Thank you ladies💕
I’m okay, but you know how it is when your so hormonal and really trying not to cry when someone’s being a dick!
Glad you’re okay, ugh yes know exactly what you mean. Good for you for going to hr, hopefully they’ll be all over it as it opens them up to a legal minefield if that behaviour continues!!

I’m 11 weeks tomorrow, last 2 weeks nausea hasn’t been as bad. I thought I’d sussed that as long as I didn’t let myself get too hungry I was okay. Today it’s back with a vengeance.

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 No she didn’t specify just said it was my bowel. To be fair it’s not happened the last couple of days so I’m sure she was right.
@Shrillwaffle Im so sorry for your loss. I can sympathise with the repetitive questions. Our situations are very different in that my little girl was born @ 25+2 but if I have to tell another midwife or Dr the events surrounding her birth etc I may scream! As you say, surely it’s all in our notes. It’s awful keep having to relive a traumatic situation when you’re trying to be positive about the current pregnancy.
Im sure they’ll keep a really close eye on you. I’ve been calling my booking dept weekly if nothing has come up on badger notes. I’d rather be a pain in the bum to a secretary rather than risk something being missed. Last time I called re an apt I was expecting she said “oh yes, it’s there, it’s just not been allocated yet!” So I waited on the phone while it was booked for my peace of mind.

I’m sorry to hear you’ve gone through it too it’s literally the worst thing I’ll ever experience like anything else that’s happened/happening in my life fails in comparison, we deserve some good karma ♥️ When are you due? I wish you all the best I really do xx

OurRainbow24 · 14/08/2023 18:47

Hi ladies I don’t no if anyone is familiar with having an obstetric appointment iv got one Thursday when I will be 15+3 but have no idea what to expect or what it is for I have had 2 mmc before this pregnancy one being at 16 weeks could this be the reason for the appointment? also I’m curious to no if it will involve a scan? Iv had 3 previous children and not had this appointment before I know a lot had changed tho since my last as he is 8 now xx

ladies couldn't resist I have ordered 1 hour emailed results from the nubtechs just to see if I get any different from early glimpse as their is alot of us supposedly having girls! 🤣 and for me find it hard to believe after 4 boys 🤣 cost £19.99 though!! but theirs different packages to choose from anyway just impatient 😁🤣

Have they come back yet?!

Sunshineclouds11 · 14/08/2023 19:31

I did with my first but that was due to being IVF.
Have you have previous sections?

OurRainbow24 · 14/08/2023 19:46

@Sunshineclouds11 thanks for the reply I did have an emergency section with my first but in my two pregnancy’s after that I saw a consultant at 28 and 37 weeks x

Hi @OurRainbow24 , I had obstetric appointments in my last preg and will be having them in this one too. It will be because you have been identified as higher risk than average, probably because of the second trimester miscarriage .
Tbh I found my obstetric appointments very uneventful/ uninspiring. They didn’t really do much. I think it’s just to make sure you have a doctor reviewing your case in the event you need special provisions in place (eg extra scans, medications, a special birth plan etc.).

An appointment with an obstetrician doesn’t mean a scan, but they may schedule extra scans for you alongside future obstetric appointments, especially in the third trimester, depending on your risk profile.
Hope that gives you some basic info and so sorry to hear about your previous losses xx

Goblet93 · 14/08/2023 19:51

evening guys, congrats on your scans!! ☺️

I’ve been a bit quiet as my screening results came back and they are not as I expected so it floored me a bit, 1 in 263 for T21 and 1 in 2110 for T18/13 which is low risk but higher than my age risk and completely different to my first which was in the thousands.

My NT was fine but I have low papp-a (0.24) which I think had skewed it (hcg fine too). Anyone else has results like this?? I saw it mentioned a few pages back when I was catching up today. I’m feeling much better now but I did spiral for a week or so.

In other, more positive news, I am also having an early gender scan!! I’ll be 17+1 as that’s the earliest we could do it. Very excited! I’m also tempted by the nub but I also think girl for mine but surely we can’t all be having girls??? 😂

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. I’m really routing for that baby girl for you!
I’m so tempted to send mine off since I’ve had the NIPT and know the sex, just to test how accurate they are 🤣, but them also don’t want to pay just for that lol.
Let us know what the next one says!!!

Hankthehonk · 14/08/2023 20:02

@Goblet93 What happens next with your screening results? Are you being offered more tests?
Sorry I don't have experience with this just sending sympathy and good wishes.

I think I'm the only one in the thread who got boy from a nub theory test?! Sorry if there are others and I've missed them. Here's my boy result (which I still feel somewhat silly for doing)

February 2024 Babies 👶 (thread 3)
DmcinT · 14/08/2023 20:35

@Hankthehonk ooh so both early glimpse and nub tech gave you the same prediction😍 that’s pretty convincing isn’t it. How long did it take nub tech to come back to you? I just looked there but it said 24 hrs for result

I feel so sick this evening and I really thought I was over the worst of the sickness the last 2/3 weeks 😫 feel like just going to bed so I don’t feel like this

Goblet93 · 14/08/2023 20:36

@Hankthehonk thank you for your lovely message. No further testing as I’m above the nhs threshold of 1:150. Initially the number really shocked me but it’s still a 99.6% no abnormality risk which sounds much better but compared to others in the thousands it’s a very scary number to look at!

