@buckingmad I'm so sorry. Like others have said, I'm sure your baby is fine, please just look after yourself and take some time to recover and process the shock and grief

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 31/08/2023 13:58

Good luck @Mummyme87, I've never heard of a butt scan before, but hope it's not unpleasant.

I just heard back I don't have gestational diabetes this time around (yet...). Means I need to be retested, but for now I can eat normally. Also found out I'm having a girl.

TunnocksTCake · 31/08/2023 14:07

So sorry @buckingmad its horrid getting news like that at work. I am sure baby is fine but do go for reassurance if needed, the last thing you need is to be worried about baby too.

I am finally getting daily movements which is just wonderful, really want DH to feel it too but havent managed to be in the right place at the right time yet!

Good luck with your scan @Mummyme87 that sounds really unpleasant!

Mummyme87 · 31/08/2023 14:27

Sorry to hear your news @buckingmad baby will be absolutely fine. We’re you able to go home from work to rest?

my bum scan all went well. Wasn’t the most pleasant of experiences however no defects internally, she said whoever did my suturing did an amazing job as no evidence of 3rd degree tear. And it seems to be working fine just need to work on my pelvic floor.. I was like, well yeeaaaah 😝 so chuffed about that, should mean all good for vaginal birth.

my BFF had her baby today. Estimated 10lb at 40wks and came out 8lb13. Made me super emotional 🥹

Mummyme87 · 31/08/2023 14:29

Good news on no GDM yet @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 my 14wk GTT was normal also, next one 20 October 🤞🏻 never had an abnormal GTT but seem to get late onset diabetes. And congratulations on your girl!

buckingmad · 31/08/2023 16:51

Thanks all. Work were really good and sent me home straight away. I’m just in shock tbh, he was in his 20’s. But I’ve felt baby kicking lots and I’ve been having a bit of a lazy day on the sofa with toddler giving her lots of cuddles and feeling very lucky I have her safe and well and another on the way.

And dr has prescribed a cream for my rashy boob, it’s really sharp shooting pains now so pretty sure it’s thrush 🙄

Hummusanddipdip · 31/08/2023 16:56

I'm so sorry @buckingmad that's awful news and to get it at work isn't nice at all. Take care of yourself and if you just need a bit of reassurance the mat unit will understand and see you!

Have an amazing holiday @Bims2019 I'm back to school tomorrow for training day 1, ease us in nicely Friday and Monday then bring the children back!

Excellent news @Mummyme87 8m hopeless with remembering to do my pelvic floor, I saw Dr about the fact I was peeing a little with sneezes and coughs and they directed me to the link our trust uses and said to try to do it 3-5 times a day. Like sure, if I remember 🙈

And congrats to your friend!!

Good news about the gdm @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 hopefully it stays that way 😊

Still not getting regular movements, however think he was stretching earlier while at the park with ds and he got to feel a kick/push just on my lower stomach, he was giggling with excitement, seems to have gotten over the fact his sister is going to be a brother 🤣

sashastuck · 31/08/2023 17:25

Great news @Mummyme87 and @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7!

Gremlin84 · 31/08/2023 22:07

Suffering with a cold - I blame the toddlers I spent the bank holiday with! Struggling to feel better as decongestants are a Bad Thing and so can’t treat as normal. Olbas oils just don’t have the same effectiveness no matter how much I sniff them/have in a steam bath.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 01/09/2023 06:51

@Mummyme87 that's amazing on the scan! You must be relieved. Here's hoping we both don't get GD this time 🤞

Thanks @sashastuck and @Hummusanddipdip and that's so lovely your son got to feel a movement. How old is he?

@Gremlin84hope you feel better soon

FirstT1meMum · 01/09/2023 10:02

Anyone else's movements still not in a routine? I know I've got a couple of weeks to go yet before she should be in a routine but just like to know I'm not alone in going a day or so with nothing obvious?

