Just got my bfp yesterday and EDD is early April 2024. Anyone else similar and feel like keeping each other company?

Thanks @Greenvelvetdress Hope you get your scan soon.

It's such a strange feeling being so excited but so cautious. Just trying to appreciate everyday that I am pregnant and taking that as a win!

Leo2609 · 31/07/2023 15:50

Hi - tentatively joining too! First time pregnant and according to my period/cycle tracker based on BBT I’m 4+5 but obviously won’t know accurate date until first scan…

trying to take each day as it comes and stay positive but also trying not to get ahead of myself!

Symptoms so far are sore breasts, absolute exhaustion (!!), and over the past couple of days, a little nausea and really painful trapped gas/constipation 😫 Have read that this is pretty common but it’s so unpleasant - any tips from seasoned mums on how to alleviate it a little?
and any tips on the exhaustion levels? Trying not to fall asleep at work even after 8 hours!!

consulting the hive mind as I feel a little lost in limbo waiting to book my midwife appt until 6-7 weeks…

Congrats to everyone else here too ☺️

HWGina · 31/07/2023 21:07

@LouH93 first for me too. I've been going through a cycle of being giddily excited and then feeling wiped out.

HWGina · 31/07/2023 21:09

@ASGIRC I've been getting a lot of gas, but I've also been making an effort to eat loads of fibre and vegetables, so I wasn't sure if it was just cos of that!

HWGina · 31/07/2023 21:13

@Windowboxer I'm with you on the strange feeling. I've been following a website that gives you the percentage chance of MC vs live birth on each day of your pregnancy, and I'm finding it quite reassuring watching the numbers change day by day. I found out 8 days ago and my percentage chances have already improved by 10% in that time.
I also find it a jarring feeling that I've just had this completely life changing news, and then... nothing changes. Nothing will really happen for weeks! I've just got to crack on as normal. Can't even tell anyone yet! I've booked a private viability scan at 7 weeks, partly for reassurance and partly so I've got something fairly soon to look forwards to.

ASGIRC · 31/07/2023 21:22

@HWGina whats that website?? Cause Ive been obsessing about this pregnancy not evolving nicely ever since I got my first faint line!
Ive told my mom and 1 friend... And now I still have 3 weeks to wait until my 7 week scan!!

I don't know if it'd make everyone feel better, but it helps me.

Apat10 · 01/08/2023 09:05

Hi all, can I join??

Tested positive on Saturday which was I think 13dpo give or take a day or two. Hadn't tested before then because I was away with work and was incredibly shocked to see a positive result on internet cheapies and a CB digital too!!!

I've been on letrozole via the NHS fertility clinic but actually this cycle was totally unmedicated because they couldnt get the dose right so told me to have a break until I'd spoken to the consultant which was meant to be today. Last period was 19th June but because of irregular ovulation due date looks likely to be April 7th or there abouts.

Still trying not to get too excited - I havent really got any symptoms at all except bloating more easily so I think I'm half expecting it all to go wrong even though I'm still getting good lines.

The fertility clinic have booked me in for an early scan 18th August so fingers crossed all goes well and I can start to let it sink in then!

LoobyLoo92 · 01/08/2023 09:13

5 weeks today 😊 this feels like a mini milestone I am celebrating.

I am having an ultrasound scan on Friday of my ovaries because of suspected PCOS. Obviously all booked in before I became pregnant but I'm hoping it can still go ahead, not sure if it would be internal or external but I am PRAYING they might be able to confirm the pregnancy is in the right place. I have no reason to suspect otherwise but It would be so reassuring to get confirmation.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 01/08/2023 09:13

Anyone got any good tips for morning sickness? I sat in front of the toilet for ages this morning feeling like I was about to throw up! The thought of this for another 8+ weeks is awful! 😩

Leo2609 · 01/08/2023 09:28

If there’s something you can stomach (crackers or breadsticks or something) then have some by your bed to snack on before you get up - I find sickness is a lot worse on an empty stomach so trying to keep snacking little and often to stave it off. Peppermint tea is also great for settling tummies.
Mine is coming in waves at the moment 🤢

Olivia199 · 01/08/2023 09:43

@BeingATwatItsABingThing - I really suffered with it in my first pregnancy and it'd seem it's back even earlier for this one. I've got every beige food you can imagine and slowly nibbling where I can. Ready Salted Crisps and Salted crackers by the bed to snack on before I get up, and the travel sickness bands for my wrists. Anything ginger is meant to help. I also found if my blood sugars were low then I'd feel worse, so sugary hard sweets to suck helped. Ice lollies for fluids.

