Oooo name talk! This gets me excited. We always revealed our names when we revealed the sex. But as we are keeping this one a surprise we have decided to keep our names a surprise too

Mushroo · 20/09/2023 20:14

We’re fairly set on the name I think! But because I love name convos here was the shortlist:

  • Francesca
  • Matilda
  • Harriet
  • Georgina
  • Phoebe
  • Eliza

(Keeping the pick a secret until she’s here!)

RG9895 · 20/09/2023 20:18

Also just wanted to share our scan we had tonight 🥰 feeling so much better and lack of movements are explained as she is no longer head down and is in breach position! Part of me thinks her side profile looks like mine but could be seeing what I want to see haha

@Luhou we are telling people 😊 I told my class and it just felt so special!
We set on Annabella Jane 🥰
Jane was my mums middle name who we lost a couple of years ago and my DH's mum was Janet who we lost about 5 years ago so we wanted something for them as her middle name! We've ordered a little sign with her name on to go above her cot and I just love it 🥰

@RG9895 what a gorgeous scan photo!

suz2285 · 20/09/2023 20:30

@RG9895 awww 💖 I think baby has my nose from the scans too! Will be interesting to see once they are born

We've got a few names husband doesn't hate but def won't be deciding until he's here!

@FirstT1meMum Annabella Jane is a beautiful name 💖

Hummusanddipdip · 20/09/2023 20:30

Ahh so pleased you feel better now you know why you're feeling less movement @RG9895 and beautiful scan picture!!

I love those @Mushroo

We're really struggling with boys names @Mummyme87 too, ds has the only name both me and dh said "yes that is it" we did say what about Harry as we love Harriet for a girl and would probably use Harri as a nickname, but we don't love Harry for a boy, same with Elijah and Aiden which we've both says separately, but they're hmmm maybe names. It's hard!!!!!

Luhou · 20/09/2023 20:33

Love all your names!

We're going for Harry (DH grandfathers name). DH like Harry Edward but I prefer Harry Alexander.

@RG9895 gorgeous scan!

Luhou · 20/09/2023 20:36

@Hummusanddipdip I wasn't immediately in love with the name Harry but I knew it meant a lot to DH and has really grown on me.

buckingmad · 20/09/2023 20:41

Braxton hicks have kicked in today! Had to have a sit down they were so strong.

I just can’t shake the feeling this baby is going to be early, I think the mastitis and leaking colostrum last week got to my head and freaked me out.

Hummusanddipdip · 20/09/2023 20:47

I understand that one @Luhou I love a name with sentimental meaning and Harry sounds perfect for your ds.

I really like Gary, but dh veto'd it.

On comments from others, we've not shared any thoughts this time because we got some rather thoughtless comments about ds name when we told family what we had agreed on and 4 years later one of my cousins still refers to him as kilometres instead of his actual name...

RG9895 · 20/09/2023 20:49

@FirstT1meMum thank you! ☺️ lovely name, love it when they have a meaning too! We are having my nans name as her middle name which is also my middle name

@suz2285 so cute! I cant wait to see what she looks like! Secretly hoping she does look like me as they say first born girls look like their Dad. I sure do 😂

@Hummusanddipdip thank you! So glad we went, its so hard to not get yourself in an over worrying mess! Part of me cant wait til shes here so I can see, why cant we have windows into our bellies haha

@Luhou thank you! Love Harry and love Alexander too! Alexander was our boy name if we were to have one ☺️

@buckingmad hopefully baby stays put! I think I may have leaked a bit last night as woke up with a little stain right where my boob is but too scared to try and squeeze it😂

Loving the names ladies. We’ve not even discussed names!

When our youngest was born, we had a boys name but no girls name. We were team yellow. We are team yellow again so need to get thinking as we like unusual names!

I had my results for my uterine artery Doppler scan today:
Uad right PI = 1.90
Uad left PI = 1.73
MEAN uterine PI= 1.81, above 97th centile.

So quite high!
I’ve done quite a bit of Googling today and the outcome tends to be early delivery but I’m going to see what the consultant says in a couple of weeks.

