Thank you ladies💕
I’m okay, but you know how it is when your so hormonal and really trying not to cry when someone’s being a dick!
Glad you’re okay, ugh yes know exactly what you mean. Good for you for going to hr, hopefully they’ll be all over it as it opens them up to a legal minefield if that behaviour continues!!

@Shrillwaffle I can only imagine how stressful this is for you. I second what @Un7breakable said, your midwife should make an urgent referral to you to their mental health midwife team who are more specialist in pregnancies following situations like yours.

In addition if you can speak to your GP about getting a referral to therapist services in your area (or getting therapy privately if that's an option financially) there are specialist therapists who deal with infertility, pregnancy, miscarriage and baby loss who will be equipped to give you the support you need. There are online directories you can use to find a qualified therapist in your area with the right specialties if the NHS aren't going to get you help quick enough.

Hang on in there and tbh I know 'stay positive' sounds like great advice in theory but you feel how you feel and pretending just to be positive probably not a long term solution. What your feeling is completely normal and understandable and anyone in your position would feel the same, but with some help you will be able to get through the day to day until baby is here safely. xxx

Shrillwaffle · 20/08/2023 23:00

@Callmemummynotmaaa that does make sense, it’s just as soon as I think that I’m pregnant for today I think we’ll what if I’m not the mind is a terrible thing sometimes. If I could go to sleep and wake up in feb I’d be happier. It’s encouraging for me to hear people go through late losses and still have successful pregnancies, I mean there’s no medical reason why anything should go wrong bloods and screenings have gone fine I think it’s just the wait between scans and appointments which is 🤯🤯

Tilly18101 · 21/08/2023 06:04

@Shrillwaffle oh lovely I can’t imagine how hard this is for you. Pregnancy is such a difficult journey without what happened to your little girl added in. I echo others about referral to MH team within maternity but also through your GP, some taking therapy might really benefit you during this process to talk about how you feel. Maybe some CBT for coping mechanisms too?

It can be so hard to try and put a positive spin on anything when you are feeling like this, talking about it will help. Is there any support with friends and family you can reach out to?

Shrillwaffle · 21/08/2023 11:11

Had an appointment at today heard the heartbeat the relief is overwhelming thankyou for your supportive messages 🙏🏻

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 21/08/2023 11:16

@Shrillwaffle I'm so pleased to hear that!

@Callmemummynotmaaa I honestly don't know how you've done it. Ten pregnancies in a few years and more than one later loss. I'm just so so sorry. You seem so together and wrote lovely advice to Shrillwaffle. In awe of you and hope you're doing okay this pregnancy. Are you getting plenty of extra checks?

novamama · 21/08/2023 11:46

Hi there ladies, I am a bit late looking for a community support (as I held off before the first scan). I was recommended to find other mamas with the same due date on mumsnet, and I think this is it, as our baby is due 12th Feb and date was confirmed by the scan. Hope that it's alright to join.

I was wondering if anyone still feels nauseous by this stage?? I am 15 weeks + 1 day today and I have to still be perpetually snacking :( I hope it won't last much longer.

Anyways, congratulations to everyone here for your coming babas!

vvit · 21/08/2023 13:47

Hi @vvit

I waited 2 weeks and I called. They then sent me the letter electronically. It's almost been 3 weeks since my tests, and I still haven't received the physical letter. I'd advise to call them. They told me they sent the letter 3 days after the appointment so clearly it shouldn't take this long.

