Just got my bfp yesterday and EDD is early April 2024. Anyone else similar and feel like keeping each other company?

@FingersCrossedXXX i was very tempted at 20 week scan. I thought I saw something indicating a boy haha but had to convince myself I didn't see anything 😂
Yes the idea of expecting a boy and having a girl doesn't really appeal to me, just the shock of it haha. I love guessing till the birth!

HelloMoon87 · 14/08/2023 19:51

@Rainbow890 ahh so close to the scan! I hope everything goes well! I think I'll book my 8 week scan end of this week.

Those with toddlers:

My little boy is 2 yo. He has rejected the pram last couple of weeks, preferring to be carried or walking (1 min at a time). I've been lifting him quite a bit but worried of carrying for long time. Are you still carrying them as usual?

Also he seems to have a sixth sense as he started finally getting along with his "baby" doll, giving them milk and taking to the park. Before last week, he would explicitly reject the doll, just threw out as soon as baby was mentioned 😂

Thanks. Its good to know im not alone. I just keep getting twinges but presumably its all just stretching and i see endless forums saying mild cramps are so normal.

Im 6 weeks tomorrow, if going by ovulation date. If by last bleed (which was my miscarriage) im 6+4. Its just all such a worry.

I have my midwife appointment end of the month and a private scan the next day when i should be 7+4....so hoping for a heartbeat and to be in the right place.

You hear so much talk about molar/blighted ovum/ectopics that i find it very overwhelming.

I said earlier I was going to try and relax. I’m really not relaxing, the cramps are getting to me and making me very anxious and worried :( it’s probably baby settling and things stretching, but can’t help but think the worst at this stage!

Angloitalian83 · 14/08/2023 20:04

@HelloMoon87 I am now super paranoid about what I'm writing 😂 🙈

My 3yo lump still likes to be carried occasionally, but at 2yo he was still very much wanting to be carried everywhere. I would bribe him into the pushchair with snacks but also worth seeing if you can get him on a scooter to save your back if he refuses a pushchair. If you start now with a scooter or balance bike, hopefully he'll be less reliant on being carried which is hard enough even without a pregnancy frankly!

Aww its a horrible anxious time. Remember and talk to yourself like how you would reply to someone on here who is anxious about cramps or a best friend. The chances are you will have so many examples of posters saying they had cramps and now have their 6 week old sleeping on them or are rubbing their 34 week old bump.

Thats what im doing to myself. Cramps are normal

CinderRosie · 14/08/2023 20:09

@Angloitalian83 i had a reply hidden this morning I think it was because I had posted twice already in quick succession and mum sent probably thought I was spamming haha.

I’ve just turned 37 and have wondered about the NIPT test but think we’d have to pay to go private for it… I am anxious about certain conditions and stuff though given my age.

My (giant) nearly 3yo still occasionally likes to be carried. I can still cope with it at the moment so I’m still enjoying my cuddles with her. She’s happy enough to go in the buggy though so I’m clinging to that.

@HelloMoon87 it's business as usual for me (I have an almost 2 year old and an almost 5 year old). I figure lifting your children comes under the exercise guidance of "don't start doing anything you're not already used to", plus it's not as though there's a choice...!
I remember carrying my (then) almost 3 year old and running while heavily pregnant in order to get to a dentist appointment we were late for... not something I was keen to repeat but it was fine 🤣

You are right I just tried that and it definitely works a little. I will make an effort to keep doing it 🥹

If you don't want to carry1 which I don't blame you they're bloody heavy- can you get a buggy board or something similar that he can ride on?

Hello all! Bit of a weird one over here....

I had a MMC in March with drawn out RPOC. Finally tested negative in June and then fell pregnant in late-July.

Went for a scan at what I thought was 6 weeks based on lh surge and temping, I was pretty sure of dates and got a faint line at 9dpo (19 July). They saw 2 sacs - one 5mm with nothing in it (said potential vanishing twin) and one sac with a yolk sac in it. 2 eggs had been released so I hyperovulated (higher probability after a MC). Told to get a repeat scan 7 days later.

Went in today.... one sac observed with TWO yolk sacs inside it. One with fetal HB & tiny fetal pole and the other "looking very normal and healthy so expect a HB & fetal pole soon". They're pretty close together so I guess they split in the sac.

