Thank you everyone! It's so lovely to have this group and share experiences, it really helps me to feel less alone ❤️

Lightningrain · 01/09/2023 16:00

@FirstT1meMum I’m 22+1 and have only just started feeling any sort of movement over the last couple of days. It’s like little pulses so I’m still at the point where I’m wondering if it’s definitely baby.

My midwife said they don’t ask you to track movements until much further down the line so try not to worry. I’m sure they won’t mind you calling if you are concerned though.

Luhou · 01/09/2023 17:00

My movements have lessened the last few days also, good to hear others are finding movements eratic at this stage.

FirstT1meMum · 01/09/2023 17:08

@Lightningrain I'm only 21+5 so knew it was probably too early, just like to double check with like minded people! Just can't wait for the day there's no so much guess work - although DH says I will regret wanting it when she's giving my bladder a good going at 🤣

@Luhou it's so crazy isn't it!

lilluce95 · 01/09/2023 18:50

@FirstT1meMum this is my first baby too and I also have anterior placenta and I've not felt a thing yet! So you're definitely not alone 😅

Luhou · 01/09/2023 18:51

Anybody else really struggling with lower back pain?

Mummyme87 · 01/09/2023 19:50

Just got free tickets for the Baby and Toddler show at Sandown for the end of the month. Was going to do Olympia but the dates were tricky and the exhibitors seem the same. I used code SPB30 for free ones, they are limited apparently, and if none left SPB24 for two for £16

RG9895 · 01/09/2023 22:34

Needed to share somewhere... I just saw a kick from the outside, grabbed my husbands hand and he felt it too 🥹 I'm only 21+3 and have an anterior placenta! Hope this gives you all hope that you will feel your babies soon 🥰

Anybody else really struggling with lower back pain?

Terribly! Been unable to sit up for more than an hour or walk more than 15 minutes for a week now. Only lying down is pain free. Not really sciatica, I think it might be a sacroiliac joint thing. Had a couple of physio sessions and it’s not as terrible as it was but it’s still making life pretty difficult. Going to an important family wedding today and not quite sure how I’m going to cope. I have a pregnancy belt which helps a bit but any advice is very welcome!

buckingmad · 02/09/2023 07:44

Lord give me the strength to not go upstairs and throttle my husband.

I’ve had a shock bereavement this week plus a fungal infection in my boob. I’ve been avoiding using the steroid cream the dr gave me because I had a reaction to one when I was younger so I know my boob is making me extra cranky. DD had me up at 6 as usual and I’ve been tidying/cleaning/laundry/bins/feeding the pets since then. Just gone up to our room to get dirty washing and DH says groggily from his slumber “can you shut the door please”. Bearing in mind he’s had better sleep than me, DD didn’t stir during the night and I was tossing and turning with pregnancy hip pain.

Do I feel bad for making noise. No. Am I now stomping around making extra noise? Yes.

Think I’m going to admit defeat and try a little bit of the cream though. It’s been 3 days now and it’s no better (or worse Tbf). It’s a very weird feeling, it almost feels like I’m letting down milk. I keep looking down in a panic that I’m leaking.

Kalodin · 02/09/2023 09:25

Hey @Luhou I was listening to a podcast yesterday about lower back pain in pregnancy! She was advising about focusing on posture and doing exercises to support your glutes and hamstrings to help. That'd assuming your back pain is muscular and not that dull ache of a UTI?

So so exciting when you can share the movements together isn't it @RG9895

Best of luck at the wedding today @thsv hope you enjoy it and are okay

Sometimes people are just clueless @buckingmad

LittleAlien24 · 02/09/2023 09:32

Regarding movements then nothing regular here (im 21 weeks today). Even if i get something it's just a bubble, no kicks.
Haven't had back pain until yesterday but it was because i was sitting in hospital from 10.40 until 13.15 😏 so obviously this long sitting caused it and im worried now because soon I've over 10h car drive (driving myself) plus 23h ferry on top of that 🙄

Dannic2018 · 02/09/2023 09:39

@RG9895 aw how lush! I’ve tried to put my hubbys hand on my belly and he’s not felt anything, then last night in bed I tried and he said felt her! He said is that her moving? Yes babe 🤣 he was like aw hi Rosie and I felt that lovely rush of love.

@buckingmad I feel you, I live in a house filled with lazy bloody people. You get fed up don’t you and feel like all you do is nag!

Ive got thrush again 😩
def think it’s something to do with a low lying placenta or carrying a girl as never suffered with it with my two sons

LittleAlien24 · 02/09/2023 10:01

@Dannic2018 i did have thrush through out my 2 previous pregnancies (both girls) and now with this little boy im having, i have nothing, yet. Don't know are you using them but just a thought... i did notice that even when i wasn't pregnant i got thrush when using pantyliners, so had to stop using them.

