@FirstT1meMum yup, same here, especiallythe past 3 weeks have flown!!!! We were back in Friday and then another inset tomorrow. Children are in Tuesday.

Hi @STSJ90 and welcome! don't worry about looking little, I can't remember what thread (maybe 3 or 4) it was but I shared a bump photo of me at 20 week with ds I didn't show really until 28ish weeks, I just looked a bit bloated until then. I believe it's a sign of strong stomach muscles. Otoh this time I was showing very early, although Friday our office manager said she was expecting me to be huge after 6 weeks of not seeing me and was disappointed in me 🤣

MrsJ6921 · 03/09/2023 17:31

@STSJ90 I honestly think some people when they encounter a pregnant woman lose the ability to just say something normal. I wouldn’t pay too much attention to what they’re saying 😊.

Mummyme87 · 03/09/2023 17:49

@FirstT1meMum as a none teaching member of staff I can’t bloody wait until my kids are back Wednesday. It’s been a long long 6weeks.

@STSJ90 I don’t know why people feel the need to comment on bump sizes. It means nothing. I’m getting the opposite, people saying I must be due soon etc, it’s incredibly irritating

lilluce95 · 03/09/2023 17:59

@Mummyme87 is the Baby and Toddler show any good? I've bought tickets for the Stoneleigh one but unsure what to expect! Me and DP (this does mean darling partner, right? Haha) think it will be good for us as we don't have a clue with what to buy still 😂

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 03/09/2023 18:06

@STSJ90 welcome. It's always a worry isn't it. I had small femurs in my last pregnancy, from my 28 week scan, and was so scared. How small were the femurs compared to the other measurements? Have they said if they'll monitor further?

Ours were more of a problem because he was 90th centile plus for head and abdomen, but femurs got to be about 4th centile at one point. We had scans every two weeks and with fetal medicine, they thought it was asymmetrical growth restriction in the end, and he was born at 37 weeks. However until that point we were told it could be various things and were terrified. Anyway he's now 60th centile at 18 months and apparently it's very common for small long bone measurements not to mean much at all.

Mummyme87 · 03/09/2023 18:19

@lilluce95 I’ve never been to the Baby and Toddler show, only The Baby Show but the exhibitors look more or less the same. I love them, loads of absolute rubbish that you don’t need but it’s a fun day out, makes it feel very exciting and you always end up getting some bits. We got our cosleeper crib there with quite a decent discount

sashastuck · 03/09/2023 18:40

@FirstT1meMum Gosh yes! Dreading going back especially because of my commute but knowing we’ve only got to keep going until Christmas is getting me through. Tried on my entire work wardrobe today to see what still fits, I’ll be wearing some of those tops to the bitter end 😂

Welcome @STSJ90! I’ve got no experience with the small measurements etc yet but I do wish people wouldn’t comment on bumps. A man at the car dealership said I looked small even though I KNOW I’m not - it’s weird how it gets to you!! Honestly don’t worry, baby will be perfect x

Anyone going to the Baby and Toddler show at Sandown Park? I got free tickets through Emma’s Diary but want to go to the Baby Show as well, extra 😂😂 great idea to get measured there @Mummyme87 I’ll do that if it’s offered

Luhou · 03/09/2023 18:47

Lidl have got a baby and todler event on this week, might be useful to some! Brochure on website.

FirstT1meMum · 03/09/2023 18:55

The Sunday night dread is back 🤣 also got my anomaly scan take two tomorrow afternoon!

We did the baby and toddler show in Liverpool when I was only about 8/9 weeks as there wasn't another local to us until November time. It was a really lovely day out and had loads of stalls and freebies!

Mummyme87 · 03/09/2023 19:02

@sashastuck I’m doing sandown aswell 👍

FirstT1meMum · 03/09/2023 22:10

Had the most magical moment tonight, relaxing in pj's earlier and said to DH just put your hand here and you can feel where she is based on how hard my tummy is and she kicked and he could feel her 😍🥺😍 she then carried on and he could feel lots! So amazing as I wasn't expecting him to be able to feel anything for another couple of weeks!

