Tentatively seeing if anyone else is due then yet?

I got a positive digital this morning and based on Ovulation I'd be due 30th April and 2nd May based on LMP, but until the dating scan that could easily change a week either way based on previous babies!

For any first time mums I really recommend the extended rear facing car seat group on Facebook, it’s been so educational around good car seats. @Nynm23 so sorry to hear that, must be so hard for you.

Thank you so much! It's a minefield out there! X

GLC789 · 24/01/2024 17:29

How are you all ladies? Tell me everything! You miss this group! X

GLC789 · 24/01/2024 17:29

I miss this group

Plumful · 24/01/2024 17:31

@GLC789 I am here lol. It’s very dead. Not sure why?

There she is!!

How are you? What's news? Xx

Plumful · 24/01/2024 21:39

My PGP is so awful. I can’t do anything. Physio isn’t doing anything. Hve you bought anything else?

GLC789 · 24/01/2024 22:21

@Plumful oh nooo! That sucks so bad. Thankfully the pain I was having in pelvic area comes and goes. So I'm putting it down to baby just deciding to sit in awks places when she feels like it.

Had my first little kick in the cervix from her the other day! Felt like someone put a live electrical wire up my flower bed tbh! 😂😂😂

We finally bought a pram/car seat etc and now the flood gates are open! Just wanna get everything all ready lol!! X

Nynm23 · 25/01/2024 05:02

Currently awake counting down the hours until my glucose tolerance test. Not sure how I’ll make it to 10am without something to eat - sick bags at the ready!

Also experiencing wild night sweats, I thought that was a post partum symptom?!

Sorry to hear about the PGP, I’m sure it’s awful!

Still haven’t purchased a single baby item, house renovations underway so my excuse is I have absolutely no where to put anything, can barely find a pair of knickers in this
bombsite😂only a few more weeks of the chaos!

ManchesterRoad · 25/01/2024 08:18

are people finding there are wait times for their prams/furniture? We haven’t bought anything yet, nor decorated the nursery and I’m stressing myself out that we won’t be ready in time (but still telling myself it’s too early to do anything at 27 weeks 🙃)

Plumful · 25/01/2024 08:25

I have crutches now. I have no life. @ManchesterRoad i had quite a wait with my pram for first baby but think it was due to Covid.

GLC789 · 25/01/2024 16:41

@Nynm23 I had GTT yesterday. It was not a fun morning out! How are you after it?

@Plumful omg crutches!? You poor thing. That's surely they can do more for you!?

@manchesterroad we bought our pram etc on 18th jan. Earliest delivery was mid Feb but we chose start of April as the warranty starts from delivery. So didn't want it just sat there for two months wasting time lol!

Is anyone struggling with sleep? Three nights in a row I've been lucky to get 2 hours of disturbed sleep. I've been running in fumes in work and close to burnout. Would "exhaustion" be considered pregnancy related sickness if I told my boss I simply need a day or two off to rest?

Nynm23 · 25/01/2024 17:38

@GLC789 I think the combination of the test and lack of sleep has made me feel off all day. Hoping to get tea into me and get a decent night sleep to make me feel normal again! Pregnancy tiredness is a totally reasonable excuse for some time off. Hopefully you have an understanding employer!

GLC789 · 25/01/2024 17:47

@Nynm23 my employer is great. But I've not taken a sick day in the whole 15 years I've worked there lol. So I'm actually riddled with anxiety about potentially not working one or two days next week. Maybe I need to swallow my pride and listen to my body.

I didn't sleep at all the night before my GTT either. The tiredness is so real 😂. I need a week of good sleep I think x

HopeAndChocolate · 25/01/2024 19:47

So lovely to have the chat more active again!🥰 We started sorting out our nursery last weekend, I know he won’t be in it for a while but will be nice to get it ticked off the to-do list and I’m already desperate to start nesting. 😅

What prams has everyone gone for/are thinking of? x

ManchesterRoad · 25/01/2024 19:59

@HopeAndChocolate I really like the look of the egg2 BUT I see a new one is being released in March so I’m a bit torn. Going to go to John Lewis next weekend and try some out.

@GLC789 @Nynm23 i had my GTT last week, god that syrupy drink sat on an empty stomach is not the one. Not got any results back yet so I’m hoping that means everything’s ok - they said I’d get a phone call in the immediate days after if I tested positive.

Plumful · 25/01/2024 20:01

I rate the Oyster, the basket is huge.

Plumful · 25/01/2024 20:02

@GLC789 they can’t discriminate for pregnancy sickness. If you need a couple of days off sick, listen to your body.

HopeAndChocolate · 25/01/2024 20:05

@ManchesterRoad Could be worth booking an appointment with John Lewis too - I think you’re supposed to get some nice perks!

What triggers having to get the GTT done out of interest? Was told at my 20 week scan baby had a slightly big stomach and it could indicate GD but my midwife didn’t seem concerned/spot anything of interest in my urine sample last week so hoping I’ll be ok!

Plumful · 25/01/2024 20:11

I have my Gtt test in a couple of weeks, I thought everyone had it as standard?

Regarding GTT

Where I am (Wales) thru offer GTT if you're high risk of gestational diabetes. I am, as my mother and nanna had it.

A friend of mine was offered because she was measuring big and was a bit overweight before pregnancy.

I think it depends where you are etc, but no everyone I know has had it offered when pregnant xx

Oh interesting! I’m 26 weeks on Sunday so guess I may still be asked but just read this from the NHS: “If you have 1 or more risk factors for gestational diabetes you should be offered a screening test.”

Not that I can say I want it or anything ha was just curious really!

ManchesterRoad · 25/01/2024 20:52

@HopeAndChocolate thanks for the heads up about John Lewis - I’ll look into it.

As for GTT, I was offered it as my BMI was borderline with the threshold and they wanted to be safe.

GLC789 · 25/01/2024 20:58

@HopeAndChocolate

I was pretty much booked in for it by 12 weeks. But obviously had to wait until 26 weeks. I really hope it comes back negative though. I'll cry if I have to stop having my ice cream 😂😂😂. It's my fave thing atm DAILY.

And popcorn, any flavour. Just want pop corn all the time. I don't even like popcorn.

HopeAndChocolate · 25/01/2024 21:05

Let us know how you get on @GLC789! I’d be feeling exactly the same, I have such a sweet tooth generally but even more so at the moment! Feels wrong to deprive a pregnant woman of anything when there’s so much they can’t do already. 😅

GLC789 · 26/01/2024 10:01

@HopeAndChocolate I know right!?

They said no news is good news. So if I haven't heard from them in a week... Happy days!!