I can pay for a private NIPT test but they’re £400 and still only a screening tool although quite accurate, it still only gives you a chance risk as opposed to a yes/no.

Oooh a boy result! I haven’t seen any others I don’t think, that’s so exciting. Do you think it’s boy? No don’t feel silly I’m considering doing the same haha!

mumtotwox · 14/08/2023 20:38

That's Early Glimpse and The Nub Techs come back with a girl for me 💓 Trying not to hold onto it too much but after two boys it would be very special. We've booked our private scan for the 4th of September 🎉

Hi Gobblet, ahh so sorry you’ve had a stressful time. as you say your results are still really low risk. Sounds like it will be because of your low Papp-a which can be associated with a genetic abnormality , but usually isn’t, and is just one of those things. This is the thing that I find problematic about the nhs screening is they don’t actually test for whether the baby has a genetic abnormality , they just look for stuff that might make you higher risk (like being an older mum or your hormone levels), which doesnt really mean anything at all at the end of the day. The only marker they include that actually has to do with baby is the NT , so it’s a very good sign yours is normal.
With the private NIPT they actually look at the fetal DNA so although they still can’t be 100% sure, it is much much much more accurate test/ estimate and they should be able to give you a result like less than 1/10,000 chance. So you could consider that if you want to fully put your mind to rest. Doesn’t sound like you need to though as you are already v low risk 😊 xxx

@DmcinT I didn't pay for early glimpse but also had a resounding "boy" from the nub Queens Facebook group! Nub techs I got the 24 hour one but got it back after about 12 hours.

@Golaz I guess that's reassuring, if nhs aren't too worried hopefully that's a good sign. 99.6% is a way more reassuring number I hope you can focus on that! But I'm sure all of us here would have a fright seeing anything unexpected from screening.

I must admit I've now started to think of it as a boy, before the nub results I was definitely picturing a girl but that's just because we already have a daughter. I think I was really just picturing her babyhood again. So it's helpful as a thought exercise for me to assume it's a boy, we're genuinely super happy with either. I admit I'd always hoped for a daughter but already have her- a boy would be a bit of a new adventure, and we wouldn't be able to reuse as many clothes, but I'll be excited if it is.

@Goblet93 im so sorry you’ve not had the results you were expecting, and how stressful it must feel.

I don’t have any info I’m afraid as I only know that 1:150 and under they’ll test further but could you give your hospital a call and ask them to explain the results to you? I think someone else said it could be skewed because of your low Papp A? Whcih won’t help but at least if your hospital can talk you through it, might help with understanding the result and how you feel and any next steps x

Hi everyone, I’m wanting to join in the nub chat as I find it so interesting. The nub techs predicted boy for twin 1 and girl for twin 2! This has been my gut feeling since we found out about the twins so fingers crossed!!

@FTMCHD oh how exciting! Have you got your 16 week scan booked with your twin consultant to hopefully confirm?

I have mine next week for my twins, although mine will be either both boys or both girls but hoping to find out at the consultant scan! X

mumtotwox · 14/08/2023 21:12

@MummyTo4BoysXXXX It's got to be 💕

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 14/08/2023 21:15

@mumtotwox maybe 🤣 funniest thing is though cannot see my babys bladder at all 🤣 and if it's a girl apparently it's nearer to the nubs? Here's the original photo if you want to help 🤣 I've noticed nubtechs have changed the angel of the photo if you know what I mean x

@Tilly18101 My 4 weekly scans aren’t starting until 20 weeks. I’m thinking that because they’re DCDA and less risk there’s not as much intervention? We have a private scan booked for the 3rd September so hopefully we will find out then. I bet you’re excited to find out next week, do you have a feeling?

DmcinT · 14/08/2023 21:33

@MummyTo4BoysXXXX that’s so cool, how do u feel about a little girl after all the boys, such a different experience 🥰 and @mumtotwox ur in a similar boat😍 I think I’ll craic now and get the tech one done too. I’m in in 2 weeks for the gender scan so I can’t wait to see if they are right. Will u both find out at a separate scan?

@FTMCHD one of each, how amazing is that😍 had u don’t early glimpse as well?

@Hankthehonk I was the same, so sure it was a boy, for no other reason than we’ve 9 kids in the family and only 1 is a girl so I think we’re just more likely to have boys. I’m starting to picture a girl now though 😅 I’ve put my pics into the Facebook group too so hoping they come back tomorr 🤞🏽😅 I’m so impatient lol

anony1111 · 14/08/2023 21:36

@MummyTo4BoysXXXX surely it's got to be after both saying girl! They are high confidence percentages too! Will you be having an early gender scan or waiting until your 20week scan to find out?

Ihatewinding · 14/08/2023 21:41

So many girls! We know for sure that we are having a boy as paid extra as part of NIPT, tempted to try upload my 12 week scan to see what you all think haha.

I have found myself more queasy in last few days and worsening heartburn, might need to double up my omeprazole for a few days. I remember reading on one of the hyperemesis support threads that you can get a recurrence around 15 weeks and then should improve again, I'm 14+5 so presume that's what this.
For those struggling maybe give gaviscon a go? I slept with a bottle by the bed in my last pregnancy!

Lots of gender scans, am tempted to book another private scan to just break up the wait for 20 week scan. Also told so many people now, even my little girl's nursery as apparently it's now really oversubscribed and we needed to put in an application pre 20 weeks gestation for this one to start in January 2025 :O
