Just got my bfp yesterday and EDD is early April 2024. Anyone else similar and feel like keeping each other company?

I'm 4+4 today which I'm seeing as a mini milestone of being over half way through week 4. No real symptoms here apart from fairly rubbish sleep. I've started batch cooking some healthy meals for the freezer in case the sickness hits so at least hubby and daughter can eat well whilst I'm munching crackers. Last time even opening the fridge made me retch and plain pasta was about the limit I could cook. We play to our strengths normally and hubby does pretty much all the housework and I do all the cooking and I think if i left him to it with cooking they'd probably just eat eggs on toast every night so I'm thinking ahead!

@Rainbow890 Urgh that sounds exhausting, hopefully it eases soon.

@Housenoob Tricky decision and there are benefits to either.

@LouH93 I don't remember your previous post but assume you were worried about telling them because they were struggling TTC? If so what great news they're expecting too and you've got someone to share the journey with. I had terrible nausea in my last pregnancy but wasn't sick much, it was a huge relief when I was so I completely get where you're coming from.

@jumperoozles My little girl is nearly 4 and out of the really needy toddler stage but I still worry how I'll give her any energy or attention if I feel as bad as last time. Do you have any family or friends around who could help with your toddler if you're struggling?

@SurreyPsych How lovely you told your son and he's excited. Do you think he expected it?

@PigPug I felt like that on 14dpo, it's hard not to worry when it's something you want so much.

@fleur89 Wow what an incredible rollercoaster for you. Hopefully your scan next week gives you a bit more clarity and reassurance and everything is developing normally with the twins.

Had some bleeding overnight, a small amount and old blood but because I'm on loads of medicines going to ring the EPU at 7.30 and see what they say 😬 really hope everything is okay in there 🤞🏼

ekm21 · 16/08/2023 07:01

Hope everything is ok @Greenvelvetdress x

Hope everything is fine. You hear a lot of people in these forums saying they had bleeding and everything was okay. Thinking of you

Greenvelvetdress · 16/08/2023 07:39

Thanks @ekm21 and @Rainbow890 - they just said to observe and see if it gets heavier. Had planned to go to the seaside today so think I'll still do that to take my mind of it all.

My husband said that nothing I do or don't do would change what could happen anyway which has helped.

sugarplum33 · 16/08/2023 07:52

@Greenvelvetdress Hope the bleeding stops. A day at the seaside sounds like a good idea to keep your mind busy.

SurreyPsych · 16/08/2023 08:30

@Greenvelvetdress enjoy the sea air today.

@sugarplum33 you are so organised. We arrived home from a mini break last night and I wish I had food in the freezer. I don’t think there’s even anything in the fridge but I feel far too unwell to check right now. Maybe I’ll order McDonald’s. This nausea has been so cruel to me. I am someone who usually eats a very low carb / low sat fat diet and all I fancy right now is hash browns, chips, bacon sandwiches (haven’t given in to this one yet) etc… 😭
My son was very surprised by it’s something we’ve been discussing as a family for a while. My husband has been keen, I’ve been delaying.

@LouH93 that’s really good news about your friend. I hope the announcement went well and you’re feeling happy to have people to share in your excitement.

@Housenoob you didn’t sound shallow imo. I totally get that and I’d be thinking the same thing.

PerfectPairOfPlums · 16/08/2023 08:42

Please can I join. Just got my positive this morning which gives me an april due date 💕

PigPug · 16/08/2023 08:49

@PerfectPairOfPlums Congrats! How far along are you?

PerfectPairOfPlums · 16/08/2023 08:54

@PigPug roughly 12dpo

Anyone due April 2024?
FingersCrossedXXX · 16/08/2023 09:45

@greenvelvetdress Hope everything is okay, I'm sure it will be! Good to keep busy so enjoy your day.

@perfectpairofplums Congratulations! Is this your first?

Iamcatmum · 16/08/2023 09:54

Hi all! Hope you don’t mind me joining in too.

I had a faint line at 9DPO, and now at 12DPO have a darker line, so all fingers and toes crossed it’s a sticky one 😊

Due date would be around 28th April based on LMP!

CinderRosie · 16/08/2023 09:55

@PerfectPairOfPlums congratulations and welcome, have you worked out your due date?

@Greenvelvetdress sea air sounds a good plan to distract you today, I haven’t had bleeding as such but a bit of pink spotting on Sunday and Monday and I just told myself I can’t stop anything happening no matter what I do. Sending a hand hold x

Anyone else still shamelessly addicted to testing? I’m around 4.5 weeks now (19DPO) and think I am starting to get dye stealers but I need to step away from the tests now I think 😂

Anyone due April 2024?
Emilyj13 · 16/08/2023 09:56

Morning all,
I think I am around 18dpo but feel my line progression is really slow. I had a miscarriage my last pregnancy (1st pregnancy) so am worried as last time they were a lot darker at this point. Anyone think I should be worried?
I do feel like taking a picture shows it darker than what it is.

