@wannabemum38 how frustrating, you are prepared to work but they are taking your laptop away. Have they give you a plan B option or simply you have to go to the office? My work haven't said anything regarding taking my laptop away as I will just not do the KIT days as I won't and don't want to go to the office in my maternity leave. They did however ask me for a GP letter to confirm I am fit to work after birth so I need to get that done at some point.

@Nclktnntt I get the standard SMP, 90% salary for the first 6 weeks and then it's the normal rate which is nothing. Thankfully I will still get my allowances so that will help a tiny bit. Then I need to make a plan for when I will using my KIT days.

I had a growth scan today and the last growth scan I had a month ago, the baby was on the big side at 98th centile due to my diabetes, today I had another growth scan and the baby is now 76th, I been better on my diet but I know I can still do better. They have increased my metaformin tablets. Another growth scan in 4 weeks.

Hi, ive had the winter cold too I've had literally everything you can think of this time and like you it's my last pregnancy 3 is enough for me lol and this one's really took its toll on my body. My hubby says this one's sent my hormones abit physco and he wouldn't impregnate me again even if I asked 😂 so I told him he won't need a doctor for the snip I'll do it myself 😂😂. I don't think anyone truly believes me when I say this is most definitely the last I've got a good mix with two girls and boy on the way x

Mamabear300 · 27/10/2023 13:48

@SMG1992 I can totally relate to how your feeling I too feel this way. I really enjoyed my pregnancies with the girls and had the 'glow' people talk about but this time round aside from circumstances ect I've just not enjoyed it like I wanted to although I don't tend to voice this to anyone other than my husband. I too like you just want my body back and try to get the 'healthy' feeling back , I think there's alot more women that feel this way its just many don't voice it for fear of being judged on it me being one of those especially after my two mmc last year as it feels like I'm being ungreatful for our little miracle bundle we've fought so hard to have.

I'll apologise now ladies if my replies aren't coming directly to you I'm abit new to this and some seem to be going directly to some and not to others x

smldnlove · 28/10/2023 09:51

Anyone else finding the baby movements really uncomfortable and extreme now? Baby was on 16th percentile so small on average 4 weeks ago, next growth scan is this week and I’m sure it is now a lot bigger.

Feeling uncomfortable and quite nauseas with the movements constantly atm and feels like it’s right at the surface of my stomach 😂😩

Hello ladies. I’m delighted to announce the birth of our daughter who was born by scheduled c section on Monday 23rd October at 10.41am weighing 2lb 15oz. She was 34 weeks 2 days. She came early because the doctors suspected she had a heart condition and also my placenta wasn’t giving her what she needed. She is in the HDU of our local hospital (graduated NICU yesterday!) and is doing really well.

The heart issue seems to have corrected and she shouldn’t need surgery. My c section was a magical and wonderful experience and seeing her for the first time was the best moment of my life. We are so so proud of her.

It’s a tough road knowing that we can’t bring her home just yet, but we are confident that she is receiving the best possible care.

If anyone has any questions, or if you are also expecting a pre-term delivery, I am happy to help in any way I can.

Wishing you all healthy happy babies.

Mushroo · 28/10/2023 10:43

@bookbathnap oh gosh congratulations!! The first baby of the chat!

So glad it went as well as it could and she’s already out of the NICU. That is fabulous news.

How are you feeling? I imagine it’s been a whirlwind few days

Nclktnntt · 28/10/2023 13:32

Congratulations @bookbathnap so glad to hear both yourself and your little girl are doing well and that she is out of NICU already. I'm also super pleased to hear they're hopeful she doesn't need surgery and her heart issues seem to have corrected itself too! It's definitely not easy going back and forth and she'll be home soon 😊

@bookbathnap Congratulations! Glad you’re both doing well and things are better than expected.

Charlielechat · 28/10/2023 14:19

Congratulations @bookbathnap ! Lovely to hear of the first baby in the group. Glad little one is doing well, and hopefully you get her home soon!

@smldnlove Yes my baby is definitely a lot stronger this week! I'm being tortured every time I sit down 😂 Just constantly rubbing themselves against my tummy! Pretty sure I felt something like a foot or elbow/knee sticking out a few times too!

Undercoverunicorn · 28/10/2023 14:31

Congrats @bookbathnap hope you are all home soon

Nclktnntt · 28/10/2023 19:28

We popped to the hospital today to check on baby as movements had slowed - normally in the morning they're active and I'd only had a couple shuffles and then nothing for the hour before getting there. They checked them and all was good, babies been more active since too which has been nice.

They've been up under my ribs for a while now so sometimes when I'm sitting, I get really uncomfortable unless I'm sitting up dead straight. I even have to hold my ribs to stop them getting their little feet or legs underneath them as the put something under there and I can feel something in the way 😂 I'm considering wearing a belt around my ribs to stop them being able to get underneath!

Movements aren't extreme for me yet - I feel like I have a very calm baby, so hoping that remains the case. they seem to sleep most of the night with me and every-time I turn i get a shuffle then nothing much more than that. So fingers crossed they're calm when they're on the outside too 🤞 I am preparing myself for the worst though so if they're not up every hour through the night it'll be a bonus.

@Nclktnntt aah I can totally relate to being kicked/punched in the ribs this week! I constantly feel like I’ve got a stitch but not as sharp, if that even makes sense

Yea, my ribs feels bruised most days by the evening time. That's around when I start holding my ribs down. I also do it because my cousins eldest dislocated her rib when she was pregnant with her, due to keep kicking them, so I'm trying my hardest not to let that happen because there was nothing they could do for it.

Morning all! I’ve not posted here before so excuse me jumping in so late in the day. I’m due my 2nd child on 1st dec. I had a bad night sleep last night and my toddler insisted on getting up at 3:30 today 😬

ive got back ache (like I get in my period) on and off and I feel quite sick. I’m 35+2 today. Could this be early signs of Labour?? My 1st LB was born at 37+6 but it all happened quite quickly and first sign was my waters breaking.

SMG1992 · 29/10/2023 08:03

Congratulations @bookbathnap! I hope you all manage to go home soon enough once your little girl has grown a bit more.
sending love and strength to you all!

Nclktnntt · 29/10/2023 08:16

Hi @Londonscallingme I'm only 31+4 with my first so can't advise on the signs of labour, however I've just had a look on the nhs site and it says to call your midwife if you think you might be going into labour and less than 37 weeks, so maybe call your feral assessment unit or triage and see what they think. It could just be back ache from not getting a good nights sleep but as back pain can be a sign I would give them a call to be on the safe side. Most likely you're not but as you were early with your other they'll probably want to check you over to make sure for you.

Feral assessment sounds about right today to be honest 😂

I’ll give them a shout and see what they say x

SMG1992 · 29/10/2023 09:07

I’ve had some bad stomach cramps overnight and have woken up with a really upset stomach.
I don’t think it’s labour, must have been something I’ve eaten/ hopefully not a stomach bug but it just feels like another energy drain when I’m already so tired 😴
I was hoping for a productive Sunday but I feel like I just want to stay in bed