RG9895 · 02/09/2023 10:25

@Kalodin it so is! He's been waiting very patiently to feel her haha sometimes I think he thinks I'm lying that I can feel her so at least he knows shes kicking around in there now too 😂

@Dannic2018 awww lovely! 🥹 I'm gonna get him to try again tonight for some more kicks!

I feel like I'm really enjoying pregnancy now! The first trimester was not fun 🤢 but growing and feeling movement is just bloody amazing!!!

Luhou · 02/09/2023 10:59

@Kalodin thanks for the tip. We've been away so think not sleeping in my own bed, doing more walking etc hae played a big part.

@buckingmad sorry you're having a crap time. If it was me I'd layout the sittuation as you have to us and tell him he absolutely needs to pull his weight. Set aside at least 2hrs this afternoon where he takes DD, while you rest.

buckingmad · 02/09/2023 16:52

Thanks for letting me moan. I took DD shopping and picked up some vinted parcels. I also used the cream I was prescribed and got myself some new bras. I’m feeling much better now 😂

Also made some cookies and trying not to eat all of them.

Hummusanddipdip · 02/09/2023 17:33

@buckingmad you're allowed to vent off anger and frustration, so moan away!!!

Has the cream helped any? I need to go bra shopping (again) this is the second set of new bras including mat bras that I've grown out of 🤦‍♀️

Enjoy your cookies!!!

I have severe guilt at the moment and I don't know what to do. pretty outing if you know me 🤣
Ds starts school on Tuesday, we have everything in place for pick up and drop off, but I'm not doing any of it (I've been telling myself it's ok, I'll be there every single day after Christmas) and I thought I'd made peace with it until one of the women I work with asked me if I was taking him... I burst into tears and she took me to see our head and asked him on my behalf if i could leave early to do collection, while I tried not to cry. He said it was fine as long as I clear it with my class teacher.

I now feel incredibly guilty because she is a new teacher to the school and it feels mean just leaving her to do home time without support, but equally I feel guilty that I'm not there for my son... I don't know what to do?

buckingmad · 02/09/2023 17:48

@Hummusanddipdip i think it’s stopped it getting worse which is something. Will have another shower before bed, wash with my boiled salt water and reapply cream again and hopefully wake up with normal boobs again.

I really resented handing over £45 for 2 bras at m&s today (although they are sooo soft and comfy and it’s lovely not seeing my nipple trying to escape cause they’re 3 sizes too small). Especially as I know they will then be too small when my milk comes in but then too big when I stop feeding. So literally will do me for the next 20 weeks and then be useless to me. Ah well.

then I came home to a letter from the hospital with my first sweep appointment! 2nd Jan 2:20 😂 what a way to bring in 2024. I’ll be 39 weeks.

I think I’m going to book reflexology for a few days after, anyone done it before?

RaspberryTime · 02/09/2023 18:08

For anyone asking about bras, these seam free ones from Primark have been a godsend for me. They are ridiculously comfortable. I would definitely recommend. 3 for £11 so good value too.

Re Bras, I love the Hotmilk ones. They have good magnetic clasps for nursing, and masses of hooks at the back. You can get under wired, non-underwired and Demi-underwired. I found the ones I bought last time lasted me for third trimester and nursing, and I've been back in them now for a few weeks. They're pretty as well.

Mummyme87 · 03/09/2023 09:55

Yes also a big fan of hot milk bras. I got measured at the baby show in last pregnancy, she said 28weeks is the best time to get measured for bras that should fit post birth also. I will need new ones this time as worse them
for over 2years but definitely recommend and often have sales on

FirstT1meMum · 03/09/2023 13:46

Added our moses basket onto our furniture and pram order this morning 😍
And after my panic of little movement Friday, felt lots more movement this weekend - definitely keeping me on my toes 🤣🤣

Any other school staff dreading the return tomorrow?! Where did the summer holidays go? Crazy to think I've only got 1 term to work 😳

STSJ90 · 03/09/2023 16:18

Hi everyone,

I’m new here, hope it’s okay to join!

had my 20 week scan last week and baby is a bit on the small side. One thing that worried me is his femur length is measuring really small. However I’ve done lots of research and it seems quite a common thing so calmed down a bit.

whenever someone asks me how far gone I am they always say they’re really surprised as I’m so small..I don’t feel it! Other people’s reactions are starting to worry me a bit also. Is anyone else having a similar experience? X

Ttcdcno1 · 03/09/2023 16:49

@FirstT1meMum yeah not quite sure where they’ve gone- blink and they’re over! 😂