Anyone due April 2024?
PerfectPairOfPlums · 16/08/2023 09:59

That line progression looks great @Emilyj13

It will be my 2nd baby @FingersCrossedXXX

@CinderRosie I would be due around 23rd april based on last period

Blueskydreamer7 · 16/08/2023 10:19

Hi there, just joining in and trying to catch up on this (very long already!) thread! Is there another link to the Facebook group? It doesn't seem to be working anymore.

Baby3please · 16/08/2023 10:44

@Greenvelvetdress hope all is well. 🤞 Bleeding is so common in early pregnancy so hopefully it's nothing.

@PerfectPairOfPlums @Iamcatmum congratulations and welcome!

@CinderRosie for some stupid reason I grabbed some tests at the supermarket today. I wanted a dye stealer on a clear blue apparently lol. So anyway I took a test at 5+6 because I'm crazy and now I still have two tests in the pack that are basically pointless. 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

On the topic of telling people, DH and I haven't told anyone yet (except for my online friends from my last pregnancy). I'll be 6 weeks tomorrow and it feels so crazy to have known for 3 weeks and not told my family! I'm waiting until I've had a scan then we'll tell our family and maybe some friends. After the 12 week scan we'll announce on FB.

Anyone due April 2024?
Poppins2016 · 16/08/2023 10:56

On the subject of testing, I've been entertaining myself by using leftover OPKs, the lines are stunningly dark (almost purple rather than dark pink), much darker than a positive LH surge.

I was away on holiday for a few days and took an hcg test on Monday morning after getting back (line progression looked good, test line was darker than control). I'll take my remaining hcg test on Thursday morning before I go on holiday again and that'll be the last time I POAS (probably ever, as this will be my final pregnancy if all goes well). I have an early scan booked in for when I return from holiday (2 weeks) which I'm looking forward to... hopefully the countdown will go fast due to being away!

fleur89 · 16/08/2023 12:44

@FingersCrossedXXX due to my MMC earlier this year I'm really downplaying it all in my mind and trying not to get my hopes up too much. Identical twins would be wonderful if we get that far, it was never on the agenda but we'd be very happy if it happens for us. Aware it's such a long and challenging journey ahead though, especially if they are momo twins rather than modi twins.

Jb2189 · 16/08/2023 13:45

I had a reassurance scan with the hospital today due to a previous mmc and then a chemical. Measuring at 4.5mm and seen the heartbeat. All looked OK they said. She only took 1 measurement and it was abdominal so not sure how accurate the 4.5mm is as.i know when I had my early scans the last time it was showing smaller on the abdominal than it was the interal but it'll help me for how at least to know its in right place and has a heartbeat.

PerfectPairOfPlums · 16/08/2023 13:47

That's good news @Jb2189 when are you due?

FingersCrossedXXX · 16/08/2023 16:16

@jb2189 Ah that's great. How many weeks are you? I have a scan at EPU next Friday when I should be 6+1 and nervous about how much they will be able to see.

@fleur89 Yes I understand what you are saying. I had to Google it as hadn't heard of the term momo twins before. I hope time passes quickly until your next scan!

Jb2189 · 16/08/2023 17:06

@PerfectPairOfPlums I think I'm due around 3rd or 4th April going by lmp.

@FingersCrossedXXX I calculate myself at 6 weeks 5 days. They said scan says about 6 week mark but I know it can have a difference in the earlier scan. Especially if it was just an abdominal ans not internal so i reckon I'll be a bit bigger than the 4.5mm.

Babyrabbit1 · 16/08/2023 18:28

Hey was wondering if anyone can give me some advise.

I'm 4 weeks preg first time mum and i rang the midwife she said its too soon for an appointment and i need to call back when im 6 weeks, prev had a miscarriage at 5 weeks so im abit scared rn.

I live in the uk im guessing its different elsewhere so if anyone from the england here can help with some advice as to how i can get an appointment sooner will be much appreciatedBlush or even when you had your first appointments just for reassurance, thank you girls xxxx

ASGIRC · 16/08/2023 19:01

I have my scan tomorrow. I will be 6+6, so everything should be visible.
I flip between thinking everything is fine, and it will be great news tomorrow, to thinking, I havent had a dye stealer, or even really a hook effect test, and maybe things are no evolving as they should...

Currently in the doom and gloom mood...

Possibly not helped by the lack of appetite Ive been experiencing, which should be a great sign of pregnancy, but it is the only symptom I have, and what if things arent great?
