Good luck to all those with scans tomorrow! I also have mine in the afternoon. Im so excited but also quite nervous!

We also had a bit of a scare yesterday and I didn't feel bubba for almost 24 hours, I called for advice and got asked to go in and they checked everything and heard the heartbeat which was so reassuring. They was lovely and saw me straight away! I just wanted to share if anyones in the same position honestly don't hesitate thats what they're there for and they was so lovely. Thankfully she's been active today ☺️

sashastuck · 28/08/2023 20:30

Enjoy your scans tomorrow everyone and good luck, not that you need it, seeing your babies will be wonderful ❤️

Yeah for mine I went with a half full bladder and I had to empty it half way through anyway.

@RG9895 gosh that is scary, bless you, but it’s reassuring to know you were taken seriously and seen to swiftly. I’ve just had my mum feeling his kicks for the first time 🥺

Hummusanddipdip · 28/08/2023 20:40

I've still not felt any real movement yet, just tumbling occasionally, didn't feel anything at all for 2 days until this morning. Got myself quite anxious something has gone wrong. But then dh reminded me I didn't feel anything with ds until almost 25 weeks, and then it was none stop... hopefully good news all round tomorrow

Mushroo · 28/08/2023 20:47

@Hummusanddipdip im the same really. It still comes and goes (I’m 22 weeks). Friday was really strong, but it’s gone back to fluttering since then. Anterior placenta is not the one.

LittleAlien24 · 28/08/2023 20:47

Thanks @Kalodin

@FirstT1meMum thanks. It's nothing big, just us, our kids and his 2 sisters
@sashastuck thanks.
@Mummyme87 thanks, all good but some why i still have to take the glucose test 😣
@Onedayatatime24 @Sambeaumont @Hummusanddipdip @Flossiepot @RG9895 all the best for tomorrow
@Onedayatatime24 no one told me anything so i went to pee just about an hour before the scan and it was grand

So scan went well. Little guy is really active but i still can't feel it lol he was even poking with his finger 😂 all measurements good, all organs fine but for some reason they still want me to do the glucose test 😕 i will email my own doc tomorrow and ask why.

FirstT1meMum · 28/08/2023 21:06

@Hummusanddipdip I've been like this too, was getting a bit worried this afternoon and said to DH about potentially ringing MAU and he said just give it a bit longer then had about 20 minutes of feeling her move around!

@LittleAlien24 that sounds perfect 👰‍♀🤵 Glad all went well with your scan 🥰

Bims2019 · 28/08/2023 21:10

@Mushroo that's brilliant about the giant penis 😂 my DH calls my pillow "the sausage", I also toss and turn a lot so find it gets in the way. @FirstT1meMum yes it definitely feels like a barrier! Not sure our bed is big enough 🤣

@LozzieLoo I got a nice maternity dress for a family do this weekend from Seraphine, it was in the sale so not too pricey. Maybe have a look there to see if they have any smart casual things that might suit?

@EL27 yes with the acid reflux! I've had it for the last couple of days on and off, will try and get some gaviscon as suggested. Never usually get it so another delightful new symptom.

@LittleAlien24 glad your scan went well 😊

Good luck for everyone else's scans this week!

Hummusanddipdip · 28/08/2023 21:39

Thank you @Mushroo and @FirstT1meMum I'm glad I'm not alone in not feeling anything much. I know at 12 weeks I had anterior placenta, I wonder if it's not moved and that's why. I get more of a slight hardening below my belly button what I imagine is baby rolling?

Can't wait to hear updates for everyone who's being scanned this week :)

Mummyme87 · 28/08/2023 21:58

Super normal to feel baby regularly then nothing for a day at this stage. They are still so little, easy to hide.
I’ve been feeling baby move a lot more the last few days which is nice 🥰

glad scan went well @LittleAlien24 some countries do Glucose tolerance for everyone. In uk indication is maternal age over 35, bmi over 30, prev baby over 4.5kg, prev shoulder dystocia/prev GDM, ethnicity, first degree relative with diabetes, PCOS.. that’s all I can remember off the top of my head.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 29/08/2023 02:53

@LittleAlien24 glad your scan went well! I think the glucose test is worth it (even though it's vile!). It turned out I had GD last pregnancy even though my BMI was below 20. I was really surprised to see that most of the people in my GD clinic were slim (about 70%) and healthy looking and most were very surprised to get the diagnosis as they didn't fit the main risk factors. I have mine tomorrow and I'm dreading it 😩, but apparently 8% of people get GD in the UK so a big enough figure.

