@RG9895 def more active days then followed by less active days for baby, def not regular yet! But feeling more and more movements, depends on so many things as well, but I def also panic if he's been quieter!

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I'm going off on 18th dec so far that's the plan, using 2 weeks of holiday to take me to new year then Mat leave, but I assume most of us who are due earlyish Jan won't be going back after Xmas! I've got 13-14 weeks to go at work! That seems crazy to me

@Mummyme87 good tip, I'll keep an eye out for bargains, I'm just worried I'll have far too much stuff when the time comes but I was looking at nappies earlier and jeez it's a lot you need 😂 I know some of you are doing reusable and I initially thought that as well but it's so much washing and we don't have a tumble drier in the winter I struggle to dry things inside so I don't need any more washing 😂😂

Mushroo · 06/09/2023 16:59

Yup, similarly to @suz2285 im due early Jan (the first!) so not going back after Xmas. I finish 15 December so have about 14 weeks left 😬, loads to do!

lilluce95 · 06/09/2023 17:00

I have 18 weeks left, will be going on mat leave when I'm 38+4 but I work from home so it's not too bad!

Still no movement for me at all yet 😩

Mummyme87 · 06/09/2023 17:12

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I’ve bought a few new nappies which were reduced but need to get my old ones out aswell give them some good washes.

I’m going to start annual leave 11th December which will be 35+weeks, can’t work any later than that, couldn’t hack it. Mat leave will kick in week of Christmas I think. Plus gives me time to get sorted before Christmas and school holidays

Salamander91 · 06/09/2023 17:15

@Mummyme87 embarrassingly I'm in NI so we've only had 24 degrees and I'm still roasting. I couldn't cope at all in 31 😱

I'll be having my section at around 38 weeks so I only have 15 weeks left until baby is here. I really need to get organised. It seems to be going so fast now!

Luhou · 06/09/2023 17:19

Can't cope with this heat. Too hot!

Planning on going on leave around 35 weeks, 14 weeks to go and so much to do. No mat cover currently organised 🙈

Mummyme87 · 06/09/2023 17:25

@Salamander91 24degrees is still pretty warm although I could only dream of that right now. It’s not going to start dropping until Monday 🫠 I’m in Rhodes in October but that’s different, there’s a pool and sea!!

Salamander91 · 06/09/2023 17:33

@Mummyme87 Rhodes sounds lovely! I might take the kids swimming on Saturday just so I can sit in the pool for a while 😂

HopeAndStrength · 06/09/2023 17:34

I need to have a think about maternity leave soon, I'm 20 weeks and just found out we are having a boy x

suz2285 · 06/09/2023 17:44

@Salamander91 I'm in Scotland it's not even as high as 18 and I'm too hot! Do not cope well in the heat, my feet are swollen and I can't wait to dig out the jumpers tbh 😂

FirstT1meMum · 06/09/2023 18:24

@RG9895 with movements I tend to only really notice her when I get into bed and then she seems to really go for it! Not too sure if it's because I'm busy in the day and don't notice as she's still so small!

I mentioned at work earlier this week I only have 14 teaching weeks left (after this one) and a half term!! 🫣 And that's working up until I'm 37 weeks 😳

Has anyone heard about not using baby powder? Such a strange question I know! Someone else I know who is a lot further along mentioned that they were told it's advised not to be used now? Just wondering if anyone else heard this?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 06/09/2023 18:43

@Mummyme87 this place goes gorgeous nappies and always has a good sale on. The 2 in 1s are my fave and ❤️ the prints babybarenappies.co.uk/collections/our-sale-items

Kalodin · 06/09/2023 19:03

Congratulations on your boy @HopeAndStrength

Absolutely crazy thinking about how long left until mat leave! Work have already started preparing for my return, putting in programmes for projects they hope I'll be returning to.

I'm very grateful that I work I'm an air conditioned office so been keeping cool. Bit worried about the weekend though as that will be 29c still!

Anyone got any links to positive planned c-section vlogs ?

Mummyme87 · 06/09/2023 19:04

@FirstT1meMum I’ve never used baby powder, you can get talc free powder but its not necessary for a baby.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 my favourites are baby & boo pockets and TotsBots AIO

sashastuck · 06/09/2023 19:31

@RG9895 similar boat as you, been feeling daily movement/stronger movement for about 3 weeks but some days definitely more active than others. Not sure if there’s a correlation but for the last 3 days I’ve been back at work, I’ve felt him a little more in the day but less at night 🤷🏻‍♀️ think he’s gone low down again.

15 weeks left of school for me (well 14 teaching weeks) if I make it to 38 weeks! It’s mad!

MrsJ6921 · 06/09/2023 19:41

I got sent home today from work due to the weather so happy days. I’m finishing work on the 17th December so 14 weeks to go 🎉

Sambeaumont · 06/09/2023 20:31

Sorry if this is tmi but has anyone suffered with constipation?? Had a few times when I've really struggled xx

Luhou · 06/09/2023 20:34

@Sambeaumont yes to constipation. I can't seem to find a middle ground. Either loose or constipated.

JaffaCake123 · 06/09/2023 20:41

I am not enjoying this heat, it is making me irrationally angry.
On a more positive subject I just ate an ice cream and it really got the baby wriggling which was lovely.

sashastuck · 06/09/2023 21:09

@Sambeaumont ohhhh yes. A mug of nettle tea works for me about 75% of the time x

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 06/09/2023 21:48

@Mummyme87 the baba + boo look so nice!

FirstT1meMum · 06/09/2023 21:57

@Mummyme87 ah okay fair enough thank you!

@Sambeaumont yes I've struggled all the way through! Sometimes get tricked into thinking I'm back to regular but nope 🙈

lucya66 · 06/09/2023 22:54

Hiya just catching up as I’m away in Cornwall on holiday this week. Loving the weather!

my new symptom this week is a tightness across my belly skin. The skin is stretching and I can feel aches radiating from my belly button. No discernible stretch marks yet, but I’m using the la Roche posay ciclaplast balm twice a day which soothes it a bit, but doesn’t stop the pain.

I’ve always had a bit of a wobbly belly so this is the first week my skin has been really taught / tight across my belly. I’m 23w4d today.

anyone else having skin stretching pains?

suz2285 · 07/09/2023 06:03

@lucya66 yeah my belly skin is starting to feel really tight at night when I have had my dinner I feel huge! 😂 I was hoping cos I'd been fat before and have stretch marks from that that I'd be ok and not get any new ones but I don't know at this rate! It feel different from a fat stomach 😂 it's hard and stretchy! I haven't bothered with any creams yet as I know genetically I get stretch marks so easily, but I might start some cream if it gets uncomfy!

RaspberryTime · 07/09/2023 06:54

@lucya66 Yes to stretching and also to discomfort in/around belly button. Tbh, belly buttons make me squeamish so I’m dealing with it badly 😂
