Tentatively seeing if anyone else is due then yet?

I got a positive digital this morning and based on Ovulation I'd be due 30th April and 2nd May based on LMP, but until the dating scan that could easily change a week either way based on previous babies!

I’m glad to hear other people are also getting sore sleeping (obvs I wish we were all sleeping peacefully) but it’s nice to know I’m not alone in waking up aching :)

GLC789 · 06/02/2024 17:09

@ManchesterRoad same! So sorry for us all but it's nice to know it appears to be somewhat normal I guess?

Suppose the extra weight of bump just puts more strain on the side we decide to sleep on?

Imagine how light we will feel when these babies are out? It's gonna be so weird! But of course, I don't imagine we will get a good night sleep anyway then 😂👀 x

ManchesterRoad · 06/02/2024 17:42

@GLC789 very true! I’m SO looking forward to laying on my back. I feel like I can never get comfy in bed or on the sofa as I’m so paranoid about putting pressure on my back.

another 10 weeks at work as well so I really need to be ensuring I get a good rest at night.

GLC789 · 06/02/2024 18:01

@ManchesterRoad

Omg. It's literally just over ten weeks isn't it 👀👀👀!

What is your due date again? I'm 30th April x

ManchesterRoad · 06/02/2024 18:10

I’m a week before you! Although with it being my first I’m preparing mentally to go over and into May 😂x

barbiecharley1 · 06/02/2024 20:19

i know feels mad doesn't it!
i've just tired my maternity to cover to start 4th March.

i'm due 29th April, it's mad isn't it, as baby could come any time mid April to mid May! i don't feel prepared at all

booking an appointment with Mumas and Papas to talk prams, have anyone got one yet, not sure if i should save money and go for a second hand one of ebay / and older model or like the best one in the shop 😂

It's my first too! So who knows what will happen! Xx

Plumful · 06/02/2024 20:21

My first was almost a fortnight early! So you never know.

GLC789 · 06/02/2024 20:25

@bbarbiecharley1 we did the mamas and papas session and bought the ocarro travel system. We paid a 10% deposit and arranged delivery for 4th April. We can pay the rest any time from now until 28 days before.

We did look online but tbh, by the time we found any close etc, we decided to just go with mamas. We got a £100.00 voucher too. And obv the warranty etc which you wouldn't get on Ebay etc.

Really happy with the service we received there xx

HopeAndChocolate · 09/02/2024 14:40

Well it’s just like everyone said. I had a great second trimester and as I rapidly approach the third trimester this Sunday, everything is hitting me at once. 😅 Really feeling all the extra weight now and the tiredness is back with a vengeance. Minor things are such an effort and the leg cramps at night are no fun! Hope everyone else is surviving! x

Plumful · 11/02/2024 17:31

I feel so down. I keep feeling like I want to burst into tears but I’m trying to hold it in in front of my little one. My husband is on a stag, planned long before my PGP got so severe so I’ve spent the weekend housebound with a 3 year old. I just feel so fed up.

HopeAndChocolate · 11/02/2024 21:56

Oh @Plumful I’m sorry, that’s so tough. You’re doing an incredible job handling the PGP alongside looking after your little one. How long is your husband away for? Do you have anyone that can come help to give you a bit of a break?

Plumful · 11/02/2024 22:06

My plans fell through. My daughter is cute and well behaved but so intense, I am exhausted, if I go to the toilet she follows me there, wants me to play constantly, I was counting down until bedtime. He is back tomorrow night thankfully.

barbiecharley1 · 21/02/2024 21:17

30 weeks!!

hope everyone is feeling ok?

i'm feel like im starting to burst, i can almost see my tummy move now from when i get kick from the inside Smile

also starting NCT in early March, looking forward to learning about how to birth and look after my baby as i still feel totally clueless!! people keep asking if im ready, but im just not sure!

my local hospital love me, scans every 2 weeks from now. (possible high blood pressure)

GLC789 · 23/02/2024 19:58

@barbiecharley1 can't believe how quick it's gong!!! 30+3 here!

