Tentatively seeing if anyone else is due then yet?

I got a positive digital this morning and based on Ovulation I'd be due 30th April and 2nd May based on LMP, but until the dating scan that could easily change a week either way based on previous babies!

@Pambeezley im a second time mum and feel ok so far just tired. I’m 5 weeks tho so this could easily change

Pambeezley · 05/09/2023 18:28

@Plumful I think it's definitely bloat, but I'm not eating more than I usually do. I'm dreading the weigh at the booking in appt 😅 last time I was only slightly over the recommended BMI. This time I know I'm already heavier 😬

Plumful · 05/09/2023 18:30

Oh yeh at this stage it’s always bloat! I must admit being a mum already means I’ve barely had time to think about being pregnant which is a positive. I felt so anxious in my first pregnancy

GLC789 · 05/09/2023 18:32

@Pambeezley i also had to do an extra CB just to see that 3+ today! I don't know why I was so obsessed with seeing it but it's made me feel so much better.

The worst symptom for me at the moment is the cramps. They come and go but in the nights they literally wake me up! They never last more than half hour but my god, no one warned me about this. I don't know if they are worse than period cramps or not because we were so lucky to conceive within 3 cycles of coming off the pill. Ive been on contraception from the age of 16 so I really don't have any 'real periods' to compare these cramps to.

Is anyone else struggling with the cramps? X

GLC789 · 05/09/2023 18:32

Huge congratulations to the new comers to this thread too! So happy for you all x

Mystic94 · 05/09/2023 18:37

I got a surprise bfp yesterday, LMP makes me due 11th May.

This is my 3rd pregnancy, I knew I was pregnant with my other 2 but this time I just don't feel anything. No symptoms apart from missed period, I just don't feel pregnant and have to remind myself all the time! I hope that doesn't mean something isn't right.

I had a pelvic ultrasound today for period issues (booked before bfp) and they said there was free fluid and my lining is 11mm (I didn't mention the bfp) so I'm worried there's something wrong as nothing was seen.

Congrats everyone! 🎉

Pambeezley · 05/09/2023 18:41

@GLC789 I have been experiencing cramps, and for me they're pretty bad and like my period is about to start, which is a bit disconcerting. I never had it in my first pregnancy, but this time round it catches me off guard. I have been upping my water intake, and I move around when the cramps start, easier said than done when you're in bed! It's everything stretching out for your growing baby ☺️

Congratulations to the new comers too! 😊

GLC789 · 05/09/2023 18:45

@Pambeezley while I hate the fact you're suffering with cramps too, I'm so glad it's not just me. This is my first pregnancy and as I'm 35 and everywhere you look tells you that I'm 'geriatric' and 'high risk' it's very difficult not to worry over every little pain.

I might try some pregnancy yoga, will let you know if it's worth it xx

cmopri · 05/09/2023 18:53

Hey, I'm new here. Due date currently sitting at 28th April. Pregnant with my second and the pregnancy couldn't feel further than my first. I had severe sickness from 4 weeks with my last. Feeling little to no symptoms. Occasional cramping which has been a concern to me, sometimes I think "ok I can feel something going on" but not always sure this feels reassuring. The worry is causing me to take endless pregnancy tests. Congratulations to you all!! Spring time babies, how exciting 🐣 x

GLC789 · 05/09/2023 19:46

@cmopri welcome and congratulations lovely! A few of us are having the cramps! I have found this thread really reassuring.

Someone mentioned getting all the carbs in the other day. Whoever you were THANK YOU. I had a huge bowl of pasta this evening and it's comforted me beyond belief! 😍 X

Plumful · 05/09/2023 19:49

I’ve also just had a bowl of pasta

cmopri · 05/09/2023 19:55

@GLC789 ah thank you, handy to read any tips so we feel in this together. Going through pregnancy at the same stage. I'll give pasta a go tomorrow x

mrktmummy · 05/09/2023 20:08

@GLC789 @cmopri @Pambeezley 2nd time mum to be aswell and i'm finding the cramps stronger than last time like strong period cramps quite a scary feeling when they happen

cmopri · 05/09/2023 20:19

@GLC789 @Pambeezley oh interesting, that's one of the only symptoms that's standing out to me this time around. Can be really unsettling. Feel like the beginning of pregnancy is such a wait during the first trimester. It's just having that regular contact from medical staff to just reassure you things are all ok x

Nynm23 · 06/09/2023 07:42

Morning all, the sickness has hit me hard. Been up a few times through the night and feel like I’ve a really bad hangover.

Trying to get something to eat into me as haven’t had anything since lunch yesterday. I absolutely hate throwing up food so cup a soup feels like a safe bet.

If anyone has any tips please feel free to share - I will be forever thankful.

Hope everyone is doing ok

mrktmummy · 06/09/2023 07:56

@Nynm23 same here! 😩 I'm slowly nibbling away at a tuc cracker to see if that helps x

Iamcatmum · 06/09/2023 08:07

Oh no! Hope you both find something to eat to get you through @Nynm23 @mrktmummy. No suggestions I’m afraid! Ginger is supposed to help but no idea if it actually does.

Iamcatmum · 06/09/2023 08:20

@Mystic94 congrats on the BFP!

I know it’s super hard not to worry in these early stages when so much is unknown. For what it’s worth though I’ve heard people who have had different sets of symptoms for different pregnancies and everything turned out okay. Also for your scan, I don’t think typically they can see anything before 6 weeks anyway

lenalove · 06/09/2023 09:41

I had a ginger and lemon tea yesterday afternoon when feeling queasy and it definitely helped @Nynm23 @mrktmummy x

Pambeezley · 06/09/2023 09:54

I've been eating Skips 😂 and letting them melt on my tongue 😂 they seem to be working for now.

Feeling like my symptoms are calming down though, so hopefully nothing bad is going to happen 🫤

Nynm23 · 06/09/2023 09:54

@mrktmummy it’s grim! Tucks are a great shout! I suffer really bad hangovers and have stopped drinking because they’re that bad. It’ll be Sod’s Law I’ll be boking throughout this pregnancy!

@Iamcatmum I’ve got ginger tea and some chews but I really can’t stand the taste, so they are on standby if it gets really bad.

I’m due to go to a wedding on Saturday, it’s 100 miles away from home and requires a stay over, I really don’t think I’d cope for the day if I’m still feeling like this.

Belle26 · 06/09/2023 10:02

@Nynm23 my friend recommended rich tea biscuits. This morning the physical sickness has kicked in so I'll be trying rich tea today 🙈

1 hour until my scan, the anxiety is real. Good luck to everyone who has scans this week

lenalove · 06/09/2023 10:09

Good luck @Belle26 hope everything goes ok! xx

Nynm23 · 06/09/2023 10:28

Rich tea added to the list ✔ good luck for scan @Belle26

Kellyaust · 06/09/2023 10:29

I can also confirm the cramps are awful, mine were terrible yesterday! After my miscarriage in may it feels terrifying. Also I have really bad left groin pain it hurts so bad.
Scan day Friday... Scared.

As for the sickness, mine hasn't fully kicked in yet but last time ginger biscuits and this might sound weird.... Sniffing lemon juice helped so much 😆 also sucking on mints and hits of protein helped a lot.
