Tentatively seeing if anyone else is due then yet?

I got a positive digital this morning and based on Ovulation I'd be due 30th April and 2nd May based on LMP, but until the dating scan that could easily change a week either way based on previous babies!

Cheese on toast for all y meals, for a solid 48 hours here 😂

Work has been so busy, the good thing is that I’ve not been able to dwell too much on how I feel, and another week has passed very quickly. I have my booking appt this coming week and I guess they book the scan then too? My first was so different being in covid times.

HopeAndChocolate · 30/09/2023 15:44

@Plumful I don’t know if it’s different depending on the area you live but I got sent my scan appointment by post and when I rang to check about a booking appointment they said that was done separately by a community midwife and nothing to do with them. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ve still yet to have any contact about a booking appointment and I’ll be 9 weeks tomorrow.

My booking Appt is monday, and the midwife has told me that the scan etc will be triggered from that. So perhaps your area works similar to mine 😊.

Hope it all goes OK for you xx

I’m feeling so sick if I go more than two hours without eating, absolutely ridiculous what I’m putting away.

Nynm23 · 30/09/2023 21:02

@Plumful same here. And actually ravenous if I go more than 3 hours without something.

Hoping this dies down as I hit 2nd trimester

Plumful · 01/10/2023 07:05

@Nynm23 oh gosh I know what you mean!! I did manage to eat some fruit yesterday, and yoghurt, so something other than cheesy carbs

Robbo29 · 01/10/2023 08:19

Hi all,
New to this feed. I'm 8weeks+6. Due some time end April/early May. Midwife can't agree on a dd based on my early scan and LMP.

Very comforting to read all your experiences. I too feel like I'm sat on a boat 24/7. No actual vomiting but the most awful dry heaving and wretching that does bring a relief even if it is only for 5 mins.

Also eating like a horse. Only beige bland food, DH is convinced baby is going to look like a pringle 😂

Nice to meet you all! X

GLC789 · 01/10/2023 21:18

@Robbo29 welcome! And congratulations x

Iamcatmum · 01/10/2023 21:42

Welcome and congratulations @Robbo29 ! Same going on here with the dry heaving - counted 9 while I walked to the shop yesterday, and then countless times when I got back home. Only actually vomited 4 times - it’s so strange

Nynm23 · 03/10/2023 09:39

Girls made a terrible decision and weighed myself today. At a minimum I’ve put on 10lbs already at 10 weeks. I’m hoping the hunger dies down as I enter 2nd trimester!

lenalove · 03/10/2023 10:03

@Nynm23 Oh I feel you - I am DREADING being weighed at my 12 week scan to be honest. I have only been able to eat stodge, been too sick to exercise, and have to eat every 2 hours to avoid nausea...

Nynm23 · 03/10/2023 10:10

@lenalove im the exact same. Hoping second trimester I can get back to the gym and face better foods!

lenalove · 03/10/2023 10:15

@Nynm23 likewise! another issue for me is water makes me sick at the moment so I am constantly chugging sugar-filled juice and squash which is so not ideal. The alternative is to get dehydrated so just can't win!

HopeAndChocolate · 03/10/2023 12:47

Bless you @Nynm23 - I’ve been avoiding the scales myself because right now as I’m just eating whatever I can stomach and that’s never the good stuff. 🥲 I’m petite too so can only imagine what my BMI will say when the midwife appointment comes around. 🙃

Am also skipping exercise other than dog walks as nausea is just not on board with anything of that nature! I’m just trying to tell myself that it’s all only temporary and growing a baby is the only thing that matters right now! (within reason obvs ha)

Bourne90 · 03/10/2023 15:43

You get weighed at your booking appointment, but unless you're morbidly obese, they don't care and won't even mention it to you. If you have a few other risk factors, you might get referred for GD testing at 28 weeks, or put under consultant care (not that big of a deal). It won't come back up til bump measuring at 28 weeks, and even then its more a case of checking for high blood pressure and GD, rather than shaming or encouraging dieting purely for weight or anything.

It's still good to try to eat healthier things where you can, sneak veg into your favourite beige dishes, which is also great practice for fussy toddler years. But if you can't, simply surviving the roughest 14 weeks any way you can is perfectly acceptable and nothing to be ashamed of.

Plumful · 03/10/2023 18:50

I never weigh myself in pregnancy, it’s out of your control. If all you can do to survive is eating crisps, do it.

HopeAndChocolate · 04/10/2023 08:41

Anyone got any maternity bra recommendations please? Feel like it’s time. 😅

ttcthoughts · 04/10/2023 09:20

@HopeAndChocolate i have the m and s. I wire feeding bras and they are incredibly comfy 🙈🙈

Bourne90 · 04/10/2023 12:08

The seraphine ones are insanely comfy for maternity. BRAVADO! DESIGNS on Amazon are fab for support, breastfeeding and pumping with portable pumps like Elvie Stride, if you have larger boobs (E+).

Tbh, first time around, I just got bra extenders and stuck with my normal cotton wired bras until the third trimester because the maternity bras aren't exactly flattering under anything but maternity clothes 😅

Once I started harvesting colostrum, that's when I swapped to prevent duct issues and also swapped from normal clothes to maternity dresses for the last couple months.

Plumful · 04/10/2023 12:52

I just get the crop top type support from M&S. it’s so expensive to keep buying bras

Robbo29 · 04/10/2023 13:26

Calvin Klein have some really soft and comfortable maternity bras, pretty designs and colours too. I've also bought the M&S ones but the CK ones I've found are by far the comfiest.
