@Redpanda21 I just wanted to say that I'm in the same situation. Where I live they do the doppler test for everyone at the 20 weeks scan. My result for left artery was 0.95 and the right one 1.68. Like you, I will have additional scans from 28 weeks, and I also have an appointment booked with a consultant at 25 weeks. Just hoping everything will be fine...
@Mummyme87 I am not on aspirin and haven't been told to start it after that result 😟 do you think I should be?