Off to have hair done ready for back to work Monday and to try and take my mind off it! 💇‍♀️

RG9895 · 01/09/2023 10:13

@FirstT1meMum I'm 21+3 and went and got checked Sunday as I usually felt her everyday then didn't have nothing for 24 hours. If you are worried I'd definitely get checked, they was so lovely and took 10 mins! I am noticing a pattern now and since I've felt her quite regularly each day and tends to have a good wiggle in the mornings and evenings. Although a lot of people have said they had quiet days and party days so it can be very normal especially this early on but don't be worried if you want to go get checked ☺️

Gremlin84 · 01/09/2023 10:13

@FirstT1meMum I still have no idea what are movements and what is just gas/muscle twinges 😂I think it's perfectly normal for there to be no obvious patterns until about 24 weeks, and some don't even feel movement until 23 weeks or so, particularly for first babies or anterior placentas.

PartRadish · 01/09/2023 10:17

@FirstT1meMum No routine here yet (20+3) and if I'm really honest I never felt like my older 3 ever had a routine as such.

I remember really worrying about it with my eldest because I thought I was obviously going to be a totally crap mother if I couldn't even identify their 'routine' but I think in reality none of them had one! I did notice if I hadn't felt movement for a while or if it felt slightly too long between movements so I must've learned roughly how frequently they moved (maybe that's actually what they mean by routine?! 🤷🏼‍♀️) but it was never at set times or anything like that.

FirstT1meMum · 01/09/2023 10:37

@RG9895 @Gremlin84 @PartRadish thank you! I think because I'd got used to feeling her more at night rather than the day then not feeling her last night! Fairly certain I could feel her this morning but was half asleep! I've also got a scan coming up on Monday so could just be starting with the scan anxiety! 🙈

suz2285 · 01/09/2023 11:01

@FirstT1meMum def agree about the scan anxiety, I did the same last week before my scan thought I couldn't feel as many movements! But there is still no 'pattern' for me as such, they don't get you to count the patterns until later on. As there's still so much space for them to hide in there and like people say depends on your placenta etc as well! Good luck for the scan! Not long now 😀

Mummyme87 · 01/09/2023 11:12

@FirstT1meMum some women never find a routine that baby moves, but it can be very erratic until 26/27s. It’s normal to feel them everyday and one day nothing at this stage.

FirstT1meMum · 01/09/2023 11:27

@suz2285 it's so silly because I only had one last week (Monday will be anomaly scan take 2!) But the fear is real 🤣 Definitely think she's either lazy or hiding!

@Mummyme87 thank you! Don't think it helps its my first and have an anterior, need to keep reminding myself of this!

suz2285 · 01/09/2023 11:32

@FirstT1meMum haha i had to go back twice for mine too, it's even more stressful extra waiting time!! these babies making us anxious!

FirstT1meMum · 01/09/2023 11:50

@suz2285 and all I can think is its not going to get any easier when they're here! 🤣

Flossiepot · 01/09/2023 13:20

Yes, with you all on the movements. 21+3 today and some days I think I feel him all the time and others I'm really questioning them 🙈 Driving me crazy!

FirstT1meMum · 01/09/2023 13:39

@Flossiepot it's mental isn't it?! Some days I actually feel like I'm going crazy 🤣

Onedayatatime24 · 01/09/2023 13:47

Same here with movements! Had a good few days where he would move same time every morning after breakfast, then the last couple of days it's just been the odd one here and there! Only 21 weeks on Sunday though so trying not to worry too much at this point. I was told I probably wouldn't feel anything at all until 24 weeks!

lucya66 · 01/09/2023 14:18

Re movements, I think mine is also responsive to what I’m doing. If im walking I can’t feel her as much. Whereas I feel her most when im sitting or lying down. So at night or in the evening. Their routine depends on what you’re up to? Also she stirs after a noise etc so if my stomach growls, or makes a noise, she hears it and moves about.

this is my theory anyway.

Hummusanddipdip · 01/09/2023 14:36

Apart from yesterday's stretch/push I only seem to feel popping Bubb which could be gas, I'm 20+3

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 he's 4, he starts school on Tuesday and I'm starting to panic and worry about him (totally needless as he's ready)