Also, we've ordered a snuzpod4 tonight from vinted for £50 that's practically brand new so could be a good place to look for bits like that too! I also think Aldi have a small baby event on atm

Mummyme87 · 03/09/2023 22:40

That’s lovely @FirstT1meMum OH hasn’t felt baby here yet, every time I say feel baby move they stop 😬😂

anyone got scans this week? I’ve got mine on Friday! So looking forward to it, I’ll be 21+6 🥰

FirstT1meMum · 03/09/2023 22:53

@Mummyme87 it's taken a few days as either he's been asleep or I've not been quick enough to tell him 🙈 Hoping this week goes quick for you!

buckingmad · 04/09/2023 06:42

@STSJ90 my first baby had a small head, big tummy and small femur on the 20 week scan and she came out perfectly fine.

and I’m another small bumper! Everyone carries differently. I just make neat bumps! My DD was born a week early at 7.1lbs so a pretty average size despite my “small” bump.

Dannic2018 · 04/09/2023 09:21

@Mummyme87 I’m excited for you it feels like it’s been ages for you ❤️
@FirstT1meMum thats so lovely, my hubby has felt her the last few days too and it makes it all feel even more real
also love vinted and I’m all for pre loved 🥰

Mummyme87 · 04/09/2023 11:55

@Dannic2018 it has been ages!! Well 9weeks which isn’t that long but feels forever, especially when the kids are off.

I’m not going to cope with this heat this week, I was all ready for autumn!!!

TunnocksTCake · 04/09/2023 12:56

I had someone comment on my bump at theweekend too - not seen her for ages, but fisrt thing she said was 'Congratulations - not long to go then?' and I was like... 'Im 21 weeks so a fair while..' ended up getting embarassed and rambling some rubbish about how I carry big. Was not what I needed after trying on a dress I had bought for a wedding on the 9th and finding it no longer fits! Feeling like a huge whale :(

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 04/09/2023 13:07

@TunnocksTCake don't worry I'm huge also. People have been congratulating me since about 14 weeks. It's my second but I carried big with my first also. My lower moment was having almost exactly the same due date as another bridesmaid, and yet she fitted into her normal dress perfectly and I had to pay to get mine altered and remade somewhat to a wrap dress and have multiple people I don't know congratulating me at the wedding and saying i must be giving birth soon. Nope, only about half way through!

lilluce95 · 04/09/2023 13:18

@Mummyme87 thank you!! Sounds like it will be fun then 😆

Good luck for your scan this week, mines on Thursday 🥰

lilluce95 · 04/09/2023 13:21

I've been experiencing heart palpitations the last few days - like noticeably. I've not had any other symptoms though but don't know whether to get it checked or not? (I know it's kind of normal but it's scary haha) x

TunnocksTCake · 04/09/2023 13:22

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 Ive got a similar situation - another of the NCT mums is due within days of me and honestly you coudlnt tell she was pregnant. I am well aware she is probably feeling anxious about being too small but still you cant help comparing!

Lightningrain · 04/09/2023 13:27

It’s so funny how people feel the need to comment on bump size.

I’ve had the opposite as mine just looks like bloat rather than a bump. People keep saying I don’t look like I’m more than halfway through.

Either way it seems to be just a thing that people like to comment on. Maybe an awkward way of making conversation about the pregnancy?

Matildahoney · 04/09/2023 13:55

I get shocked people all round when I tell them I'm not due until Jan! But I've heard you can show more if you've recently lost weight due to muscle memory, and I lost 2 stone before I fell! This is my first so nothing to compare it with!

Luhou · 04/09/2023 14:00

Also looking like a whale. Daunted by the thought of only being half way!

Mummyme87 · 04/09/2023 14:27

@lilluce95 I usually suffer really badly with palpitations in pregnancy from 16weeks, ended up under cardiology last time but luckily didn’t need treatment in the end. I’ve had a couple of episodes this pregnancy in the last few weeks but not enough for me to mention to maternal medicine (I saw them early on due to previous). I would suggest if they are very frequent or making you feel unwell have a chat with your triage/helpline. We advise to go to A&E but everyone has different set ups. It is a normal phenomenon in pregnancy however with the odd few which are abnormal
