Just got my bfp yesterday and EDD is early April 2024. Anyone else similar and feel like keeping each other company?

@missmae same I never get them and my first one started b4 I tested n has only just gone since then iv had 3 separate tongue blisters and now the roof of my mouth is really sore!

@CinderRosie yes we do lol was weird seeing the cinder part of ur name thinking I didn't write that 😆 then I read the full name lol mine seem to go to be replaced by yet another this is all new to me as I don't ever get mouth sores?

Also, I completely forgot about those sneak peak tests. They’re blood tests aren’t they? Thanks for reminding me because I know I’m deffo going to do one now 🤣🤣🤣

@missmae Oops sorry for depleting your bank balance haha! Yeah they are a blood test you do yourself, I've seen YouTubers and people doing them. I saw one lady though who's result said boy but she actually had a girl. I think DNA from any men and boys in the house can contaminate the test or something.

@missmae crazy how fast it changes! I went from no appetite at all for a bit, to now super hungry most of the day. The cravings for chocolate are terrible! Yeah my midwife seems like such a caring person. ❤️ It's so hard not to worry over everything! But I'm really trying to tell myself to relax because I genuinely thought I was having a miscarriage with my daughter and she was fine. So I probably shouldn't assume anything anymore haha.

@sugarplum33 it is honestly amazing what some men can sleep through. 🤦🏼‍♀️ Yeah here you just contact a midwife as soon as you get a positive test, we have a website called find your midwife lol. You put in location, due date etc and each midwife has a wee bio to read and usually a photo and you just contact whoever sounds good to you. There are some clinics where you don't have a specific midwife, you might see three different ones throughout your pregnancy. But generally you have a specific midwife and they have a backup. Funny thing is, my midwife this time, is actually the backup for my previous one! I couldn't have my previous one this time because she's on holiday in April, but I'm actually glad because her backup is way more onto it lol.

@CinderRosie there would be no point in me doing one of those tests. I'm too skeptical lol. I was told I was having a girl at 20 weeks and it took me so long to believe it! I had scans every 4 weeks from then and every time I was expecting it to suddenly be a boy. I had to be put under GA for my daughter's c section and was actually scared I'd wake up and they'd tell me my girl is actually a boy. 😂 At least my boys 20 week scan was very clear what he was. 😂

@CinderRosie lol it’s fine I do it all the time 😂. And yeah I’ve heard about that too, I’d be worried that would happen as I do ideally want a boy so if it was inaccurate I’d cry 😂.

@Baby3please see its weird I kind of have no appetite like I’m not craving any certain foods, but I have to eat because I am starving. But same time I have no appetite if that makes any sense 🙈😂. Ah did you! Yeah it’s so hard not to worry though isn’t it. Maybe meditation will help 😂 I know i’m going to try and relax as much as possible but easier said than done!🥹

@missmae I totally get that! My eating habits are all over the show at the moment. I should probably meditate but it sounds like hard work. 😂 I swear just keeping busy is the best thing to take your mind off it. I also listen to audible at night otherwise my mind would be going crazy while I try to get to sleep lol.

@Baby3please hard work, that made me laugh 😂. Tbf yeah you’re right, since I’ve been up and about the cramping/aching hasn’t been so noticeable. But audible is a good idea too! I haven’t been struggling to sleep yet tho!

Talking about finding out the sex, I definitely will either at 20 weeks or if I get an earlier private scan slightly earlier. I like the idea of waiting for the surprise but also like to be prepared! I already have a little boy and would like a girl next as we may stop at 2 but I'm really not too bothered. I have a feeling I will be a boy mom! If I have another boy, it may just mean that we have to try for another later on down the line 😂

I have my private scan booked for next Friday, excited and nervous! I feel like this pregnancy is going to go soooo slow though!

Thats exactly how Im feeling as well... Zero apetite, but starving!
Im finding it really hard to eat anything... And obviously, end up eating crap.
Its driving me absolutely mad!
I usually love food and am alays planning the next meal! I should be having lunch right now, and I cant face any of the things I have at home...