Good luck for the upcoming scans everyone

Kalodin · 29/08/2023 08:58

Morning all, how was Bank Holiday for everyone?

BBQ was a success our end!

Me again asking for reassurance please. I do have a scan tomorrow, but I'm stressing so much. Keep getting lightening crotch and I'm only 18 weeks.

Dannic2018 · 29/08/2023 09:17

Morning all
Lovely to hear about scans and good luck to upcoming ones! I’m still in denial we are this far along and it’s September this week! We’ve got to finish renovating 4 rooms before November so slightly scared ha ha.
During the night when I was settling my ds, she was moving so strong if my hubby was awake I know he’d of felt or probably seen it made me smile so much even if it was 3am 🤣

TunnocksTCake · 29/08/2023 11:29

Good luck to all those with scans today, how exciting!
Very jealous some of you didnt have to have a full bladder for the scan, mine says full for both 12 and 20 weeks and I hate it so much, I get so uncomfortable! They did send me to empty halfway through because baby wasnt playing ballthough so that was a relief.
@Kalodin I think thats a good sign of growth and stretching, hope your scan goes well today and comes round quickly.

After all your posts I am now thinking we are going to need a newborn highchair! Was hoping to escape any large purchases this time round but I guess a highchair and sling isnt too bad..! Think I will keep an eye on marketplace for a while longer before I consider new. The Hauk Trip trapp copy looks good & cheaper than the Stokke one.

Ive spent the weekend since my scan going through DD's clothes to see what can be used for a boy and I think we got 1.5 vac pack bags out of 15 that can be reused! All the rest ive been uploading to vinted. Got so emosh looking at how tiny she was and how she / our next one wont wear those clothes again & they were so lovely! 😩

Sambeaumont · 29/08/2023 12:34

All went well with our scan. We r having another boy 💙👶 xx

suz2285 · 29/08/2023 14:15

Congrats @Sambeaumont 💙 great scan pic! Ours were awful there's one good pic out of the lot of them 😂 I know they're not there to get us photos but they could at least try and make them good ones!

I've got got the diabetes test to look forward to as well, due to age and family history of diabetes but I haven't heard when I'm getting it yet?! I've not got the midwife now until 27th sept when I'll be 24 weeks so I dunno if it'll get booked in after that? @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 when did you get your appointment for the test through?

Sambeaumont · 29/08/2023 14:37

I'm having a glucose test end of September. Midwife put me forward for it after my 16 weeks scan. Then received letter in the post xx

Ttcdcno1 · 29/08/2023 15:18

@suz2285 my midwife booked it when I went for my 16 week appt

Mummyme87 · 29/08/2023 15:19

congratulations on your boy @Sambeaumont my second GTT appt came through when I was about 16weeks for mid October, but it will be my second one this pregnancy. It’s usually done between 26-28weeks.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 29/08/2023 15:19

@Kalodin how did your scan go? Lovely that the bbq was a success!

@TunnocksTCake thanks for the Hauck high chair tip - that's much cheaper! I have the Stokke travel one (which is really great as you can pack it up easily) but will probably need a second one with a newborn chair like you mention.

@Sambeaumont congrats on the boy!

@suz2285 last time I had it the standard time I think for the general testing, which was maybe 24-26 weeks. This time (because I've had it before) they wanted it earlier in the second trimester

sashastuck · 29/08/2023 15:55

@Sambeaumont look at his long legs!!💙

Sambeaumont · 29/08/2023 15:57

Thanks everyone ❤️

Mushroo · 29/08/2023 16:14

@Sambeaumont that’s such a good photo! My 20 week one looks like a demon 😂

Huge congratulations!

suz2285 · 29/08/2023 16:52

@Mummyme87 @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 interesting. I had my sugar (HBa1C) done at booking in cos my sister is diabetic but was told I'd be getting the GTT too, but haven't heard anything yet so doesn't seem like I've got an appointment booked, I don't really want to ask cos I'd rather not have the test tbh 😂😂

Matildahoney · 29/08/2023 17:12

@suz2285 my midwife booked mine, but it's not until 29 weeks!

suz2285 · 29/08/2023 17:14

@Matildahoney maybe they'll book mine at my next midwife appointment then! It's in 4 ish weeks
