Finally managed to speak with my doctor regarding nausea, he's prescribed me promethazine teoclate. Has anyone taken this for sickness/nausea?

I’m okay, but you know how it is when your so hormonal and really trying not to cry when someone’s being a dick!
Glad you’re okay, ugh yes know exactly what you mean. Good for you for going to hr, hopefully they’ll be all over it as it opens them up to a legal minefield if that behaviour continues!!

I’m 11 weeks tomorrow, last 2 weeks nausea hasn’t been as bad. I thought I’d sussed that as long as I didn’t let myself get too hungry I was okay. Today it’s back with a vengeance.

How can something so small cause you to feel so crap 😫

Does anyone else feel like they look really pregnant already? I'm 8w4d and i honestly feel I look about 6 months pregnant! It's my second but surely a bump doesn't come this early and it must all be bloat somehow even though it feels hard 🤔

@Silverpixieflorence does yours come and go or is it permanent? I bloat but it comes and goes. In the evening I can look six months pregnant but by the morning it's flat stomach again

@SmartiesParty it's permanent! Unless I'm just bloated all day every day I think it might be here to stay 😅

@Mummapenguin20 yes exactly the same as me! I went into the office yesterday (normally work from home) and I swear people were looking at my stomach 🤦🏼‍♀️

I’ve been taking Wild Nutrition tablets but for the first couple of weeks I was taking one tablet a day not the 3 that I was supposed to be taking 🤦‍♀️ just assumed given the size of the tablet it would be one!

@Kelb79 I take pregnacare and haven't had any issues, but I also took the conception tablets for months and months beforehand so maybe my body had a chance to get used to them before all the crazy pregnancy hormones got added to the mix. Tbh we need to keep taking them after the first trimester? They aren't cheap so I wouldn't mind stopping them myself.

@Kelb79 oh my! I take pregnacare and have felt awful for weeks! Even with meds from the doctors. Maybe it is the pregnacare?!
Please could you let me know how you get on with stopping it? I'm tempted to stop mine and see if I feel better 🤔

I was thinking about vitamins now I'm in second trimester. I've been taking Pregnacare max but I reckon we only need vitamin D now? Not sure I want to keep spending the cash on Pregnacare, particularly if they might be contributing to my occasional upset stomach.

@amyg1985 @LavenderSweetPea i asked my midwife about continuing with the vitamins after first tri and she said it’ll do no harm to continue, but also supermarket or Holland and Barratt own vitamins are just as effective, and usually a lot cheaper! I’ve not had any issues with pregnacare, but I’ll be switching to an own brand once my last pack runs out!

Anyone still really sick at 13 weeks??
it’s killing me!! I got prescribed Cyclizine but I can’t take it, it’s making me too drowsy and I own a restaurant which means working evenings and driving home after work, the drive home was impossible!!
so I’ve been trying to battle it out but I’m really struggling to eat and I’m just miserable most of the time 😵‍💫

on a good note my screening results came back super low risk, i hadn’t realised how anxious I was about that until I got them!

Omg @Kelb79 this is 100% me. I’m also 13 weeks and still so so sick, still throwing up everyday. I also got prescribed the same and also couldn’t take it because I can’t cope with the exhaustion- it knocked me right out and even if I took it at bedtime , it meant I couldn’t physically wake/ get up in the morning. 😔 just preying this eases soon as I can’t take much more. Surely at 13 weeks we are near the end of the worst. Congrats on your screening results 😊 xx

Midwife at 12 week scan unprompted said to continue prenatals. I briefly switched to ones without iron in but it didn't help so went back on the pregnacare

I had felt a bit better recently but the nausea returned today briefly.
Is anyone else having a lack of appetite? I know I need to eat but I just don’t feel hungry which isn’t like me at all.

@Nemo145 deff lack of appetite or more so when I try to eat I can only eat tiny amounts, that was the last 2 weeks or so but then today I’d an appetite and actually felt hungry for the first time in 14 weeks 😅

I hate that I’ve no desire or notion for any food too, makes it so hard to decide on what to eat. Lots of friends have said that goes and u start to enjoy food again in 2nd trimester. I honestly can’t wait to enjoy food again 😫

I finally had my scan, it went okay, baby is measuring 13 weeks 5 days so due date moved ahead to the 17th which is exciting. The problem is that the little rascal kept turning it's head and lying on it's side so we were there for 3.5 hours trying to spot the nasal bone. Literally everything else is fine and she thinks she got a glimpse of it, but gif I'm tired. I had to keep walking around and coming back to try see if baby moved. She still put me at low risk for trisomies but I might need to do more tests in the future.

@Nemo145 I tend to feel nauseous in an evening so in the daytime I try and eat then I don’t have a massive appetite though and also drinking it’s hard to drink enough I think I keep getting dehydrated

@undercoverhero74 @Silverpixieflorence hope you both get some more reassurance soon, i don’t know much about Papp A but it definitely seems like that’s the contributor to increasing the numbers and hopefully it’s nothing.

Well I did the nub therapy queens on Facebook and then got the early glimpse results - followed in @MummyTo4BoysXXXX footsteps!

I do take it with a pinch of salt until officially confirmed but they all said girls for the twins on the page and got 98% girls back! So im excited to find out if they are right next week when we have our first official twin scan!

has anyone had it before and it was right?

lord help my husband with 3 girls so close together in age if they are right, I’ll have to get him a big cat to even the numbers for him!

Has anyone started buying things? It's like after my last scan I have gone abit mad. Feel abit guilty as only 14 weeks but I can't help it.

No large items mainly clothes in sales BUT we have a ridiculously busy November - January so I have the most time on my hands now!

I'm so sorry to those still sick @Golaz and @Kelb79. Not feeling great over here but not throwing up and able to eat (albeit plain carbs stuff) so I'm grateful.

@Mangotango39 I haven't bought anything yet. But I would definitely recommend not buying too much! It was unbelievable how many gifts we got of baby clothes, and how many bags of clothes (many still with tags on) that friends hadn't managed to use for their babies. Also got a lot of equipment offered by people also.

Also, all the cute newborn clothes lasted literally for about three weeks! So I have plenty spare for this baby - to donate to others too 🙈

@Mangotango39 I haven't bought anything yet, but I have started thinking about nursery ideas, and what we might need for a pram and carseat. The idea of actually buying anything though kind of makes me nervous. I have however been deflecting by buying clothes and presents for my friends babies, and my neice and nephew so I probably should stop doing that!

Got my screening back, I'm 38 and got 1 in 1400 for downs and 1 in 5000 for Edward's and Patau.

Breakdown - nuchal 1.4 mm
- hcg 1.1
- Papp A 0.88

I'm pretty happy with that. Not sure if it's the right decision but we opted not to private nipt this time on the back of these results. Doing house renovations atm, and costs are spiralling. Do think I'll do a £60 gender scan instead in a week
