Tentatively seeing if anyone else is due then yet?

I got a positive digital this morning and based on Ovulation I'd be due 30th April and 2nd May based on LMP, but until the dating scan that could easily change a week either way based on previous babies!

I went off grid for a while because the anxiety was just getting to me. Hope everyone is doing ok.

8 weeks tomorrow and I've started to get some strong period like cramps. It's a bit unnerving tbh!

I've read a few threads that say it could be because it's when your second period is due. These cramp just feel more intense than the stretching cramps I've been having and they've lasted longer than before too. Anybody had this?

Two of my friends had a MC at 8 weeks so naturally I'm thinking this is it for me.

@Plumful @Nynm23 you’re right - just need to hang tight and trust the process. A couple of friends of mine have recently been through first trimester and had terrible sickness so I was fully expecting it to happen to me too. Just shows how different we all are.

Caved and booked a private scan for 9+5 next week!

Has anyone had dark brown discharge? I’m around 6-7 weeks and I’ve just wiped and there’s a lot of brown discharge, some bits quite dark. I’m so worried I’m going to have another miscarriage

I have the appetite of a horse. Can’t believe what I’m eating

@naggy095 not had any but I think a bit of brown discharge can be completely normal. I would maybe go in for a scan though just to be on the safe side.

@Plumful same because if I let myself get even the tiniest bit hungry I am instantly incredibly nauseous so it's a vicious cycle

Is anyone else sickest in the evening? By the time I go to bed I'm practically crawling on the floor I feel so awful...

@lenalove omg yes! It's worse in the evening for me too. Every night I'm crawling to bed by half 9. I'm normally a midnight kinda girl!

@naggy095 ive heard that can be normal but definitely check it out if you're not sure. Xx

@Iamcatmum hey, I've had very minimal symptoms. That's why I got an early scan as I was so worried! Everything is fine though so just counting myself lucky :)

@ThelastRolo20 thank you for the reassurance - glad your scan went well. I will try and count myself lucky on the symptoms too until I’ve had the scan :)

@naggy095 how are you doing this morning? I’ve not had experience with the brown discharge, I know it can be normal, but may be best to contact midwife/EPU just in case if you’re feeling worried

@Iamcatmum I’m ok this morning, my sickness has come back and I’ve been sick all day and haven’t had any more brown bleeding since last night. I’m still having cramps though and I’ve spoken to the EPU and they’ve said to be on bed rest until they can scan me on Friday so fingers crossed everything is ok 🤞🏼

@naggy095 I'm glad the bleeding has stopped. Try to rest as much as you can, Friday's not too far away (I'm sure it feels like it though!) X

Anyone else experiencing insomnia? Each night I wake up at 4am and can’t go back to sleep until 6. I’m 5.5 weeks. Weirdly I also don’t feel tired at all, if anything, I seem to have more energy than before getting pregnant 😆

Had my NHS scan appointment for next month through! But not my booking appointment. Have you had either of yours through @GLC789?

@HopeAndChocolate nothing through for me on either front yet.

When I registered the pregnancy, the midwife said I'd probably be contacted around the 9 week mark to arrange booking appointment (10 weeks). So I'm not expecting to hear anything for another week yet.

I hate this waiting mind. It's horrid, even after having a private early scan lol!

Do you have your local MV service contact number? May be worth ringing seeing as you've had the scan Appt. Exciting though! When is your scan? (if you're happy to share that is) xx

The insomnia is all too real here! Unfortunately, I'm not blessed with the energy you're getting though! I think I'm jealous of you 💗💙💗 xxx

Ah ok @GLC789 - I think I was just curious as I read the sickle cell and thalassaemia screenings are supposed to happen before 10 weeks. Still time, think I’m just a bit keen ha. Think I will give the maternity unit a ring though!

It’s on the 18th October though I also have an early scan next Wed!

Symptoms - heartburn and sickness are rife last day or two. I feel so blessed 👀😂🤢.

Is anyone else experiencing extreme nausea without actually being sick? All day every day, feel like I'm on a boat 😭nothing at all is helping either, I basically feel like lying in a ball and not moving but have to go to work!

Sorry to hear this @lenalove, sounds awful. Poor you! I’m still early and only get the first signs of light nausea, trying to brace myself for what’s yet to come. Have you tried any medication?

@HopeAndChocolate I havent got mine through yet and Im currently 7 weeks I chased them and they said 10 weeks as they have a back log...

Did anyone have their first NHS appointment yet? I’m booked at my maternity hospital for when I will be 8 weeks. What happens at this first appointment? And are partners welcome to attend?