VERY weird. The doctors couldn't explain it. They said because I hyperovulated, the empty sac seen last week May have been the first egg and it miscarried (makes sense as sac almost invisible now). Then I may have released the second egg later and this split to become twins and one was hiding at the last scan (rare but possible). Seems one is slightly ahead of the other which is worrying - twins sharing the same sac are super high risk. Been told to go back AGAIN next week.

I went for early scans because of my history of MC but didn't expect this crazy rollercoaster.

Attached is my picture. I guess I'm close to
6 weeks.... feel pretty nauseous and had an awful lot of twinges during the TWW. Craving sour sweets and surviving on crackers already. Gone off eggs, salad, meat etc. as with my successful singleton pregnancy (now DD1, 18 months).

Just wanted to share as my head is a mess right now and I'm feeling anxious about all the risks and uncertainties.

Anyone due April 2024?
HelloMoon87 · 15/08/2023 00:03

Hi @fleur89 🖐️,

Big hugs to you and I'm so sorry you went through so much shock last few weeks. I am glad you did the early scans so that you have all the information.

I've never heard of momo twins, and also didn't know that you could ovulate at different times with one cycle, and that you could have hyper ovulate and the egg splitting in two within one cycle. What are the chances. But also while the risks are higher, the chances of having two healthy babies are much much higher it seems, and having a good tracking from the beginning will hopefully reassure you and keep you informed of everything as time goes.

I do hope everything goes well, I've got everything crossed for you xx

HelloMoon87 · 15/08/2023 00:09

@Angloitalian83 @faban great ideas on scooter and buggy board. I'll try these ideas next week. I already have one of each at home, even though he hasn't shown interest in either just yet.

@Poppins2016 I'd say I do carry him, but not as much as he wants now. He just decided he hates the buggy 2 weeks ago 🥴

HelloMoon87 · 15/08/2023 00:10

@missmae hope cramping eases tomorrow, sorry to hear you're worried 🙁

ekm21 · 15/08/2023 06:01

Is anyone else feeling nauseous ALL DAY 😩 I’m trying to work out how this lasted for last time, I know it’s a good sign but wow it’s not pleasant and trying to pretend at work all day that I don’t feel like I’m going to vomit at any point is getting harder

Greenvelvetdress · 15/08/2023 06:23

@ekm21 yep 😩 only really let's up when I make myself eat, then feel sick again a little while later! Morning sickness is such a myth 😂

SurreyPsych · 15/08/2023 07:13

@ekm21 and @Greenvelvetdress same here.
According to LMP I’m 7 weeks today and I’ve been feeling progressively nauseous every day since around 5.5 wks. I have had this experience before and it was torturous. I mentioned up thread that I’ve been taking travel sickness tablets (I am travelling, but my GP suggested this in a previous pregnancy) and it has given me huge relief. That said, I’m left with the worry that goes with any medication in pregnancy.
I feel from the second I wake up. I’m trying to eat little and often but I can’t find things I fancy (I already have a pretty selective diet).

@Babyrabbit1 congratulations and welcome 💕

@fleur89 gosh, that is complex. I think something equally confusing happened to an insta-mum. She has triplets, one was fertilised a few days before, so is actually older in that way, and then days later a second egg was fertilised and split to have identical twins. It’s all way too intellectual for me, I can’t get my head around it.
How are you feeling?

Monday55 · 15/08/2023 07:27

I don't have nausea yet. My only symptoms so far are fatigue, cramps and insomnia. With last pregnancy my morning sickness & nausea didn't kick in until the 9weeks mark

The cramps can be pretty intense, which is scary, but I'm trying to keep my cool.
I managed to deal with the insomnia last night. I changed my gym session to the evening instead of morning. Which I believe helped me sleep for 6hours straight as opposed to 3hrs.

SurreyPsych · 15/08/2023 07:46

Massive well done on doing even gym classes during this stage @Monday55. Sorry about the cramps and insomnia. Is that something you experienced before?

Rainbow890 · 15/08/2023 07:47

I had one morning of nausea last week resulting in me not making it home and i had to stop to be sick but nothing other than no energy since.

Its really worrying when your symptoms arent a lot. Im 6 weeks today and no nausea or sickness.

My symptoms are
Tiredness
Insomnia which is so unlike me
Sore boobs and nipples
Occasional acid burps
Constipation and diarrhoea intermittently

Anyone else?

Cinderz123 · 15/08/2023 07:52

@Rainbow890 all of the above with the exception of acid burps, the insomnia is driving me to brink of insanity!! 5wks today x
