@dory0 Yeah it’s catch 22 isn’t it? I did just give the bathroom a major clean while I had a tiny bit of energy, but now I’m lying on my bed when I should be working (and wondering why it smells like rotting wood and mashed potato in here 😂😂)

Lbw1292 · 01/09/2023 12:30

I have no desire to eat anything whatsoever. I am basically just making food knowing I don’t want to eat it and feel sick the whole time I’m eating it 😢

I also am being a bit funny about smells! I feel like I can pick up on the smallest change…

Lbw1292 · 01/09/2023 13:17

Just got my appointment through! Sunday 17th.. my app says I will be 9 weeks and 1 day but I ovulated cd20 so I think I will be measuring around 8 weeks. I am so excited!

We go away for 4 days next week so I am hoping that will make time go a bit quicker! Xx

xxcxdonxx · 01/09/2023 13:25

Hi ladies, I plucked up the courage to call my
midwife so I’ve my first appointment early October when I’ll be almost 10 weeks!

As I’ve had a miscarriage before, she said I could ask for a reassurance scan from epu. I called epu but they said it had to come from a doctors referral and now I’m struggling to get a doctors appointment to get the referral. Has anyone else had this? I’ve to call back Monday morning now to see if I can get an appointment.

Emma1822 · 01/09/2023 13:52

@Lbw1292 I’m so jealous you’ve got your date already I’m still waiting for the midwife’s to contact me being 1 day behind you hopefully not too long but how exciting have a lovely time away too💖

Lbw1292 · 01/09/2023 14:46

@Emma1822 yeah I was feeling pretty impatient! I was actually going to book a private scan for that week so I’m glad they’ve confirmed. You should deffo hear soon though! It’s so exciting isn’t it!

@xxcxdonxx thats annoying you have to wait until Monday to call - could you book a private scan to reassure you? X

hja62 · 01/09/2023 15:47

I've started spotting. A mix of red and brown blood. Anyone else experienced the same and their scan has been ok? I'm terrified as I had a MMC in May x

Is anyone having a problem with smells? As well as the thought of food turning my stomach, I am finding the smell of everything gross- I’m convinced my flat smells awful but can’t put my finger on what it is. I keep changing my bedding/ clothes as can’t stand it smelling of anything other than washing powder. Any smells of body (including my own) is gross. The only smells I don’t mind are synthetic smells. I smelled a bonfire last night and found it soothing 😂 it’s so annoying as there’s no escape as everywhere smells 😂😂

@Bluesky85 I'm not too keen on the smell of things like curry, dirty nappies if my 2 year old has eaten certain foods, or certain chemicals (Ecover washing up liquid, which was in our holiday house this month, really got to me). In the very early weeks, garlic was off-putting but I seem to be ok with it now. Like you, I'm also not keen on "stale" clothes, especially DHs!

In my first pregnancy I remember going into my colleagues office at work and commenting to him that something smelt weird in there, but I couldn't put my finger on it... it was a soft of chemically almost mildly acrid smell... then I realised that it was him (obviously never said anything though)! He was always clean and well groomed, so I guess it must have been hormones?! In my subsequent pregnancy we worked on desks next to each other in an open plan office and the smell was thankfully much less obvious.

xxcxdonxx · 01/09/2023 18:19

@Lbw1292 it is, I should have been more on the ball calling the gp first thing this morning.
I’m not desperate to get seen straight away, I would like the scan ideally towards the end of next week as my last pregnancy stopped developing at 6w1d and I’m 6ws tomorrow so in my head, im aiming to as close to 7 weeks as I can.
There is a private scan place nearby but it said it was for 8weeks onwards so I’ll hang on for the epu one 💜

xxcxdonxx · 01/09/2023 18:23

@hja62 I’m sorry I know that can be really worrying but it doesn’t meant the worst. How far along are you?

hja62 · 01/09/2023 19:34

@xxcxdonxx I'm 6+2 at the moment. I don't really have any major cramping but I'm quite sore. I'm using crinone progesterone vaginal gel so I'm really hoping it's just irritation from that. But I've used it over 10 times before in different fertility treatments and never had an issue. I'm guess it's just a waiting game. Scan booked for next Thursday 🙏🏻

Bexxy28 · 01/09/2023 20:07

I am sooo bloated today like it hurts but ive not eat loads so unsure why it's so bad today, I feel a little constipated sorry tmi so thinking maybe that's why? Im 6+3 does anyone else have bad bloating? X

Pinkstuffs · 01/09/2023 20:08

@hja62 I had a little bit of spotting but it went away quickly, has yours stopped? The midwife referred me to the EPU but all was fine and I saw a heartbeat at 5+6, she suspected a bit of irritation on my cervix.

