I'm 24 weeks today 🎉 it feels like such a milestone! I'm hoping baby will be here before Christmas. I'll be 38 weeks on the 20th December and I usually have my c sections during my 38th week.

I ordered a second hand pram yesterday. I decided not to pay for a new one because no doubt I'll be fed up of the big bulky pram in a few weeks and want a more simple stroller once baby can sit up.

Flossiepot · 13/09/2023 08:27

Ahhh speaking of baby rooms is exciting.
Ours is currently the junk room but we're both off next week so the aim is to clear and get painting 🥰 So excited to start prepping and to have somewhere to put all the baby things we have so far

Bims2019 · 13/09/2023 08:32

Our spare bedroom is also nowhere near nursery ready, it's currently a dumping ground for washing! We need to have a serious clear out or not sure we'll be able to fit any baby stuff in.

Mummyme87 · 13/09/2023 09:07

baby won’t have a room in this house. We’re planning to move next year so no point. Will put changing table in the spare room and cosleeper obvs in with us.

walking to the dentist now for hygienist. Bit anxious about my wisdom tooth as it bleeds a lot when I brush it and I think could be causing my jaw pain.
couldn’t drive as car gone in for MOT this morning, and my pelvis and lower back just so painful. Bit worried how I’m going to cut it for another 12weeks at work!!!

RaspberryTime · 13/09/2023 09:17

Baby’s room cleared here but still needs decorating as it’s dreadful currently! Biggest issue for me right now is my belly button…I can’t stand anything touching it, especially clothing seams, so getting dressed for work is near impossible.

LittleAlien24 · 13/09/2023 11:13

@EL27 i still have pram from my last daughter who's 16 😁 bought another one with carrycot for first 6 months and to use the frame for car seat and we bought it together with car seat when i was only 14 weeks. Have cot aswell up in our bedroom lol i like to sort things out early
@PartRadish good to hear your scan went well. Im injecting myself with the blood thinners, same on my last pregnancy. Absolutely hate them 😩
@Sambeaumont i wash them as i get them. Will probably start with my hospital back at end of October after im back from my trip.
@Vikki7 that's so sweet.
Im due on 13 January but they want to schedule my csection for about a week before. We would really like it on due date because our wedding date will be 13 aswell just a different month, so would be nice but my ob doesn't agree lol

No baby room in this house because the house needs renovating and the minute it's done it's going up for sale. And my oh goes back to work to another country when baby is about 3 months old so at least I've some company with me 😁

buckingmad · 13/09/2023 11:19

Finally feeling I’m turning a corner mastitis wise praise the lord.

I can’t believe how much colostrum I’m leaking this early on, from both boobs! Off to buy breast pads today. From memory last time the lanisoh ones were like little clouds of comfort in my bra.

Kalodin · 13/09/2023 11:37

Hopefully you make a rapid recovery now @buckingmad

GL at the dentist @Mummyme87 - bloody hate going (getting crown finally done tomorrow). Just hope that your pelvis and back doesn't decline anymore 🤞

No baby room here, not yet anyway. Renovating the house and still unsure if we can stay tbh! Mortgage going from £800pcm to £1600pcm next month 🤢

Just waiting for my cervical length scan. I feel so small. I know I don't know how far anyone else is in this room, but I feel tiny! I was also comparing bump pics to last 3 pregnancies and I'm definitely smaller.

I want my 20 week scan to hurry up so I know baby is all okay. Might ask today if they can do a check there on baby

buckingmad · 13/09/2023 11:44

@Kalodin try not to put too much thought in to your bump size! I’m 23 weeks and I’ve literally doubled in size in the last week, it can change so quickly and everyone is so different! And every pregnancy is so different!

I always carry quite neat and small but last baby was a perfectly average size. My friend didn’t look huge yet created a 10 and a half pounder!

MrsJ6921 · 13/09/2023 11:45

I’m nearly 24 weeks and we’ve made a start on the nursery. My DH and FIL panelled and painted it so we’re all ready for the furniture to go in.

The next to me crib is in our bedroom already and we have our Moses basket being delivered this week for downstairs. We live in a townhouse with our bedroom at the very top of the house so it’s not practical to the next to me downstairs everyday.

We built the bouncer yesterday and I’ve barely got any fingers left. I’m not sure why these things aren’t already fully assembled! But I’m so happy with it, can’t wait to see her sit in it.

