Finally managed to speak with my doctor regarding nausea, he's prescribed me promethazine teoclate. Has anyone taken this for sickness/nausea?

I’m okay, but you know how it is when your so hormonal and really trying not to cry when someone’s being a dick!
Glad you’re okay, ugh yes know exactly what you mean. Good for you for going to hr, hopefully they’ll be all over it as it opens them up to a legal minefield if that behaviour continues!!

I’m 11 weeks tomorrow, last 2 weeks nausea hasn’t been as bad. I thought I’d sussed that as long as I didn’t let myself get too hungry I was okay. Today it’s back with a vengeance.

@xTinkerbell I hope you feel better soon! Mine eased off but has been kicking my butt the last few days too!
How can something so small cause you to feel so crap 😫

Does anyone else feel like they look really pregnant already? I'm 8w4d and i honestly feel I look about 6 months pregnant! It's my second but surely a bump doesn't come this early and it must all be bloat somehow even though it feels hard 🤔

@Silverpixieflorence does yours come and go or is it permanent? I bloat but it comes and goes. In the evening I can look six months pregnant but by the morning it's flat stomach again

@SmartiesParty it's permanent! Unless I'm just bloated all day every day I think it might be here to stay 😅

@Mummapenguin20 yes exactly the same as me! I went into the office yesterday (normally work from home) and I swear people were looking at my stomach 🤦🏼‍♀️

@Kelb79 i deff think the paranoia is real, it’s hard to not feel like you’ll damage something. Ur OH may have just been in his head thinking about it too much🙈 I think it’s gona be a really tricky one over the next few months.

i was with my consultant this morning and have been booked in for surgery to have the cervical stitch Monday morning😰 has anyone else ever had this done? I’ll be put to sleep so I won’t know or feel anything that’s happening but it’s the fear of it all 😞

Good luck with your procedure @DmcinT - I had a lletz on my cervix a few years ago, and meeting with the consultant next week to discuss what (if anything) needs to happen now. I'm worried they won't take it seriously though, but I'd like to be offered cervical length scanning.

Can I ask why they have recommended you for the stitch?

Hi All

Hope you don't mind me joining, I'm due 5/2 with baby number 2. Current 16 weeks pregnant.

Had some news yesterday that I am high risk for downs syndrome at 1 in 2 chance, I'm 32. I had my NIPT done yesterday waiting for the results. This wait is making me really anxious. 😔

Oh how worrying. I have just had mine back and the wait was awful!! I have absolutely everything crossed for you. My advice would be to fill your time with things you enjoy to take your mind off things. Easier said than done I know but it does help. X

@DmcinT Im also meeting my consultant next week to discuss a stitch or continue with progesterone and have biweekly scans due to my daughter being born @ 25 weeks.

I’m feeling rather anxious right now. I’m away on holiday and had 4 missed calls today from my hospital trust.
I feel like 4 is quite a lot of calls, they clearly wanted to get hold of me.
When I called the antenatal team, no one knew who’d called. Then one woman said she would go find out and call me back but never did!
Im trying to be rational and think that if they desperately needed me they’d have left a voicemail with a number to call. But also 4 calls in an afternoon is a lot if it’s not important.
Ive had swabs and blood tests so I’m worrying something bad has come back now.
Am I being paranoid? 😬

@LavenderSweetPea ive had lletz also so have a weakened cervix. My surgeon had said at the time of the surgeries that if I got pregnant in the future I would prob need cervical cerclage so I was half expecting it. I think it’s just the urgency today scared me a bit but I’m sure it’ll be fine. I’ll have to take the first week back to school off (after 3 months off🙈)

@Nemo145 4 calls does seem excessive, maybe the phone wasn't actually ringing so they dialled it 4 times trying to get it to ring?

@Nemo145 I had 6 missed calls and they rang my husbands phone.. we were driving so didn’t see.. anyway turns out the consultant knew I was going on holiday and wanted to let me know I was entitled to the NIPT on the NHs.. so all that worry for nothing.. hoping for the same with you :)

and no to sex for me right now.. firstly I felt to horrible and now I feel really unattractive.. having said that I come off all my meds in the next week so I am hoping that might make me feel better ;) xx

Wishing lots of good luck to those who are having further tests.

I usually suffer from migraines but had a great first trimester (in that respect) with hardly any. That seems to have changed now I'm in the second trimester - I've had three in the last fortnight. I'll ask the midwife about it at my 16-week appointment in September, but was just wondering if anyone else had headaches ramp up in these weeks? Everything seems to say you get more headaches in the first trimester then it dies down, but I've been experiencing the complete opposite.

@MrsW9 I could have written this post! I have had two this week already and a constant headache in the background. I have been taking paracetamol and using forehead but both have been a bit rubbish.
I have absolutely no advice but wanted you to know you are not alone 😊

@Nemo145 ir does seem like a lot but I think if they don’t know who’s called you or why that could be a good sign that it’s not super urgent like it’s not on your notes when they pull up your details on screen? Hopefully they will call you back tomorrow!
@Sunny388 welcome! There’s a few ladies who’ve had NIPT done so lots of people to talk to whilst you wait for results lovely.

im also in the no sex camp right now, no energy, my body is so so sore from expanding so fast with twins and I’m just shattered of a evening! Hopefully I’ll get that second trimester boost of energy back soon!

@MrsW9 yes!!! Since second trimester hit my headaches have been awful. Paracetomol doesn't touch it and even when the worse is over, they linger !

@Nemo145 i would be anxious too but I’d think they would have left a voicemail to call back if it was really important, try again in the morning and just say you’re anxious they tried to call so much hope all is well x
@MrsW9 since I’ve hit the second trimester im getting more headaches too, just trying to drink enough to make sure it’s not dehydration.

@MrsW9 I don't normally (in my non-pregnant journey) have headaches ever, ever. I've started having them since the second trimester almost every other day. A couple of days ago I drank so much water to not blame dehydration, and the headache was the worst!! So, yeah, I'm also with headaches now :/

@undercoverhero74 oh I'm so pleased for you lovely that you got low risk back! I also just heard back and NIPT has also come back low risk for me too 🥳 it was such a long week waiting for results!!

I am so glad I looked at the chat this morning because I've been going out of my mind about headaches! The last time I had a headache like this was when I got pre eclampsia with my DD so I've been taking my blood pressure and generally panicking but now to see this looks normal for this stage is such a relief!!! I seem to be getting them every night at about 10pm which is so strange!

@Silverpixieflorence really happy to hear about your good results also! Must be a huge relief.

My head is good but I just feel so uncomfortable, and achy and heavy in my stomach. Work clothes that fit me last week (stretchy or elasticated at back) I can't get close to doing up now. The nausea has come back also, so that feels rubbish. 16 weeks now.

Still haven't told work but despite careful dressing, I think it might be obvious. Really scared to. Two people I hadn't told have seen me and congratulated me on my pregnancy, so it must look clear enough to others. Anyone else not told work yet?

I've also been having headaches. Should have looked at this thread first because I made DH order a carbon monoxide alarm because I somehow convinced myself there's a problem with the boiler. Not that it's a bad idea to have the alarm but I do feel like a crazy lady!

In more exciting news, I booked NCT classes! I know it's kind of soon, and they dont start until December, but I got all excited (and actually found a local class that fits around both mine and DHs work schedules). Anyone else booked yet or just me?

First time posting but I really need some advice, I'm full to the brim with a head cold and have a really bad cough. Is there any cough medicines we can take when pregnant?
Bronchostop was always my go to before but that's not allowed now. I can't sleep properly cos it's just non stop