But honestly? If it's really bad? Get to the GP. I saw mine yesterday for an unrelated matter but he's given me cyclizine. I had it in my last pregnancy and it's bloody marvelous. I'm now feeling miles better on the sickness front and able to function!

Last time I'd been throwing up horrendously by the time I had my booking appointment with the midwife.
She took one look at me, told me it wasn't something I had to just suck up and sent me packing to the GP. I figured it was all part of pregnancy but turns out you really don't have to suffer unnecessarily!

I actually found this very reassuring in my first. Weird, but reassuring.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 01/08/2023 10:02

Thanks @Olivia199 and @Leo2609

I’ll get DH to go to the shop and buy all the beige! 😂

Greenvelvetdress · 01/08/2023 11:11

Had a scan this morning which confirmed location and that I'm around 5 weeks. Got a clotting disorder so had to confirm location before I can start my blood thinners. Got a repeat scan booked next Thursday 🤞🏼

LoobyLoo92 · 01/08/2023 12:16

@Greenvelvetdress that's great they've confirmed location, one less thing to worry about.

It's something I am worried about, for no real reason, but would love to just put those 'what if' thoughts at bay.

naggy095 · 01/08/2023 13:27

So my hcg levels have come back at 98 at 5 weeks, so looks like I'm probably going to miscarry soon. My GP is referring me to EPU and was honest and said to prepare myself for bad news.

I'm going to leave the group now, good luck to everyone else I hope you all have healthy pregnancies 💕

BVIre · 01/08/2023 13:56

Hey! I am in the same boat as you! I’d love to join the april club but this would be my first pregnancy- I only tested this morning & am really doubting the result?

trying to hold off until tomorrow morning to do a first response test as the reviews I have read on the test I did aren’t great, some mentioning false positives! I’m around 13 DPO - does this look like a positive test to anyone?

it would be extra special if it was a true positive as my best friend had her first baby yesterday!

Anyone due April 2024?
Anyone due April 2024?
LoobyLoo92 · 01/08/2023 14:15

@BVIre I can clearly see the line and it looks like it has some pink to it which suggests it is a positive test. Is it pink-y coloured in real life? Definitely do another brand tomorrow, maybe even tonight if you can hold off peeing for at least 4hrs then it shouldn't be too diluted.

I got my bfp at 10dpo but I peed on the test window and I wasn't sure if that invalidated it - I know how hard it is to not be sure whether it's a real positive or not. Fingers crossed for you.

BVIre · 01/08/2023 14:20

Thank you so much! Completely in the trenches here trying to compare photos to other test pictures on Google- I do think there is a pinkish tone to it but might be wishful thinking!

this might be tmi but I have been trying to hold my pee in all day & it’s not working lol never been one with a strong bladder! Holding off until tomorrow morning & will try with the first response one!! Fingers crossed!!!

Ladybird24 · 01/08/2023 14:55

Hi all, I got my positive clear blues and frers on Sunday at around 9dpo...raging I tested so early as I feel like I'm on tenterhooks until my period due date passes (Thursday or Friday) I'm so excited but shocked at the same time that it doesn't feel real. I'm cramping in my lower back since 8dpo so I'm hoping everything is still going okay! If it gets worse I may ring the EPU and see what they say!

1st timer though so don't know whats normal at all! Happy and healthy 9 months to everyone 🤗

LouH93 · 01/08/2023 15:02

4+3 today and can’t help testing every day to see the lines get darker.

These were from an hour ago. I think i will stop testing now as i’m not sure how much darker it can get. Although i’ll probably take 1 more week indicator test next week to make sure its gone from 2-3 to 3+

Anyone due April 2024?
Con2018 · 01/08/2023 16:45

Are any of you from northern Ireland? Do you know if you can self refer to the midwives ? I have tried my gp all day yesterday and today and noone will talk to me they say they have reached their quota of phone calls today like how at 9am!!

Leo2609 · 01/08/2023 16:48

@Con2018 I’m afraid not, but that’s awful!

I have completed a self referral form online for the local hospital, but they won’t arrange a booking-in appointment until I’m 6-7 weeks anyway. Not sure if that’s different where you are?

sorry can’t be of more help - it’s a frustrating time waiting around!!

BVIre · 01/08/2023 17:05

I am from NI ! I have only the faintest of lines on my test that I took this morning so I probably am going to wait another week or two before I do anything about it! I don’t even know what the process is or who you are meant to ring/book in with.

I tried to get a doctors appointment a month ago for something else though & they have the same thing- you sit & spam for the phone line from 8:30am and by the time you get to 9am you haven’t actually spoken to anyone & all the slots are full!