Does anyone find they are freezing cold? I’m not sure if it’s because autumn/winter is coming or if it’s pregnancy related! Having to have a bath most evenings as I’m cold to my bones and very achy.

Pinkstuffs · 01/09/2023 20:09

@Bexxy28 my bloating is awful, I think it’s the progesterone. I get bad bloat around my period too. I’ve been eating prunes or grapes to avoid constipation and going for a walk helps.

Cinderz123 · 01/09/2023 20:14

@Bexxy28 pregnancy hormones slow ur digestive system which is the reason we get bloated and constipated, i feel I could be the poster girl for constipation lately kinda miss the earlier days were it was more free flowing 😳 (guessing my very beige diet isn't helping my cause either) xx

xxcxdonxx · 01/09/2023 20:15

@hja62 that could very well be it, a bit of irritation and the extra hormones. Take it easy, fingers crossed for you and hope it’s a quick week till Thursday.

@Pinkstuffs bath is running as we speak! I feel the cold quite often so don’t think I could put mines down to pregnancy though.

@Bexxy28 yes I feel I’m really bloated by the end of the day. I need to be better at drinking more water to help with it all.

Bexxy28 · 01/09/2023 20:16

@hja62 hope everything works out for you! Try not to panic I know easier said than done!

@Pinkstuffs I'm cold as well! Im always cold tho but feeling it more recently! Im waking in the night shivering as well! Yes I was hoping it was progesterone..it's soo bad today! But hoping that's a good sign 🤞

Bexxy28 · 01/09/2023 20:20

@xxcxdonxx yes deffo must be the water ive not drank much today and usually good at drinking more since finding out 😅

@Cinderz123 no same!! I look 6 months pregnant tonight it's wild!!! Im just thinking it's all part of the process! 💞 I do miss being able to go to the toilet freely as well 🤣 I also worry about straining incase I see blood that will send me into a panic as well lol x

Pinkstuffs · 01/09/2023 20:39

@Bexxy28 there are a few yoga type positions that can help relieve wind as well, I am always downward dogging in the evenings 😂 I feel sorry for my DH. Oh and peppermint tea is good if you can stomach it, I used to drink loads of it but it sets my nausea off now

hja62 · 01/09/2023 20:41

@Pinkstuffs no it's hasn't stopped unfortunately. If anything a little heavier but it's still only light red, no clots or deep red bleeding yet. Slight cramping. It's hard not to catastrophise but I have a bad feeling.

Thanks @Bexxy28 @xxcxdonxx

sugarplum33 · 01/09/2023 20:50

@Pinkstuffs I think you can get peppermint in capsules. I've just reminded myself of them and might need to get some, I'm ridiculously bloated!

@hja62 Sorry you're having a worrying time and hope everything is okay x

sugarplum33 · 01/09/2023 20:52

I take that back, apparently peppermint capsules aren't suitable for pregnant women, like every other effective medication 🤪

Bexxy28 · 01/09/2023 20:52

@Pinkstuffs @sugarplum33 ohhh good idea im gonna get some peppermint! Its definitely the constipation making it feel worse 😅

Pinkstuffs · 01/09/2023 20:57

@Bexxy28 i actually had some peppermint cordial once, my DH got it for me on a late night dash to Morrisons (I suffer bad enough wind when I’m not pregnant 😅) and it was lovely, much sweeter than tea

Bexxy28 · 01/09/2023 21:48

@Pinkstuffs searching for this tomorrow! Ill try anything as im so uncomfortable! Lol x
