Just got my bfp yesterday and EDD is early April 2024. Anyone else similar and feel like keeping each other company?

On pregnancy vitamins, this looks so expensive but cute!

Hope everyone is feeling okay!

I went to see my dentist this morning urgently as I had pain all weekend and was unbearable at times. Turns out it's TMJ :( so not much can be done and my wisdom tooth is looking abit dodgy but he's abit hasty of taking it out as I'm so early on into my pregnancy.

How has everyone referred themselves to the midwife? My surgery has a maternity page which says "if you'd like to give birth at the local hospital please complete this form" which you do then it says to call back once you've turned 6 weeks to get booked in with a community midwife. I might call the surgery just to check this is correct but its a nightmare getting through to them...

I did an online form and then they called to book me in when I was 8+3... I wanted to see my old MW but they wouldn't let me book in with her as it's a random selection so I text her and she's going to try and change it. She was so lovely, my 10 min apps would last ages cos we'd just talk so much. I'd love to see her again and itl be lush to take my daughter to see her! She was just amazing, it makes such a difference!

I called our GP and they advised me to fill out a self referral form, which I then emailed to the hospital. I got an email the next day, both midwife and the first scan booked in a few weeks time!
Unfortunately I had to call to change one of the appointments are but other than that, very easy.

If I remember the instructions correctly, we should prepare ourselves for a fairly long day on the day of the scan? My scans will be taking place in King's college hospital which is not exactly close to where I live 😅

Rosesandlilys · 14/08/2023 16:21

Hi everyone!
I am 5 weeks today due 10th April!

I have started getting pain in right thigh has anyone else got anything similar?

I referred myself online to the midwife and heard back same day with an appointment at 8 weeks!

They do they do it as soon as you test positive from what I've read online but im very new to this!

Jb2189 · 14/08/2023 17:09

@Bluesky85 thanks that's a bit reassuring. I shouldn't even try take symptoms into account as I still had them when I miscarried in March and only found out I miscarried due to an early scan. Just weird how they go from being so sore, to nothing 😂

SurreyPsych · 14/08/2023 17:19

Thanks for asking @sugarplum33. You’re so thoughtful.

Trip is going well, I’m surviving because of those 2 travel sickness tablets a day. I need to check in with the Dr when I get home, because I’m a bit nervous about it now. I haven’t actually told my Dr yet, I think I can book directly with the community midwife team. I’ll do that when I get home.

It’s so expensive in Amsterdam, I need to eat little and often but that’s breaking the bank! Did around 13k steps yesterday and had quite a bit of stomach pain, and now some spotting today but trying not to worry about it. It isn’t fresh blood so I’m sure it’s all just growing out etc. according to dates I’m 7wks tomorrow.

I’m so tired… anyone else?

ASGIRC · 14/08/2023 12:28

@missmae Ive had some chocolate salami (its an amazing thing of chocolate,, butter and rich tea biscuits), and packed some more snacks to take with me to work... Im not hungry yet, but I know I will be... And I wont want to eat any of it!

My embryo was a 3AA, which is statistically 70% likely to be a girl (girl embryos develop slower, apparently!), so I have the best chance. But if it is a boy, Ill be happy all the same. Just need to change the mindset!

Lmao chocolate salami I really pictured chocolate with salami. I was like damn what a craving 😂. I need something sweet tbh, I am feelings biscuits or cake 😭

and oh wow! That’s interesting, yeah you definitely have more chance of it being a girl then! 🥹

missmae · 14/08/2023 17:30

@BlossomTree123 @MLN89 yeah I don’t think I’m too worried now tbh, as they’re hardly even noticeable anymore! If I sit and think about it I can feel it 😂 so yeah I guess it’s just preparing itself 🥹💖

Is the thing she’s holding the gummy?! They do look very cute 😂

Yes it's so cute! I think I'll try it one month a bit later on just to change up. I've ordered Proceive first trimester as I actually haven't got any pregnancy tablets at home, just my folic acid and vit d. I'm taking quite high dose 800 folic acid and 1500miu vit d, but it should be ok to downgrade to usual recommended dose I think.

HelloMoon87 · 14/08/2023 17:58

We were talking about finding gender. I think I'll keep that a surprise as we did with our son. Secretly I am hoping for a girl, to have one each, because if I have another boy, I would likely not try for 3rd (in case it's 3 boys 🤣), but I love being a boy mum. Our son is very chill 🙏

I might try harmony test as I will be 37 next April, so would like to know of any risks.

HelloMoon87 · 14/08/2023 17:59

Has anyone done any beta tests 14-18 dpo? I'm a bit anxious about my lines still, though they are looking a lot better now than few days ago, the slowest progression ever. I've done a beta test today, at dpo 16, not really sure what level I should expect, I am thinking at least 300?