PartRadish · 13/09/2023 12:15

Hope your scan goes well @Kalodin 🤞

No baby room here either. We're in a three bed. Eldest has his own room, younger two boys share and baby will be in with us. We are planning to move but we only bought this house in January, had various works and the kitchen done in April, and found out I was very unexpectedly pregnant in May 😅 So realistically we can't afford to sell for a few years. We tend to co-sleep for ages anyway so I'm sure it'll be fine.

Kalodin · 13/09/2023 12:40

Hmmm scan wasn't quite as good as I had hoped but also not as worrisome as it could be.

Cervix measured 30mm which consultant wasn't happy with it as that's the cusp of which they offer the stitch in this Trust (when paired with my history). He spoke through the options and I've decided to go wait another fortnight to be re scanned then, if ifs gone before 28mm then I said I'll opt for the stitch.

He also is aware that we are approaching the time when I first started going into labour and said I should call triage as soon as I feel anything abnormal.

Really don't want another premature baby. Dr said he will be surprised, given the rate at which my cervix is shortening, if I make it to 33 weeks.

LittleAlien24 · 13/09/2023 13:10

@Kalodin i know the feeling about feeling small. Went to my 20 week scan and was thinking should i even be there lol everyone around me was looking obviously pregnant and when i sat down i just looked fat 😂 but think week after that i just suddenly popped quite a bit even tho im still smaller as well than my 2 previous pregnancies.
Hope you can hold on a bit more.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 13/09/2023 13:24

@Kalodin I'm glad your cervical scan went okay-ish and they're keeping an eye on you. Did you get to see baby also?

Kalodin · 13/09/2023 13:26

Thank you @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 And @LittleAlien24

Yeah I get to see baby each time @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 which I nice, but they didn't have time to check lengths etc. DR did remind me it's only tomorrow when I have my 20 week scan. Baby was very low and very much on my cervix.

PartRadish · 13/09/2023 14:41

Sorry was it wasn't better news @Kalodin 30mm without funneling at 20ish weeks would still be considered fine in our trust, but like you say taking your history in to account does make it more concerning. If it helps reassure, I found having the stitch put in much more straightforward than I expected. I'm a giant wuss and was terrified but it really was fine physically, mentally was rougher but physically it was okay. But hopefully it won't come to that anyway! Have they given you progesterone now?

Kalodin · 13/09/2023 15:30

No they still haven't @PartRadish and I didn't think to ask. It wasn't my usual Dr today, she's on annual leave, so was one of her colleagues, so I was all a bit out of sorts with that change. Thank you for the reassurance that the stitch was okay physically, was you put under GA for it? I'm so unsure about doing that.

Mummyme87 · 13/09/2023 15:45

@Kalodin sorry the scan didn’t go aswell as you hoped, but 30mm is still decent. Fingers crossed for a long cervix on the next check. My trust is a spinal for cervical suture to be put in

Kalodin · 13/09/2023 16:08

See I don't think I could cope with a spinal and Dr says that they do either or here @Mummyme87 . I've had such terrible experiences with.

PartRadish · 13/09/2023 17:21

I had a spinal @Kalodin but they gave me the option of GA if I'd wanted it.

Mummyme87 · 13/09/2023 18:53

God I’m really questioning my decision to have another baby right now. My eldest is just an absolute pain in the arse (that’s me being polite). Can’t wait for him to go to bed tonight

Luhou · 13/09/2023 19:14

@Mummyme87 I feel you. How old is your eldest? I over did it this morning with housework, food shopping and walk to the park. Been exhausted since 3pm. She hasn't been badly behaved today but just todler raising and baby growing is exhausting!

Mummyme87 · 13/09/2023 19:36

@Luhou he’s 9. They don’t get any bloody easier. I overdid it aswell, was totally broken by school run time. Asked him to do homework and boom, screaming match commenced. It was 10-15mins on a bloody app, it was hardly writing essays. Then I cried, a lot.

Luhou · 13/09/2023 19:53

It's tough. Hope you can get an early night in or some time to yourself x

Dannic2018 · 13/09/2023 19:57

@Kalodin sorry today wasn’t a great day and fingers crossed all will be ok.
@Mummyme87 I feel you on the what are we doing 🤣 I have a 18 and nearly 16 then a toddler who’s wild and think wow I must need my head testing, especially when you have hardly any sleep with said nearly 3 year old. Doesn’t help the house is an absolute shit storm with renovations. Just think we can have wine again in a few months 🤷‍♀️🤣