Pumpkin1210 · 21/08/2023 14:54

Hello everyone!
Just found this thread and I am due on the 28th of Feb. I am looking for some advice really (TW bleeding).
Around two weeks ago when I was around 10weeks pregnant and I experienced spotting and bleeding for a whole day. I had two scans both baby looked absolutely fine. On the second scan they thought they might have seen a small hemotoma and to possibly expect more bleeding.
I then went for my 12 week scan one week ago and I was measuring behind at 11weeks 1 day so it had to be rebooked for tomorrow. They didn’t check the hematoma (even when I asked, but I think there was a language barrier). However, today I have had some more bleeding and have gone for a scan. Thankfully baby looks all good measuring 12 weeks 5 days( so has had lots of growth or the previous measurement was inaccurate).
As much as I am reassured baby looks okay, they cannot find any reason for the bleeding. Has annoying else experienced anything similar? It’s just so terrifying and I only really feel reassured whilst I am in the ultrasound room. This is my first pregnancy and I am overthinking everything and suffer with health anxiety. I have also been experiencing dizziness and pure exhaustion which I am sure are just regular symptoms but it is all adding to my anxiety. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Scan from today attached :)

February 2024 Babies 👶 (thread 3)
MrsW9 · 21/08/2023 15:07

@Pumpkin1210 I'm also having unexplained bleeding (mostly spotting) so totally sympathise with the anxiety. I'm trying not to be too worried as the EPU don't seem too worried. I think they said at an earlier appointment that it's not unusual for no cause to be found.

Shrillwaffle · 21/08/2023 16:50

@novamama hello welcome 👋🏻 im due 4th February and 16 weeks today I do still get some nausea now especially in the evenings sometimes but it’s not as bad as it was first trimester. It should ease for you soon, I found ginger sweets helpful for sickness
@vvit id chase it up if I were you I think mine came like a week after? Probably just administration error on their end I wouldn’t worry too much x

Mangotango39 · 21/08/2023 22:51

@Pumpkin1210 yes lots of spotting my end. Never found a reason!
I made a new thread about it yesterday and lots of ladies shared their reassuring stories xx

Kelb79 · 22/08/2023 11:26

BIG love to those of you who have dealt with previous late losses ❤️❤️❤️ I have only had 1 loss at 9 weeks and I can honestly say it’s completely changed the experience of pregnancy for me. Those 5 weeks that I knew I was pregnant last time were bliss… ignorant unadulterated bliss! I didn’t imagine for a second that anything could go wrong and I was so totally happy and excited!
this time is constant fear - every cramp and twinge, every wipe after going to the toilet, anything unusual at all makes me panic.
enjoying the pregnancy is pretty much impossible right now thanks to the ongoing 24/7 sickness 🙄 but I can’t relate “being pregnant” to actually ending up with a baby in my arms.
so basically I just wanted to give every single one of you that’s suffered previous loss a massive hug. You’ve gut this girl!! Today you are pregnant (exactly what @Callmemummynotmaaa advocates 👌🏼) tomorrow will bring what it brings and we can’t change that by worrying or not so keep going and stay strong ❤️❤️

PS anyone getting dizziness/fainting?? 🧐

What a lovely message. Yes lots of dizziness especially from around 12 weeks onwards but I am assuming that's from the growth and my scans had a big growth jump very quickly from 11-12 weeks. I also have had blurry vision when I get tired or haven't eaten (perhaps low blood sugar).

Thank you for all that replied regarding the spotting it's really scary. Had my 12 week scan today and everything is looking good which is a relief.

As a side note had anyone had heart palpitations I suffer with them anyway prior to pregnancy , also linked to anxiety having a very fast heart very often. I think I'm totally overthinking and scared it's going to affect my blood pressure as I am really phobic now of having it taken which makes it higher (I sound crazy). The midwife today said it's quite normal and called it 'white coat syndrome'.