All good here, how is everyone else?

New one for me this last two days...

My baby girk has discovered my ribs, and my cervix. These are her favourite places to kick 😂👀😂👀😂👀😂.

HopeAndChocolate · 23/02/2024 23:05

29+6 for me!

God I feel hefty! Everything is measuring fine so maybe it’s just being my first baby but I’m really noticing how much slower I am and how much effort the simplest things take. I can’t believe it could be another like 8-12 weeks of this. 😅

We start NCT early March too! I don’t know why I’m so nervous about it ha. Have been loving the Positive Birth Company’s hypnobirthing digital pack though.

GLC789 · 01/03/2024 09:39

Happy March everyone!!!

Who's starting their maternity leave this month?..

I've been crafty with holidays in advance so my last working day is 28th March. Never thought I'd say say this as I love my job, but I'm so, ready to say goodbye to work for. Year!! Xx

HopeAndChocolate · 01/03/2024 12:48

Happy March @GLC789! I was saying to my husband this morning how crazy that we could have a baby next month if he comes early! Am fully expecting to be waiting till May though. 😅

My first day of mat leave will be April 19th. Hoping I’l be able to survive until then as I’ll be 38 weeks but I do work from home so fingers crossed! Other than one week, I’ve saved the majority of my annual leave to carry over to next year to use after SMP ends so I can have 11 months off.

Interested to know what everyone else is doing! xx

GLC789 · 01/03/2024 13:06

@HopeAndChocolate the company I work for give long service staff extra hols. How convenient my pregnancy happened when it did. Extra four weeks off awarded! So I've got annual leave both sides of mat leave! I was delighted when they told me that haha!!

I've been a career girl since the age of 16 (20 years) in the same company and only now it's sunk in that I'm not going to be there for a bit over a year. I was worried at first, but I'm starting to look forward to a break from the corporate world now! I wonder what this version of me is like? We shall see! X

HopeAndChocolate · 01/03/2024 13:18

That’s amazing @GLC789! I got a long service award this year too and was chuffed to find out it would be an extra weeks leave but now I feel cheated haha! 😅 Still can’t complain as the timing has been. 👌🏻

I feel exactly the same, it’s a strange feeling isn’t it? I was worried I’d get FOMO but realised I’ll be way too busy for that ha. I do feel a bit weird having mat leave cover as the role feels like my baby! The interviews for that start soon actually… 🙈

GLC789 · 01/03/2024 14:45

@HopeAndChocolate it's crazy! We replaced me in January as my role needed a three month handover due to its technicality etc. But thankfully the person is already slaying. Which means I can start to take a backseat in March and ler her do her thing! X

HopeAndChocolate · 01/03/2024 14:50

Oh that’s great @GLC789! I’m curious, have you experienced any nerves around your mat leave cover? I dunno why (possibly imposter syndrome or something) but I feel worried that my cover will do a way better job than me and then everyone will want to keep them (even though legally they can’t ha). 🙈

GLC789 · 01/03/2024 15:18

@HopeAndChocolate at first I did. But, the company is going through something pretty exciting and huge during my leave. And I've got every confidence that when I return they will need both me and the person we took on to cover me. My role is pretty senior so even if they don't need me for the role I'm leaving behind, there will be a place for me at the same level.

There is also the thought in my mind that I might take an extra year unpaid (something we're allowed to do). But regardless the company policy is that your "level and position" cannot be taken/reduced/lost. Just the job you do may be different on return. I'm happy with that if this is the route I decide to take at them time.

HopeAndChocolate · 01/03/2024 21:26

@GLC789 Oh wow, sounds like a great place to work!

Iamcatmum · 02/03/2024 09:54

@GLC789 my last working day will also be the 28th! Have used a load of annual leave before my due date. Decided I wanted some time to myself before baby to focus on nesting and birth prep :)

@HopeAndChocolate my mat cover has about 25 years experience over me, so I’m sure they are going to smash it. They have to take me back at the end of mat leave rather than keep her 😂, so I’m trying not to worry to much about it
