Finally managed to speak with my doctor regarding nausea, he's prescribed me promethazine teoclate. Has anyone taken this for sickness/nausea?

Glad you’re okay, ugh yes know exactly what you mean. Good for you for going to hr, hopefully they’ll be all over it as it opens them up to a legal minefield if that behaviour continues!!

I’m 11 weeks tomorrow, last 2 weeks nausea hasn’t been as bad. I thought I’d sussed that as long as I didn’t let myself get too hungry I was okay. Today it’s back with a vengeance.

How can something so small cause you to feel so crap 😫

Does anyone else feel like they look really pregnant already? I'm 8w4d and i honestly feel I look about 6 months pregnant! It's my second but surely a bump doesn't come this early and it must all be bloat somehow even though it feels hard 🤔

@Silverpixieflorence does yours come and go or is it permanent? I bloat but it comes and goes. In the evening I can look six months pregnant but by the morning it's flat stomach again

@SmartiesParty it's permanent! Unless I'm just bloated all day every day I think it might be here to stay 😅

@Mummapenguin20 yes exactly the same as me! I went into the office yesterday (normally work from home) and I swear people were looking at my stomach 🤦🏼‍♀️

@User0224 awww thank you! I’ve just got her into some very bad habits and its fine when you just have the one baby but the habits are so bad if I have her and a new born.

she still breastfeeds and she’s doing it for comfort I have no idea how to stop.
she co-sleeps this was due to her waking up in the nights a lot after I took her pacifier away at 10 months. She now likes to help herself to my boob whilst I sleep 😅

If I can get the breastfeeding and cosleeping to stop I’d be the happiest person ever. Any tips?

Urgh, I know what you mean! I have different issues, but same concept - desperate to solve them before #2 arrives as they take so much time and attention!

On 1 - All I can say is that my long-term breastfeeding friends are all still breastfeeding, so you’re not alone but yeah…frustrating. I’ve heard some people say once you’re at a certain stage in pregnancy the milk tastes different and the babies often go off it? Here’s hoping ! Mine is still obsessed with bottles and wants them during the night 🙃

On 2 - So I never co-slept but am getting more tempted each day, my child is waking up every hour atm. I naively thought she’d be sleeping through by now. No idea what to do if shes up all night AS WELL as a newborn…

All of this is to say, though our issues aren’t quite the same, I totally relate to the stress of wanting to solve them all asap!

@Hawk90 lovely news on the scan

@Clomid1 it's not for everyone, but we personally weaned off the boob and did gentle sleep training - a modified Ferber method. I had to go out the first night so there was no milk smell and my partner cracked on with it. We went from hourly wake ups and feeds to sleeping through the night 7-6.30 in his cot. The crying on the first night was 23 minutes (with partner going in and out), second night about 5 mins, and third night literally about 3 minutes. No crying after that, and he goes straight to sleep at 7pm every night.

From being a week behind they have caught up and just two days behind now.
So relieved and pleased everything was good!

Would you mind sharing what your modified Ferber method was? I’ve never tried sleep training but I’m averaging 4 hours’ sleep atm with no day naps as I work full time, it’s getting harder with each week x

@User0224 we were bumbling through to be honest. Quite a few of our group did Ferber to the letter with success, but I was nervous to. Ferber is popping back in in increasing intervals, 3 mins, then 5 mins, then 10 mins etc with no interaction. We did some patting and shushing also when we went in and phrases like it's sleepy time and shhh. Probably just for our benefit, don't know if it helped with the process.

And a sleep consultant had told my friend to give them a meal of porridge with almond butter and mashed banana an hour before bed, and then a big milk. Apparently it helps with the going to sleep and the sleeping through, so we did that for quite a while also.

Sympathise massively the lack of sleep was killing us with both working etc

@mumtotwox mine is also today at 8:45 and I’m 12+2 and super excited and nervous. I actually have struggled sleeping the last three nights thinking about it 🫣

Hello all, 12 weeks today. Given how exhausted and sick I’ve been this feels like a huge milestone. I know that just because I’m 12 weeks, it doesn’t necessarily mean I’m going to feel better right away, but just hoping and praying that I might be slowly coming out of the worst 🙏🏻. I have my NHS scan tomorrow.

Good luck to everyone having their scans! My scan tomorrow has been cancelled and moved twice since yesterday, now to the 23rd unfortunately and I am so devastated. I’ll be 14 and 1 day according to my private scan and 13 weeks and 6 days according to the NHS. I’m really worried they’ll be unable to do the screening properly if I’m measuring ahead again. I can’t stop crying, it seems so unfair to change it so drastically when I’ve been mentally preparing myself. Sorry for whining I know there’s worse things but it’s really got to me this morning. 😢

They said they’d had to cancel scan lists due to lack of sonographer availability. I tried both hospitals in my area and they both have said the same thing. I’d already been sent to a different hospital due to lack of appointments.

Hi all! New to this thread (was in the old Feb 2024 thread!) Had 12 week scan on Monday and all is looking well, due 15th Feb! Sympathy to those also suffering with digestive issues! Prune juice has been my friend this week 🤢 I’ve had no symptoms up to now, so guess I can’t complain too much!

Just out of my scan, all looks well and measuring 12+1. So 21st February for me, eek! Signing contracts to sell our house in 30 minutes so it's a very busy morning.

@Aries89 I'm sorry to hear about your scan being moved so far back, that really sucks 😞 about the screening though if they are measuring you too far ahead to be able to do the scan screening, they'll offer you the NIPT blood test instead which is more accurate anyway so you won't miss out entirely. If you can afford it, it's possible to get the NIPT done privately in the meantime so you don't have to wait until 23rd x