DmcinT · 22/08/2023 17:43

@Kelb79 similar to you I’d one previous loss and the joy it robs for this pregnancy is so so sad, I just feel constant fear as u say and can’t really believe that pregnancy will result in a baby in my arms. Days were I’m so so sick I feel so guilty for feeling miserable because I’m those weeks around my loss all I wanted was to be pregnant again. It’s such a wave of emotions. Even now at 15 weeks I haven’t told many ppl as I’m terrified of something going wrong. trying to stay positive but most days failing at that. I’ve a scan tomorrow and find the day or 2 before a scan I’m even more negative and picture the worse case scenarios. Really wise i wasn’t like this and I do hope at some point it’ll feel real enough to allow myself get excited❤️ Sending hugs to all those going through similar x

@Pumpkin1210 lots of little dizzy spells here too, haven’t fainted as of yet but I’m back to work next week after 3 months off so we will see what that’s like 🙈

I’ve a bit of a personal Q: how is everyone managing with dtd? I mostly just feel too sick or tired so can’t face it. I also feel huge which doesn’t help 😬

@DmcinT I didn't feel excited at all for the whole of my last pregnancy following a mmc, right up until I actually had him. It is a bit sad, and I didn't tell people I until it was completely unavoidable and obvious.

This pregnancy I thought I'd be more chilled as I had a successful pregnancy inbetween, but I'm not really. I think it just makes you aware of how much can go wrong. And I only had one, it must be so much harder after more mcs.

Haha sex, what's that? Not having it at all atm, just feel exhausted and yuck and not up for it

DmcinT · 22/08/2023 19:40

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 ah well phew I’m not the only one 😅🙈 good to know that’s prob normal enough in these weeks when sickness is still strong.

absolutely on a MC making u so aware of how quickly things can go wrong. A scan will ease my worries for a few days and then I just think it could have all changed. I think I try to prepare myself for the worst news too so I’m not so upset (as is u can ever prepare urself for that type of news) but positive thoughts for tomorrow and everything crossed 🤞🏽❤️

@Kelb79 i can 💯 relate to this I’ve mentioned previously about my late loss and it’s just all eclipsing really. I’m not finding pregnancy enjoyable at all in fact every day I just feel like I’m depressed anxious and borderline traumatised. Until they’re here I don’t think I’ll feel better I’m just expecting something to go wrong especially the later it gets because I lost at just under 24 weeks and I’m 16. Ever scan or appointment I’m physically shaking and I can’t breathe. You’re not alone at all ❤️

Kelb79 · 22/08/2023 22:54

@DmcinT we’ve both been pretty much avoiding sex! We had sex the night before my MC last time so we’ve both got major paranoia about it!

saying that though…. We tried once a few weeks ago and I think it got so in my OHs head that he couldn’t finish 🫣
I instigated things this morning to try to move past it and it was actually going really well but then we had to stop because OHs bits were on fire 😳😳 he said it was like o had used chilli sauce as a lube 😳😂🤷🏼‍♀️ wtaf??? Anyone ever known that before???

Morning all, feeling a bit confused. I went for an early gender scan yesterday and it took the sonographer a long time (nearly 30 mins) but she eventually told us she was sure baby is a girl. For some reason I really think this is wrong. Nub theory group on FB was a resounding boy but I know nothing is 100% accurate. Should I scan again in a couple of weeks or maybe just wait for my 20 week? Don't want to tell people and it be wrong!

AllAboardTootToot · 23/08/2023 08:47

How many weeks are you @Meeting ? I would be waiting until around 18 weeks for more accurate. My sister went through the same and baby ended up being a boy a couple of weeks later.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to update on my NIPT results after being told I'm high risk for Downs. After a really anxious wait they have come back low risk. I know this doesn't mean 100% there are no issues but it puts us at no higher risk than anyone else. I'm so relieved.
@Silverpixieflorence i hope you get your results through soon too, sending all the positive vibes x

Meeting · 23/08/2023 09:23

@AllAboardTootToot I'm a couple of days off 16 weeks so it was quite early. I might book another when I'm closer to 18 weeks to be sure!

@undercoverhero74 that's fantastic news!

Sunshineclouds11 · 23/08/2023 11:34

Great news @undercoverhero74

I wait deffo wait until over 16 weeks @Meeting I've had friends who have been told prior to 16 and it's been wrong.
