Tentatively seeing if anyone else is due then yet?

I got a positive digital this morning and based on Ovulation I'd be due 30th April and 2nd May based on LMP, but until the dating scan that could easily change a week either way based on previous babies!

Hi all,

I’ve been quietly lurking in the background but really enjoying this thread. Am due another little boy on 1st May - have a son who’s 4 but since him have had 5 miscarriages so am a little on edge!

I just wondered if at the 16 week midwife appointment they listen to the heartbeat? I am 14 weeks and feel a bit in no-man’s land at the moment - 20 week scan so far away but can’t feel the baby moving yet. Want something to work tonwards 😊

Plumful · 03/11/2023 08:40

@Nynm23 sorry you feel so rough!
@Due1stmay with my first I had my 16 week done as a phone call because of bloody covid so no idea but I expect so?

Bourne90 · 03/11/2023 09:46

It depends on the midwife, most will, but some won't because there is a chance they can't find it on the handheld doppler so early and they don't want to cause more anxiety.

Plumful · 03/11/2023 13:42

I’m so busy with my toddler I keep forgetting I’m pregnant!

Nynm23 · 03/11/2023 15:10

@Plumful god I don’t know how you are doing it!

Thanks all for your well wishes, slightly better today but know it won’t last too long!

Plumful · 03/11/2023 16:03

@Nynm23 just so thankful that this time around I’ve had a better experience. I feel for you.

Momo88 · 03/11/2023 20:40

@Due1stmay My doctor said some women won't feel the baby until 20+ weeks, so sounds totally normal. You'll hopefully get lots or reassurance at your 16w appointment 😊

HopeAndChocolate · 07/11/2023 19:43

Evening! Anyone have any recommendations for small pregnancy supplements please? I really struggle with the big pregnacare ones, no idea why but they make me gag. 😅 I’m 14 weeks so I think it’s only vitamin d that is really required now? TIA!

Plumful · 07/11/2023 19:44

@HopeAndChocolate just get the standard vit D from Boots. Pregnacare are absolutely vile!!!

HopeAndChocolate · 07/11/2023 19:49

Thank you! Honestly they really are, don’t know what it is… x

GLC789 · 07/11/2023 22:53

@HopeAndChocolate the Holland and Barrett vit Ds are teeeeeny tiny, like smaller than the old contraceptive pill x

HopeAndChocolate · 08/11/2023 07:46

Thanks @GLC789! The smaller the better haha x

ManchesterRoad · 08/11/2023 10:48

Am I ok to join? Expecting my first baby at the end of April and feel a bit clueless 😂

HopeAndChocolate · 08/11/2023 13:55

Of course @ManchesterRoad - welcome and congratulations! How are you feeling? x

ManchesterRoad · 08/11/2023 15:10

Thanks @HopeAndChocolate I am finally starting to feel better at 16 weeks, I’ve managed 4 whole days without my anti sickness wristbands 😂

Plumful · 08/11/2023 20:07

Is anyone there? I’m scared. I’ve felt uncomfortable since about 2pm and had some painful cramps. Sorry for the tmi but I did a poo and felt a bit better but now when I wipe after a wee there’s light pink blood and I’m scared and don’t know whether to panic. I have never had any kind of spotting in my last pregnancy.

barbiecharley1 · 08/11/2023 22:07

Hello,

i'm 15+4, Due 30th April - first baby.
i'm 38.

feeling pretty relaxed about the whole thing.

try not to worry, see how you feel tomorrow. have you had any bleeding? and do you have a midwife appointment soon?
x

GLC789 · 08/11/2023 22:07

@Plumful sending a huge cuddle of encouragement. I had something similar a few days ago with the pain and the poo. But I didn't have pink spotting. I know Google isn't the answer but...I did find this the attached.

Might be worth a quick call to the midwife just to out your mind at rest, I would call if it were me.

Thank you for replying, I will definitely call.

Plumful · 08/11/2023 22:12

In the morning that should say.

GLC789 · 08/11/2023 22:15

@Plumful - done a little more digging and found this on a site too...

"The main cause of pregnancy spotting is irritation. “Spotting is not uncommon especially after things like intercourse or vigorous activity,” says Nwankwo. “Even straining with bowel movements can sometimes lead to spotting.” Your cervix tends to be more sensitive during pregnancy, making it more prone to irritation that can cause spotting. Other types of irritations that can lead to spotting include a transvaginal ultrasound or heavy lifting."

Plumful · 08/11/2023 22:25

@GLC789 oh thank you that does make me feel better. Hopefully I’ll feel much better in the morning.

GLC789 · 08/11/2023 22:26

@Plumful glad I could help a bit. Please let me know how you are tomorrow. Try and get yourself some rest tonight xx

Irish34 · 08/11/2023 22:32

@Plumful i can’t add anything because I haven’t had this but I am getting off cramping and stomach pains as well. I know on my last pregnancy group many had spotting with no issues etc. try not to worry hun.