Lilothblos · 20/09/2023 21:22

Such lovely names!! If it was up to me I’d call our girl Harriet but dh has vetoed it. I think we have settled on another that we both like but we’ll wait until she’s here before it’s definite.

LozzieLoo · 20/09/2023 21:33

We had our names before I was pregnant too. DP always said he would name a boy after his granddad, so he’ll be William, which was also my Grandads name so means a lot to us both 💙

MrsJ6921 · 20/09/2023 21:34

@FirstT1meMum perfect name! We’ve decided on Annabelle for our little girl but equally loved Annabella

MrsJ6921 · 20/09/2023 21:36

We’ve decided on Annabelle Jordan. Jordan after my DH’s little brother who sadly passed away and we think will mean a lot to my MIL as our little one will be the first granddaughter too.

FirstT1meMum · 20/09/2023 22:07

@MrsJ6921 gorgeous name! I'm sure your MIL will absolutely love the name too ❤️
We will no doubt end up calling DD Bell or Bella as a nickname but wanted to give her an option when she's older (and gives us something more stern when she's being cheeky! 🤣)

Love hearing everyone's thoughts on names and they're all absolutely gorgeous, loving how traditional they all are so far 😍

PartRadish · 20/09/2023 22:13

Glad you were seen @Kalodin and will hopefully be feeling better quickly now they can treat it🤞

@Mummyme87 you have excellent taste in names 😁 We've used three of the names on that list on two children (two first names and one middle name) and youngest was very, very almost Rafferty. The only reason we didn't use it is because the elder two both have R names and I didn't want three R names.

We have our name and middle names sorted. I ordered one of those little wooden name plaque things last week and I keep getting it out just to look at 🙈

Onedayatatime24 · 20/09/2023 22:29

We have our name chosen too! Keeping it to ourselves (although MIL is determined to get it out of us 🙄).

I told some friends the girl name I really liked and the only response I got was 'ugh our neighbours horrible cat is called that', so that was that one ruined. Luckily he's a boy and not told anyone our boy options other than my sister.

Dannic2018 · 20/09/2023 22:45

@Kalodin hope your ok and the infection clears quick

@Mummyme87 I love Arlo, I would have chosen that if we were having a boy or Milo too.

We have had a name since before we found out as my hubby had a dream

Rosie Rae ❤️
my Dad was Raymond, Ray for short so made it a tribute for him and I love the thought of Robin (my nearly 3 year old) and Rosie. Robin talks to her it’s so cute 🥰

Bims2019 · 20/09/2023 23:04

Loving all the names, they are gorgeous!

We're having a surprise and have a shortlist of girls names which we'll probably keep to ourselves. Boys names we're finding much harder. Having a baby after a lot of our friends means a few of our favourites are already taken, and we haven't found alternatives that we love yet. I do love the idea of paying tribute to family members though and there's quite a lot of choice there!

Salamander91 · 20/09/2023 23:12

I love all the names 😍 we made a list of names we liked and had our children vote with us. The winner was Cody ❤

Whataretheodds · 21/09/2023 00:28

Thank you @LuneDArgent

Anomaly scan was all normal. So relieved, was a bundle of nerves beforehand. Really emotional seeing so much detail. Seeing the spine blew my mind.

EL27 · 21/09/2023 07:42

Wow so many of you have picked beautiful names! 🥰

We still have no idea, we had a definite for a girl but definitely find boy names harder. I really struggle with finding a name I like and then when I do it's 'oh no can't use that that's my cousins/friends/dog/etc name'.😬

Also I'm Welsh and my parents kind of want me to give it a Welsh name (like myself and my sister have), but sadly I don't really like many Welsh boy names... 😕

Vikki7 · 21/09/2023 07:55

What beautiful names!

We really are stuck with our little boy, I have a name I'd like to use that I love but I still think there's a name out there that so obvious and fits our wants better (strong, traditional and biblical) that I just haven't found yet!

My other 2 children didn't have names until 2-3 weeks after birth although I always came back to what I'd suspected their names to be in early pregnancy! My son was a definite Daniel at 11 weeks pregnant but then OH said no and ruled it out. After he was born, it was certain he was a Daniel!! Same with my daughter, Ava although I initially wanted to name her Corah. OH said no way!
