Tentatively seeing if anyone else is due then yet?

I got a positive digital this morning and based on Ovulation I'd be due 30th April and 2nd May based on LMP, but until the dating scan that could easily change a week either way based on previous babies!

how's everyone getting on?

i have a glucose test at 28weeks. no food till 11am. my BMI is 33, so i think that's why i'm testing, other perks i'll call them them, scans every 4 weeks.

i've been reading a lot into Hypnobirthing. if anyone is interested she did a youtube video on giving birth

https://www.youtube.com/live/t_miVMUqAxA?si=iHx1UeqgY8fZsopg

also the bugaboo chameleon 3, is £250 in costco. i thought i might buy that one. it's from newborn to 4 years. a bargain really!

i haven't bought anything at all yet.
going to try and make a baby area as we still live in a 1 bed flat. with this market not moving. it's not selling

GLC789 · 26/01/2024 18:36

@barbiecharley1 i haven't looked into hypno birthing yet but really want to. So thanks for sharing the video!

I get extra growth scans too - because of low Papp-A (like 0.01 under threshold). I'm actually glad of the extra scans! The more I can see my baby girl the better 😍.

First growth scan on 5th Feb. Have you had one yet? What's it like? Xx

Plumful · 26/01/2024 18:39

I recommend the positive birth company hypnobirthing. Had an amazing birth with my first. The digital pack is cheap.

HopeAndChocolate · 26/01/2024 21:50

I have this digital pack @Plumful so glad to hear you rate it! Would love to hear more about your first birth/how you used the tools you learnt from PBC if you were happy to share.

Plumful · 28/01/2024 08:05

@HopeAndChocolate it might sound silly but I realised I didn’t have a clue how the full labour process worked. My first baby measured big and that scared me so I decided I needed to do something about the fear. That’s when I came across hypnobirthing.

  • understanding the importance of basic hormones was so enlightening and why shouting and screaming is a waste of time, how important oxytocin is!
  • all the options for pain relief were fully explained
  • importance of staying upright and active
  • covered c section and induction too and ways to make it better
  • how important breathing is.

It also made me a bit annoyed that every depiction of women in films and TV having a baby is on their back! also one born every minute isn’t good for educating yourself.

for me ultimately I felt a lot more in control of what was happening and able to not panic during contractions. I stayed at home as long as possible,’pacing the living room and bouncing, anything to maintain UFO (upright forward and open) and had a maternity tens machine. I used the Freya app to time contractions.

There were times I felt like I was losing it towards the end but always managed to get back to the breathing and calm down.

Thanks so much for sharing @Plumful, so good to hear as a lot of that stuff are things I’m nervous/a bit clueless about so I’m excited to get started! x

GLC789 · 28/01/2024 11:20

@Plumful! Thank you so much! That was so reassuring! Deffo going to look more into it now. All these TV shows etc scare the life out of us don't they! X

Plumful · 28/01/2024 11:21

I always say it was the best £40 I spent and recommend it to everyone. The midwives couldn’t believe it was my first baby as I was so calm.

barbiecharley1 · 28/01/2024 22:37

@Plumful

that's really great to hear, i downloaded the Freya app already and i'm quite enjoying listening to the mediation at night time.

i will also defo look at getting the package too.

My growth scan was exactly the same as the 20week scan, same place, same person even, they just measured the baby, head, body, legs. they have recommended that i take aspirin for the remainder of my pregnancy (till 36 weeks)

Nynm23 · 29/01/2024 17:49

Just dropping by to share I am absolutely exhausted. Like back to first trimester level exhaustion. Hopefully temporary as don’t think I would last another 8 weeks in work like this 😴

Plumful · 29/01/2024 18:47

@Nynm23 could it be your iron?

Nynm23 · 29/01/2024 21:21

Oh good shout @Plumful i hadn’t even thought of that! Who can test - GP?

Plumful · 29/01/2024 21:41

@Nynm23 you should have bloods taken again at 28 weeks, how far are you?

Nynm23 · 29/01/2024 21:48

27 weeks, I actually don’t think I’ve a 28
week appointment booked. I must check!

GLC789 · 30/01/2024 09:20

Sorry to hear you're not feeling the best @Nynm23. Could deffo be iron!

I'm 27 weeks today too.. Rolling into the third trimester!! X

Nynm23 · 30/01/2024 13:57

Turns out I do have a 28 week appointment, it’s next Thursday. I thought that was Anti D clinic, but it looks like they’ve booked me in on the same day the clinic runs so I don’t have 2 separate appointments. Efficiency from the NHS, who knew!? 😂

I am shocked! But delighted for you lol! Who knew indeed!?

How are you feeling today? Xx

Plumful · 30/01/2024 15:48

There are some lovely sleepsuits in the clearance part of Next, worth stocking up in bigger sizes for the winter.

Nynm23 · 30/01/2024 20:45

@GLC789 awake from 12am to 4am last night, so today hasn’t been great. Think it’s a mixture of dealing with bereavement, juggling 273 things to do before baby comes and not being able to sleep on my front. Hoping for a better night tonight 🤞🏼

@Plumful thanks will certainly take a look. I’ve bought a few bits from Vinted today, really need to start getting more ordered. Pram and car seat shopping next Thurs!

GLC789 · 30/01/2024 20:52

@Nynm23 sending love! I'm a front sleeper too! This side sleeping malarkey is giving me sore hips! Even with my pillow fort! First thing in going to do after birth (all being well) is take a nap on my front!!! X

Plumful · 04/02/2024 17:20

How’s everyone?

GLC789 · 05/02/2024 16:39

@Plumful all good here.

Had our first extra growth scan today. Was so lovely. Baby is on the smaller side but within the right range so relieved about that! And loved the bonus of getting to see her again on screen!

How are you? Xx

barbiecharley1 · 06/02/2024 12:18

ohhh yeah, it's lovely seeing them on the screen isn't it. @GLC789

i have a growth scan on Friday.

how's everyone's kicks coming along, i feel like my baby doesn't stop kicking / wriggling around in there.

personally i'm feeling pretty good in myself.
sleeping is becoming harding, i get a dead arm sleeping on my side which is annoying!

GLC789 · 06/02/2024 13:55

@barbarbiecharley1 it so lush!

My kicking is so frequent now still barely visible to others but I feel her! She turnels alot too which makes my bump go into some pretty unique shapes! Haha.

Same as you, feeling good but omg I can't wait to be able to sleep on my front again! My hips and stuff are so sore from side sleeping! X
