Thank you ladies💕
I’m okay, but you know how it is when your so hormonal and really trying not to cry when someone’s being a dick!
Glad you’re okay, ugh yes know exactly what you mean. Good for you for going to hr, hopefully they’ll be all over it as it opens them up to a legal minefield if that behaviour continues!!

Where are you ladies from? I see a lot of talk about 16 week scans is this in another country not the uk and nhs? Or are you talking about private scans, all this talk of gender and nub theory is making me want to book a private scan to find out before 20 weeks 😬😬 lovely looking through all your chats congrats to you all 🥰

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 14/08/2023 21:42

@DmcinT obviously if it was a girl it would be like an extra bonus to have a girl after 4 boys 🤣 think I'd be massively shocked too and then think well will I know what I'm doing with a girl? I don't know how I'd feel about it tbh as I'm just use to been a boy mum 🤣 and just read your message to hankthehorn - have you got 8 sons then & only 1 daughter? x
@anony1111 would love to have an early gender scan but where I've looked to book one is full booked around the time I can have one(15 weeks) plus I'm going away Saturday for 2 weeks to Cornwall on holiday, my 20 week scan is the 20th September so part of me thinks just to wait until then? & plus it's free 🤣 x

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 14/08/2023 21:44

@Shrillwaffle I'm from England, actually from a town called York to be precise 😁

OP posts:
DmcinT · 14/08/2023 21:49

@MummyTo4BoysXXXX sorry I didn’t explain that well 😂 no this is our first but I’ve 1 nieces and 8 nephews so just kinda thought I’d be having a boy

@Shrillwaffle im in Ireland, I’ve had 8, 9, 10, 12 and 14 week scans but mostly it’s to do with having a triplets pregnancy before this that ended in miscarriage at 11 weeks so they’ve kept a very close eye on me. Not that it’s made me any less anxious 🙈 so 16 weeks is my next one and it’s called a gender scan then I’ll be 20 I think unless they change it or add in extras 🤷🏼‍♀️

OurRainbow24 · 14/08/2023 21:50

@Golaz thank you for the Info looks like I best book my gender scan then I suppose was holding off just in case it would possibly involve one and try get a cheeky peak at gender x

Shrillwaffle · 14/08/2023 21:59

@MummyTo4BoysXXXX aha I see I’m also from England Warwickshire I wasn’t sure if you guys were somewhere they scan more or something 😅 glad to
see you guys are as impatient as me and @DmcinT i hope all goes well for you x

Golaz · 14/08/2023 22:06

OurRainbow24 · 14/08/2023 21:50

@Golaz thank you for the Info looks like I best book my gender scan then I suppose was holding off just in case it would possibly involve one and try get a cheeky peak at gender x

It could of course be diff in your area, but where I am (London hospital) scan appointments were always separate to obstetric and they never scanned me in an OB appointment. They did sometimes book one after the other so I could have a scan first , then have the results reviewed by the OB the same day or soon after, but my scan appts were always clearly marked as separate scan appointments iyswim xx

Tilly18101 · 14/08/2023 22:24

@FTMCHD ahh yes maybe, I’ve got 16 weeks and 20 weeks booked in and then in every 2 weeks after that until delivery with them being identical. I keep being told to get very used to the hospital - sure work will be thrilled! I think they are boys, gut feeling and lots of other people have said boys when I’ve sent them my scan photo!

@Shrillwaffle I’m in the north of England but have to have a NHS 16 week scan as I have identical twins on the way. I know lots of ladies have booked a private 16 week gender scan as I think that’s the earliest they recommend to get a good result/visibility!

@MummyTo4BoysXXXX oh it must be a girl - that seems very confident all round! I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed for you!

anony1111 · 14/08/2023 22:46

@MummyTo4BoysXXXX oh you may as well wait then, not long after your holiday until you find out for certain!

