Finally managed to speak with my doctor regarding nausea, he's prescribed me promethazine teoclate. Has anyone taken this for sickness/nausea?

Glad you’re okay, ugh yes know exactly what you mean. Good for you for going to hr, hopefully they’ll be all over it as it opens them up to a legal minefield if that behaviour continues!!

I’m 11 weeks tomorrow, last 2 weeks nausea hasn’t been as bad. I thought I’d sussed that as long as I didn’t let myself get too hungry I was okay. Today it’s back with a vengeance.

@xTinkerbell I hope you feel better soon! Mine eased off but has been kicking my butt the last few days too!
How can something so small cause you to feel so crap 😫

Does anyone else feel like they look really pregnant already? I'm 8w4d and i honestly feel I look about 6 months pregnant! It's my second but surely a bump doesn't come this early and it must all be bloat somehow even though it feels hard 🤔

@Silverpixieflorence does yours come and go or is it permanent? I bloat but it comes and goes. In the evening I can look six months pregnant but by the morning it's flat stomach again

@SmartiesParty it's permanent! Unless I'm just bloated all day every day I think it might be here to stay 😅

@Mummapenguin20 yes exactly the same as me! I went into the office yesterday (normally work from home) and I swear people were looking at my stomach 🤦🏼‍♀️

@Aries89 i so so sorry about your scan cancellation! That’s so utterly rubbish and unfair on you.
As a pp mentioned if they can’t do the screening they should offer you an NIPT instead which is soooo much more accurate Than the usual approach (more expensive which is why they don’t offer to everyone) , so perhaps you can keep that in mind as some reassurance. It’s still rubbish though, when you’ve been waiting for that appointment to have it pushed back 😢😢. Hugs

Is anyone else feeling really light headed throughout the day and struggling to sleep? I thought I’d get some relief from less nausea but it’s just changed to constant headaches and insomnia. I know I’m probably not drinking e enough water because weirdly water leaves a metal taste in my mouth so I’ve been having sips throughout the day of flavoured water which helps a little.

I had a blood test just a week ago and my vitamin levels are all ok so I’m not sure what’s wrong.

Any tips/advice?

Congratulations on the scans! More good news, that's fab.

@Aries89 I had to pay for a private nipt when my scan was 13+6. It might be worth phoning your midwife and asking what the process is in your trust. Offered a less accurate quad screening, a few weeks later on. It might be worth paying for a private scan and measure of nuchal fold instead depending on what your midwives say. About £60 instead of the £450 I had to pay

@anony1111 ohh well thats interesting as obviously I'm sure by my username your well aware I have 4 boys already & never suffered with constipation with them so will be interesting when I go for my 20 week scan on 20th September to find out what this baby is going to be.. I'm pretty sure I'm going to be told its a boy again! 🤣 don't exactly have a feeling but we will just have to wait and see 😊 what makes you feel like your having another boy? And thanks! Will be heading to tesco for some prune juice ASAP! Haha x

@Ebonythoughts I've also been feeling lightheaded at the slightest bit of exertion (like walking the dog slowly for 30 mins) and have recently been having headaches as well. It's possible your iron levels are low, if you haven't had bloods recently it could be worth making an appointment to get this checked. I was anaemic in my first pregnancy and had these symptoms - I'm booked in for bloods tomorrow so will soon find out if that's the cause.

I've been drinking plenty of water but also popping a bit of diluting juice in it most of the time (I'm Scottish, and I think this might be a scottish name for it, maybe you call it squash? I'm genuinely not sure. Robinsons!)

Thank you all for your supportive messages! i did speak to the midwife and she’s said anything over 14weeks 1 day they will only offer blood test to only test for Down’s syndrome and this would be less accurate. I think I’m going to try find somewhere local - they are so expensive!!

@Aries89 I’m so sorry about ur rescheduled scan, it really sucks and you have every right to be annoyed. We wait so long to get to 12 weeks, it feels like an eternity to then have it pushed out a week or 2 is cruel.

@mumtotwox great to see the scan pics, any guesses on boy/girl from the pics? I don’t have a clue how ppl tell from nub theory or others but loads seem to be able to tell.

@Ebonythoughts i get the light headedness a bit but I’m fighting off some type of flu/virus at the min so I think it’s maybe related. I’ve had really bad headaches the last 2 weeks aswel but again I think it’s whatever I’ve picked up🙈 and I’m on steroids too so I can’t really tell what’s causing what 😅🙈 can’t wait to feel normal again soon 🤞🏽🤞🏽

@Ebonythoughts I feel like I remember you struggling with sickness, did you ever end up on any meds? I've finally come off the cyclizine and promethazine, which were really sedating initially then kinda got used to then came off them gradually from 12 weeks onward and feel like might have got reliant on them as now struggling with insomnia 😴and when I'm tired it does make me feel more lightheaded and also nauseous. I have a test for gestational diabetes in couple of weeks and slightly apprehensive as whether that may turn out to be positive, I tried eating my way through the sickness also with sugary or cheesy carbs and piled weight on!

@MummyTo4BoysXXXX maybe that's a sign you could be blessed with a girl 🥰 I feel like it's a boy as I have a boy from a previous relationship and baby's dad has 3 boys already too. I will be shocked if at my 20 week scan they say girl 🤣 either way I don't mind though.
Good luck with the prune juice 🤢

@anony1111 yeah well alot of boys run in my partners side of family aswell as my own! 🤣 so think I would be surprised too if they told me girl haha expecting for them to say boy tbh but like you say it doesn't matter either way aslong as baby is healthy! 😊 I just sent my photo to early glimpse just out of curiosity but I don't think it's right, considering fact they responded in less than an hour 🤣

I have my rescan next week as I was further behind than what we thought so I might send mine out of curiosity once I've had it!

@Tilly18101 mine are DCDA so they are hoping I’ll reach 37/38 weeks but I’m just going with the flow. I’m happy about getting more scans because it means we’ll get to see them more which is nice 💖are you going to find out what you’re having?

Yes we are, I need to prepare myself for twins. I don’t mind either way just want to get myself prepped and ready for everything. Are you? How exciting DCDA you might get one of each! Mine are MCDA so will be either boys or girls. Should be able to find out at our 16 weeks scan with the consultant, have you go yours booked?

I'm 14 weeks today and losing my ability to deal with MIL. She's already tried to say that she will be coming to see baby EVERY DAY and now she's criticising me for doing normal day to day tasks because I shouldn't be doing anything physical apparently (basically anything other than lying down is too much to her).

I don’t want to jinx things but I think my tiredness may be going, just had a sudden impulse to paint the dining room after I’ve been at work all day, whereas I’d normally be a sloth on the sofa 🙌🏼 I have my 12 week scan tomorrow and feel so nervous, the painting is helping to keep my mind busy. Good luck to everyone else with scans tomorrow, it’s been so lovely seeing everyone’s scan pictures so far and reading the positive updates 💗
