I had anaemia before I was pregnant - after a couple of months taking ferrous sulfate I was back to normal levels so hoping you ladies will bounce back soon ❤️ it is the worst without being pregnant!

FirstT1meMum · 19/10/2023 09:51

Just had my growth scan and consultant appointment, just waiting for anti d.

Whilst it was lovely seeing baby again and I'm so relieved all her measurements are within the normal range I can't help but wonder why I saw the consultant...he literally told me my bloods were all fine (which I knew as the midwife told me yesterday) and the measurements were all good and he had no concerns. They've booked me for another growth scan in 4 weeks time. I understand they're following guidelines and I'm so grateful for the scans and relieved the consultant was very nice after hearing horror stories!

am3017 · 19/10/2023 10:56

I am so unorganised in terms of bigger things needed for baby, however, I think I’m nesting already I’ve spent the week clearing out different parts of the house and yesterday went out and bought everything I need to pack my hospital case🙈😂

Had 4D scan last night(27+3), he had hand/cord over face but managed to get a few images! And estimated weight 2lbs 2oz not sure if that’s normal or not tried comparing to DS1 and DD but their 4D scans were 29 weeks and they were 3lbs 1oz/ 3lbs!

@FirstT1meMum i just had mine and feel the same! Got told my blood sugar levels were fine and that was about it! Wasn’t very helpful really.

Baby is measuring fine though which is great news!

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 they we’re also non- committal about long term risks. They did say though there’s no increased risk of getting type 2 diabetes if you have more than one GD pregnancy, the risk is just there iyswim.

Still waiting to see the midwife. It’s been a long morning, should have brought snacks…

FirstT1meMum · 19/10/2023 11:44

@Mushroo glad it's not just me that felt that way! It definitely makes it a long morning with multiple appointments!!

I don't suppose anyone knows how we go about getting a fit to fly certificate? We are going away to Spain over half term and I'll be nearly 30 weeks on going and 31 coming back, the consultant today has said he's happy for me to fly and sees no reason not too and to contact the Dr for a fit to fly. So we rang our gp practice and they've said they don't do them as the Dr's don't like putting their name to it! Not too sure where to go now 🙈

Kalodin · 19/10/2023 12:31

Does your insurer or airline require one? I've never needed one @FirstT1meMum

Dannic2018 · 19/10/2023 13:07

Lovely pics @am3017 I’m still wondering if to get one as we did with ds but it was part on a university research so didn’t pay! But I’m so curious to know if she looks like my ds.

Just picked up my blood thinning injections and got weighed, I’ve put on 6 kg since August 😩 is that normal? I mean I haven’t really gained anywhere other than bump as fit into everything else fine but 11 weeks to go how much bigger will I be 😳

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 19/10/2023 13:12

@Mushroo thanks for the update, at least there's no proven cumulative risk.

@FirstT1meMum would midwife or a private company do one? I was just asked on my flight back for a fit to fly. I explained I was not in third trimester yet and they accepted that

Luhou · 19/10/2023 14:06

@Mushroo and @Bims2019 regarding inductions. Just from personal experience I'd be prepared to consider your range of pain relief options. I had my waters broken and there is no gradual build up so full contractions came on very quick for me. On the plus side I dilated very quickly!

Mummyme87 · 19/10/2023 15:03

Fit to fly after 28weeks needs to be a doctor, consultant should have done one. It’s normally a pre written letter that they sign.

I was asked how many weeks I was flying back from Rhodes, I said 26 and they accepted it. Outbound didn’t ask.

Kalodin · 19/10/2023 16:14

I've also put on 6kg and that seems in line the weight tracker on my pregnancy app @Dannic2018

Kalodin · 19/10/2023 16:15

See attached screenshot from it @Dannic2018

FirstT1meMum · 19/10/2023 17:28

@Kalodin it says the airline can ask for one after 28 weeks.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 going to try and get hold of the midwife tomorrow and see what they say 🤞🤞

@Mummyme87 ah that's so frustrating!! I explicitly asked him too 😔

PartRadish · 19/10/2023 18:31

Have been in triage most of the afternoon with reduced movements. Ctg was good and she moved loads once the monitor was on! They booked me in for growth scan Saturday afternoon anyway, I think just because I've had a previous SGA baby.

GTT tomorrow. Does anyone know, is it 10pm I can't eat after? Only just got home. I've fed the boys but DH isn't home until 8:30 so I need to do bath/bed etc and I think realistically it's going to be 9 before we eat. Is that okay? And I can still drink as much water as I like? But no squash?

FirstT1meMum · 19/10/2023 19:02

@PartRadish when I had mine it was fasting from 10pm and water was okay at all times 😊 so 9 should be fine!

Mushroo · 19/10/2023 19:05

@PartRadish mine was midnight so 10pm
should definitely be fine and water was ok throughout :)

Ttcdcno1 · 19/10/2023 19:26

@PartRadish yeah 10pm fast and water is fine 👍

Dannic2018 · 19/10/2023 19:45

@Kalodin thanks lovely 😊

PartRadish · 19/10/2023 19:53

@FirstT1meMum @Mushroo @Ttcdcno1 Thanks all :)

Mummyme87 · 19/10/2023 22:01

I’ve put on 6kg this pregnancy, including a weeks all inclusive. I would say 5kg has been in the last 8weeks really.
second GTT for me tomorrow morning and I need to starve from midnight

Ttcdcno1 · 20/10/2023 06:40

I haven’t gone near the scales 🙃too scared, I’m either always hungry or stressed at school so just snacking and stuffing my face allllll the time

sashastuck · 20/10/2023 06:59

I also haven’t weighed myself since 9 weeks! Might ask them to weigh me at my appointment though as I’m curious!

I love seeing those 3D scan pics. I want one but DP doesn’t!

Matildahoney · 20/10/2023 08:09

I got weighed at my 28 (29) week appt yesterday, apparently they usually do it then! I've put on 14kg since I conceived! 10kg since booking appt, but I was on an 800cal a day diet trying to lose weight to conceive & I gain weight easily anyway!

Salamander91 · 20/10/2023 08:27

I made the mistake of weighing myself yesterday. I've put on 20lbs. I'm plus size so I was hoping not too put too much weight on this pregnancy but I've really struggled with hypos and had to eat a lot of sugar so it's not really surprising I guess. I lost 45lbs before conceiving so watching it go back on is hard.

MrsJ6921 · 20/10/2023 08:50

I’m 29 weeks today and the third trimester tiredness has fully hit! Thank goodness for reduced hours.