Goblet93 · 15/08/2023 08:22

Golaz · 14/08/2023 20:48

Hi Gobblet, ahh so sorry you’ve had a stressful time. as you say your results are still really low risk. Sounds like it will be because of your low Papp-a which can be associated with a genetic abnormality , but usually isn’t, and is just one of those things. This is the thing that I find problematic about the nhs screening is they don’t actually test for whether the baby has a genetic abnormality , they just look for stuff that might make you higher risk (like being an older mum or your hormone levels), which doesnt really mean anything at all at the end of the day. The only marker they include that actually has to do with baby is the NT , so it’s a very good sign yours is normal.
With the private NIPT they actually look at the fetal DNA so although they still can’t be 100% sure, it is much much much more accurate test/ estimate and they should be able to give you a result like less than 1/10,000 chance. So you could consider that if you want to fully put your mind to rest. Doesn’t sound like you need to though as you are already v low risk 😊 xxx

thank you, it has taken some time to rationalise it! That’s exactly what I think, it’s just been skewed and I have no more chance than anybody else. I know I think that’s what I’ve struggled with is that it doesn’t actually tell you, part of me wishes that I hadn’t gone for the screening at all now.
I did consider that, my mum even transferred me the money bless her, but it’s also made me and my partner have a think about what we would actually do with that information and the answer is nothing. So I’m trying to put it to the back of my mind in terms of worrying about it and what will be will be. Thank you so much for your reassurance xxx

Goblet93 · 15/08/2023 08:26

Tilly18101 · 14/08/2023 20:57

@Goblet93 im so sorry you’ve not had the results you were expecting, and how stressful it must feel.

I don’t have any info I’m afraid as I only know that 1:150 and under they’ll test further but could you give your hospital a call and ask them to explain the results to you? I think someone else said it could be skewed because of your low Papp A? Whcih won’t help but at least if your hospital can talk you through it, might help with understanding the result and how you feel and any next steps x

Thank you for your message. I got a letter through a week after my results explaining my adjusted risk which was to do with my Papp-a marker in my blood results being very low. I didn’t really like that it was a week of worrying before I knew what it was all about, I found the letters quite badly timed in between tbh. I will definitely speak to my midwife and now I’m under a consultant because of my Papp-a so the care has all been planned, I will ask for more info definitely x

sludgefactory · 15/08/2023 09:16

My 12-week scan didn't go as planned, sadly. There's a lot of fluid around the baby which is indicative of something called hydrops fetalis, so things aren't looking good. I have an appointment with a consultant in Fetal Medicine but I think I'm going to step away from this group for now to try and deal with this and what it might mean.
Congrats to all that have had successful 12-week scans, I hope you all go on to have lovely healthy babies.

AmyA64 · 15/08/2023 12:05

Hi all, for those in the UK/NHS, did you get the results of your NT test on Badger Notes? Mine has been updated a week after my NT test but it just says ‘ Chance: Low’ and ‘1 in (not recorded)’ for both the T18 & T31 and the T21. It sounds like others have maybe been given the odds, wasn’t sure if it differed by hospital trust. I like to have all of the information so am going to call the midwife, just wondered if anyone else had had that?

MeganBistram · 15/08/2023 12:06

so sorry sludge, this is my longest pregnancy since my son in 2019 and I know how horrific this whole process can be. Sending my love for your appointment with fetal medicine xx

Quick question, Yesterday I had my private scan with my recurrent loss clinic and they do the same tests as the NHS for the risks for Tri 18,21 and 13. The only differance is they take bloods before and do it on the day. So all looked great with baby except the HR is still at 176 and I am 13 weeks +2 which is high.

This meant the risk for 13 went from 1 in 8000 to 1 in 100, the doc is sure its nothing and no signs are showing a risk, I got the NHS back and all three were less than a 1 in 5000 risk.. however they don't see how fast the HR is just that there is one.

Has anyone had this? I am more worried about babies HR than so much the Tri 13 risk... but I am already very Anxious due to previous losses. I have had the harmony so that hopefully will rule out the T13 risk, However I read high HR could be thyroid related? No- one seemed that concerned but I am..

thanks in advance xx

Hi all, for those in the UK/NHS, did you get the results of your NT test on Badger Notes? Mine has been updated a week after my NT test but it just says ‘ Chance: Low’ and ‘1 in (not recorded)’ for both the T18 & T31 and the T21. It sounds like others have maybe been given the odds, wasn’t sure if it differed by hospital trust. I like to have all of the information so am going to call the midwife, just wondered if anyone else had had that?

Yeah I got the numbers, would assume everyone would.
Would deffo chase up.

Has anyone else had issues with work trying to deny paid time off for antenatal appointments? I know I’m entitled but they’re trying to tell me o need to accumulate the hours 🙄
