@Hummusanddipdip I have some on my thighs! Was wondering what they are!

Hummusanddipdip · 24/08/2023 16:33

@sashastuck glad scan went well, I found that at my 12 week, they really pushed down, but baby was tucked as far back and down as could be.

It was my mum that named them, I showed her my stomach and she said they're like varicose veins. She suggested it's because I'm on asprin and older this time round? Like cheers mum 🤣

FirstT1meMum · 24/08/2023 16:38

@sashastuck definitely felt a lot of pushing at my scan, especially on my belly button which was a whole new feeling! However didn't feel it so much the next day as compared to my 12 week scan! Glad your scan went well 🥰

Mummyme87 · 24/08/2023 17:50

Glad scans are all going well. They do sometimes have to push down firmly to get measurements, especially head and Dopplers.

on the pram front, I do often think there’s a difference in quality, and you get what you pay for. My friend had a Joie one a few years ago because it was cheap. It was so plasticky and rickety, so hard to manoeuvre, annd no suspension. Also just be cautious about what car seats they come with, check for car seat safety reviews. I had a bugaboo which was very expensive but it lasted me 2 babies 3yrs each. I briefly used an umbrella stroller but it broke. No where near as good as my pram. I’m planning to get the bugaboo fox 3

LittleAlien24 · 24/08/2023 18:52

Hope everyone keeping well. Im struggling here quite a bit. This heat is killing me. We have 4th heatwave so every day has been between 36 to 39 and can't see the end of it 😩
Good to see scans going well. Have mine on Monday. Can't wait.
On prams. I had the lightweight stroller for my 1st one when she was 1 and i hated it, had 2 different ones. So for my second i bought expensive buggy, with a seat part that will fit even a 3 year old. So no strollers for her. Kept this buggy and will use it now with my 3rd.
On baby movements i still don't feel anything and im 19+5. My OH is really struggling that he's away from us and can't be here for me and can't feel him move, well when he finally decides to let me feel it lol
We have quite a bit of baby stuff bought, hopefully next week will get the cot too.
Only thing we can't seem to find is a name for him 😁

Mummyme87 · 25/08/2023 07:12

Boot have got 15% off quite a lot online using AUGBABY15 code. Even on some reduced stuff. The pram I want is valid for it knocking £100 off!!

MrsJ6921 · 25/08/2023 08:10

We’ve ordered our bedside next to me crib this morning. The first of our big purchases ahead of the pram tomorrow. So exciting!

Lilothblos · 25/08/2023 09:17

@MrsJ6921 which one did you go for? I’m really struggling to choose a crib!

Yeh I’m planning to use this! ‘Big ticket’ items Im getting are the Owlet monitor, a UV steriliser and baby bath.

Then I’ve added loads of stuff to help my post birth vagina, and things like baby wipes, sudocrem etc.

Annoyingly the pram and car seat I want isn’t in the offer. (Nuna Triv and Maxi Cosi 360) but it’s still a good saving.

Mummyme87 · 25/08/2023 09:31

@Lilothblos I got the Tutti bambini crib for DS2, really rate it. It’s a good size so lasted until he was 9months… and was 10lb born so not small!

@Mushroo there will be loads of sales and discounts in the coming months, Black Friday is always good. The London/Manchester baby show always has discounts and offers if you can get there

@Mummyme87 brill thanks. The Manchester one isn’t far so might go and take a look.

MrsJ6921 · 25/08/2023 09:42

@Lilothblos We’ve went for the Tutti Bambini Cozee in the beige colour and also got the fitted sheets too. It’s in the sale for £155 down from £185. I like the travel cot feature of it too as my parents live 4 hours away so will be perfect for when we visit.

Lilothblos · 25/08/2023 09:52

@Mummyme87 @MrsJ6921 thanks both, the tuttibambini looks really nice, I’ll check it out!
I’m considering going to the London baby show too, just waiting to see if they do heavily discounted / free tickets anywhere as I’ve heard they do sometimes!

lucya66 · 25/08/2023 10:09

I got the snuz pod 4, on fb market place. Just need to buy a new mattress for it

Lightningrain · 25/08/2023 10:11

@lucya66 I’m looking to get the Snuzpod too. Mainly because the space at the side of our bed is quite small and it looks the most compact, but I also know someone who has one for her baby and recommends it.

Redpanda21 · 25/08/2023 10:29

I’ll be getting the tutti bambini again as loved it with my last one

Gremlin84 · 25/08/2023 10:44

Today seems to be irrationally upset at everything and overwhelmed day. Current upset is the struggle to find any maternity petite trousers. Not leggings or jeggings or jeans - trousers for work. Can't find any that aren't stupidly expensive and getting in a tizz about it. Never thought I'd be sitting here crying over trousers.

Mushroo · 25/08/2023 11:06

@Gremlin84 completely understand the frustration! I’ve switched to dresses, counting down until tights are back.

Would these work? https://www.amazon.co.uk/EXARUS-Maternity-Stretchy-Straight-Pregnancy/dp/B0BHF2X1LH/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?crid=37D85Z5BD9QQB&keywords=maternity%2Btrousers%2Bpetite&qid=1692957923&sprefix=Maternity%2Btrousers%2Bpe%2Caps%2C96&sr=8-2&th=1&psc=1

Theres a few different ones on Amazon.

Totally understand this, I’ve been the same recently! I cried cos I fell off a kerb when I was walking the dog with DP 🤣.
Im also all about the comfy dresses at the moment for work.

LittleAlien24 · 25/08/2023 11:55

@Gremlin84 hope you feeling better soon and find some pants.
I just started crying on the video chat with my OH and older daughter because im so done with this heat. I can't sleep during the night and can't do anything during the day. Before 12 today it was already 36 degrees and it's meant to go up to 39 again 😢😣

LittleAlien24 · 25/08/2023 11:57

@Gremlin84 would h&m have any? I know i seen here in spain some maternity black trousers

TunnocksTCake · 25/08/2023 16:28

Baby is a boy and all looking healthy at the scan! So happy and relieved 🥰

Hummusanddipdip · 25/08/2023 17:12

Wonderful news @TunnocksTCake

H&M has a pretty good selection on mat clothes @Gremlin84 I got loads of work trousers when I was pregnant with ds and looking in there at start week they're still pretty good.

Is it worth getting a moses basket? We got one for ds and he hated it so I gave it away quite quickly and he slept in the travel cot part of his pram (carried it up stairs when we went to bed and down in the morning) dh doesn't want to spend money on one just on case this one's the same, but part of me feels like it'll be easier to carry baby up and downstairs rather than a whole cot thing. His argument is we carry the dogs bed upstairs every night so how would it be different.

Mummyme87 · 25/08/2023 18:08

@TunnocksTCake good news on the scan!

@Hummusanddipdip I’ve never had a Moses basket and not missed it. They tend to grow out of them by 6weeks. I either had them in the pram or in the sleepyhead when napping downstairs.

Anomaly scan is two weeks today. Will have been a looooong time coming!! 20weeks tomorrow ☺️