Rainbow890 · 14/08/2023 18:02

My anxiety got the better of me today and I ended up calling my EPU as i was getting a dull ache very low down in the pubic area
It felt quite surface level, almost as if i could believe there was a spot or something. But obviously my mind went to ectopic (why??? - maybe because "i just knew" and "i just knew" when I was away to lose my first pregnancy)
Thankfully the midwife was amazing and reassured me but i just dont think I will settle till i get a scan in just under 2 weeks.
Pregnancy after loss is SO HARD!!! I feel so stupid phoning my EPU but i couldn't focus.

Also really praying for more symptoms other than a bit of bloat, tiredness and sore boobs. I know thats annoying to hear for those who are suffering with nausea etc. Anyone else?

Bugdem123 · 14/08/2023 18:05

I think I’ll book an early gender scan for 16 weeks. It’s not something I ever thought I would do but now I’m pregnant I really want to. My husband thinks I’ve lost my mind 😅.

I don’t really “feel” pregnant yet. My boobs are tender and feel huge and solid and I’m shattered. I’ve been in bed asleep between 9 and 10 every night but I am waking up at like 5am. I’m only 4w5d so I know it’s so early. I don’t really know what I expected it to feel like! Can’t decide if I’m hoping to start feeling something else soon or whether I should just enjoy this.

HelloMoon87 · 14/08/2023 18:06

@Rainbow890 I've actually not had any symptoms since dpo 8 (which I'm guessing was when I implanted), and together with line progression, it is a big worry. I've had early losses, and my mind is not sure how this will pan out so I'm expecting something to go wrong even though I know I should also enjoy it. It is hard so I totally sympathize and calling EPU is absolutely the best thing you can do if you're worried. I am thinking of getting early scan potentially with EPU if my Dr can refer there. Otherwise, I'd go private. How far are you?

It is cute, I might have a look myself. I’m only taking folic acid at the moment at 400 but I’m running low on them! I was also taking 800 folic acid before as well but I am on my 400 dose now!

Poppins2016 · 14/08/2023 18:47

I had a call from a lovely home birth midwife earlier and my booking in appointment has been arranged for 2nd Sept, so it's all beginning to feel much more real now! I had my second baby at home and I'm aiming for the same again with this one. She's new to the team so I've not met her yet, but we really clicked on the phone so I'm feeling really positive (she'll be my 'lead' midwife and the aim will be for her to attend my birth if she's on shift).

sugarplum33 · 14/08/2023 19:06

@CinderRosie It sounds like a similar referral process here, fill in the form whenever and then phone between 6-8 weeks. I don't know whether to phone when I'm 6 weeks by my dates or by LMP.

@ASGIRC How interesting there are such different boy/girl odds depending on your embryo grading, I never knew that.

@Boymama22 Tooth pain is rotten, I hope it eases for you and your wisdom tooth doesn't need to come out any time soon.

@SurreyPsych Thank goodness the tablets are helping with the worst of it. 13k steps is impressive when you're not feeling 100%!

@Rainbow890 Sorry to hear you're feeling so anxious, it must be such a worry facing pregnancy after loss.

@Poppins2016 A home birth sounds fabulous! I dreamt of a lovely natural birth the first time but ended up with a CS after a failed induction. It wasn't the plan but it was a really positive experience and I'll definitely be requesting an ELCS this time. It's great you can hopefully see the same midwife throughout pregnancy and have them attend your birth.

Rainbow890 · 14/08/2023 19:09

Thanks. Its good to know im not alone. I just keep getting twinges but presumably its all just stretching and i see endless forums saying mild cramps are so normal.

Im 6 weeks tomorrow, if going by ovulation date. If by last bleed (which was my miscarriage) im 6+4. Its just all such a worry.

I have my midwife appointment end of the month and a private scan the next day when i should be 7+4....so hoping for a heartbeat and to be in the right place.

You hear so much talk about molar/blighted ovum/ectopics that i find it very overwhelming.

@MLMLN89 I'm sure I heard on Mumsnet somewhere before that the early sneak peak gender test can really easily be contaminated with any male DNA and would give the result of a boy. Like even if you have a male dog and a dog hair was to interact with the test, it would say it's male. I think I'd spend the entire time wondering if it was right as I live with 3 men (2 humans and a dog 😂) so could easily happen!

Angloitalian83 · 14/08/2023 19:39

@HelloMoon87 I will also very likely have the NIPT / harmony test

Angloitalian83 · 14/08/2023 19:41

What on earth have I written that has triggered my post for a review?!

I am getting paranoid that I've written something awful without even noticing 😂

HelloMoon87 · 14/08/2023 19:42

@Angloitalian83 😂 I was laughing when I saw that! Maybe some acronym that mumsnet decided to check 😂