I am definitely finding the sex, and hoping for a girl, because all my life I thought Id only have girls (because I am a carrier for a genetic illness that only affects boys, so any boy pregnancies would probably not be carried to term), but Im not using my eggs, so thats not a factor anymore, but its hard to go against a lifetime of conditioning!

@sugarplum33 ive just started the pregnacare they're fine to swallow, I like that there's so much in them I was just on folic acid before so feels like I'm doing well for myself 😂

@missmae im having a few cramps as well, I remember being referred to the EPU with my daughter and they wouldn't see me because it's just so common x

@faban ah okay! Yeah it is so early it would be kind of pointless to have a scan. It’s nothing major anyway it’s very mild, kind of like tummy ache tbh 🤔

Honestly I’ve just had my normal berries and Greek yoghurt and I had a lot literally like half an hour ago. And I’m starving again.. the joys😂

oh that’s very interesting to know, well I hope you do get your little girl! I know what you mean though I was the same, I wanted only girls until I found out my last was a boy and now all I want are boys! 😂 it’s a shame it’s not like the sims where you eat carrots for a boy. 🤦🏼‍♀️sigh how simple it would be 😂

@missmae Ive had some chocolate salami (its an amazing thing of chocolate,, butter and rich tea biscuits), and packed some more snacks to take with me to work... Im not hungry yet, but I know I will be... And I wont want to eat any of it!

My embryo was a 3AA, which is statistically 70% likely to be a girl (girl embryos develop slower, apparently!), so I have the best chance. But if it is a boy, Ill be happy all the same. Just need to change the mindset!

I had to Google chocolate salami! I am finding it so hard to eat, I feel so sick constantly but then when I eat it does ease up, just hard to make yourself eat when you feel sick.

Keep reminding myself it's a good thing though 🤞🏼

@sugarplum33 @faban @Bluesky85 thanks so much! So helpful to have all the info, was feeling worried that I was the only woman in the world waiting until 12 weeks but you're right that forums are just a snapshot. 8 or 12 weeks still feels like an eternity to wait!!

How has everyone referred themselves to the midwife? My surgery has a maternity page which says "if you'd like to give birth at the local hospital please complete this form" which you do then it says to call back once you've turned 6 weeks to get booked in with a community midwife. I might call the surgery just to check this is correct but its a nightmare getting through to them...

@CinderRosie mine was the same, I then got an appointment a couple of weeks later for the Saturday just gone, when I was 8 weeks by LMP. I'd wait a bit first and see if you hear x

Has anyone else's symptoms eased off? I had a mmc in March so super anxious. My boobs were so sore last week but pain seems to have disappeared over the weekend. Nausea doesn't seem as bad either now. I'm roughly 6 weeks 3 days.

@missmae i have had slightly cramps too. Now 4w today. I think it’s just like the uterus getting ready?? I did have them with my first. They aren’t severe but noticeable

@FingersCrossedXXX I'm already obsessed over finding out the sex to the point I considered doing the sneak peek test 😂. I've got a 2yo daughter and would love another girl. So random as I wanted a boy with her and now I've no desire whatsoever to have a boy and I'd love her to have a sister. Do you have a preference?

@missmae I've had mild to moderate back pain and cramping. I had the exact same with my daughter the whole first trimester and she's just fine ❤️

@CinderRosie the exhaustion was the worst part of pregnancy for me last time and it's already started again 😭. I went to bed at 11 and slept till 7:30. Got my daughter off to her Grans and went back to bed until I started work at 11:30 and I'm still tired! Pregnancy exhaustion is something I don't think anyone could truly understand unless they've experienced it

@ASGIRC that's so interesting about female embryos developing slower! My best friend is due to have her first frozen egg transfer this month!

@Jb2189 when I reached 6 weeks my symptoms completely disappeared for about 3 days! I’m about 6+6 now and they are back with a vengeance!

@MLN89 it's been studied, it seems! 80% of 5AA embryos are boys.
I have 70% chance of a girl, on my 3AA. Which is fair odds, I'd say.

@missmae I don't feel sick, fortunately. Only have slight nausea when I'm soooo hungry, but you'd get that without being pregnant as well.

I just don't want to eat anything. Cold things seem more appetising than non cold things, but not by much!
