Thank you ladies💕
I’m okay, but you know how it is when your so hormonal and really trying not to cry when someone’s being a dick!
Glad you’re okay, ugh yes know exactly what you mean. Good for you for going to hr, hopefully they’ll be all over it as it opens them up to a legal minefield if that behaviour continues!!

I’m 11 weeks tomorrow, last 2 weeks nausea hasn’t been as bad. I thought I’d sussed that as long as I didn’t let myself get too hungry I was okay. Today it’s back with a vengeance.

@Sunshineclouds11 I got 1 in 5000 for both and was wondering the same. I thought it was fine until someone posted that theirs came back as something like 1 in 20,000!! I'm sure we will both be fine and love our babies no matter what x

Sunshineclouds11 · 13/08/2023 08:01

@Un7breakable @Meeting thank you both!
Yeah that's what got me seeing the 10,000's.
Age might have something to do with it, what will be will be just sent me into a slight panic 😅

Tilly18101 · 13/08/2023 08:19

@Sunshineclouds11 Yours are really similar to mine, 1 in 5000 and 1 in 3000 for downs for me. I was happy with those results as read anything above 1 in 151 is low risk. hope that makes you feel better xxxx

Golaz · 13/08/2023 09:12

@Sunshineclouds11 yrs that is very low risk. Anything below 1 in 150 is considered low risk.
The baseline risk for a woman aged 35 is 1 in 350 and by 40 it is 1 in 100.

(The NHS screening process drives me nuts. I think it causes so much unnecessary worry, but I won’t rant about that now 😆😆.)

Sunshineclouds11 · 13/08/2023 09:22

@Tilly18101 @Golaz
Thank you!
I didn't feel like this with my first (can't remember the numbers) so not sure why I was panicking this time.
I'd rather be told your low risk than be given numbers 😅

100% agree , especially because the screening is verrry approximate, and most of the numbers are meaningless. The process can be useful when you come out as 1 in 5 or something, as then you might want further testing. But if you are low risk reallt no reason to say whether it’s 1 in 500 or 1 in 5000 or 1 in 50000 as all so meaningless 🤦🏼‍♀️. Just makes people worry.

Welcome Shrill I’m so, so sorry to hear about your previous loss.
Huge congratulations on your rainbow baby 🌈 ❤️. From what I can see that’s looking like a very girly nub to me 😍 (disclaimer, that this is a total lay man’s opinion with zero expertise 😆).
Will you be getting a gender scan at 16 weeks?
xxxx

Shrillwaffle · 13/08/2023 10:37

Thankyou :) I’m thinking of booking a private scan as my next nhs scan is 20 weeks but I’m too impatient. I had a girl last year, Mila, I would absolutely love another girl, but I’m just desperate to know so I can really start forming a closer connection with them. Obviously I’m not fussed either way as long as they arrive here safely. If I could go to sleep and wake up at 9 months I’d be very happy

Mila is such a beautiful name 💕💕.
I would 100% say book that private scan ☺️☺️. I think they are pretty accurate by 16 weeks?
I had an NIPT done privately so already know the sex of my bub for sure, but I’m not sure if you can get one now at 15 weeks?

I can only imagine the level of anxiety you must feel 🥺, I was like that in my first pregnancy as I previously had a missed miscarriage at 12 weeks (obviously that can’t compare to your loss at 24 weeks, but it still floored me with grief). I don’t really have any advice for how to get through the anxiety (and I’m not sure if you are looking for any!) But in case it helps, I suppose the two things that helped me the most were listening to hypnobirthing videos, and just trying to picture/ imagine a future moment where I met my baby and all was well, and how that would feel in that moment. Just remember that although you can’t just sleep and wake up at 9 months, you will get there, and this will pass xxx 💕

Shrillwaffle · 13/08/2023 12:15

Well I was having difficulty finding out about more appointments but I managed to call round and find out because I was promised a lot more support and I have a psychology appointment next week because I think I have ptsd from the whole experience :/ worst part of it all was I had to give birth on the labour ward constantly surrounded by babies :( when are you due? Mila will forever be in my thoughts and in my ❤️

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 13/08/2023 12:59

@Shrillwaffle so sorry to hear about your loss of Mila. No wonder you're feeling so anxious and stressed this time around. I think honestly do what you need to do with the private scans- as many as you want and can afford. Between now and 20 weeks feels like forever and a scan should break it up.

Hopefully they will give you more scans after the 20 weeks one as reassurance ones

Mummapenguin20 · 13/08/2023 14:01

@DmcinT they say it’s to early and baby is so small. I had a scan last Monday (10,5) I told the sonographer where my baby was because I felt flutters low and behold I was right x

MeganBistram · 13/08/2023 15:40

@DmcinT i have started having flutters this week and only 13 weeks, with my son I had them early at 16 weeks but I am sure it’s flutters and normally after some orange juice :) xx

Sunshineclouds11 · 13/08/2023 16:08

@Shrillwaffle Welcome! I'm so sorry for your loss of Mila💗

@Golaz Are you having a boy or a girl?!

I’m so sorry. It’s so awful there isn’t better provision for women who go through this- it’s so cruel to that you had to go through that in that environment surrounded by babies 💔 😢.
I completely understand what you mean about appointment anxiety- you can only manage what you can manage.
Not long to find out the sex of your rainbow either way ❤️❤️🌈🌈.

Im due on the 19th February, so 13 weeks tomorrow.

@Shrillwaffle Welcome! I'm so sorry for your loss of Mila💗

@Golaz Are you having a boy or a girl?!

A girl!! I was so convinced it was a boy, and at an early scan the sonographer said she thought it was a boy nub, so I was a bit shocked tbh 🥴. This will be DD3 for me..

DmcinT · 13/08/2023 16:52

@Shrillwaffle so sorry to hear about ur loss at 24 weeks, such a tough thing to have to go through, sending so much love❤️ Scan anxiety is such a hard thing after a loss, I get very vivid dreams of getting that devastating news each night before I have a scan, it’s terrifying 😔

@MeganBistram @Mummapenguin20 I’m glad I’m not going mad 😅 I deff feel flutters but then convince myself it’s something else &that it’s too early so it’s nice to know others are having them at this stage too🥰

I’ve a scan in the morning so of course the anxiety has started. I went for a sea swim this morning to distract myself but now I’m home it’s all I can think about.

It’s just the worst and it’s annoying that they go ‘oh is this your first scan’ or ‘why are you so nervous‘ im like you should know!! But the relief is such a positive overwhelming feeling all I keep thinking is it’s worth all this mental pain if I get my baby in the end

Im due on the 19th February, so 13 weeks tomorrow.
xx

Thank you for your support and kind words I’m wishing you all the best ♥️

Welcome @Shrillwaffle so sorry for your loss of Mila 💕

@DmcinT not going mad at all, I can defo feel flutters and I’ll be 15 weeks on Tuesday. I thought it might be cos I have twins in there but a friend of mine can defo feel flutters with her singleton at 15-16 weeks this time too. I didn’t feel anything with my first until 19 weeks but I think it’s because I didn’t know what to feel/expect!

I feel like I can feel flutters but figured I must be imagining it! I’m only 11 weeks. Last time I didn’t feel anything till 19!
