Just got my bfp yesterday and EDD is early April 2024. Anyone else similar and feel like keeping each other company?

Congratulations to everyone. Excited to be sharing this journey with you!

I found out a little bit over a week ago I was expecting my first. It was a surprise and a shock at first, but now I can't wait. 🥰

I'm unsure what my due date is, as I suspect I ovulated quite late that month. The first date of my period was 29.6. but I know I must have conceived and ovulated after 17.7.

Based on my estimated conception date being 21.7. (based on my basal body temperature) my due date is 11.4.2024 and I'm on my sixth week of pregnancy 5+4.

I've got my first midwife appointment booked 5th of Sep and first scan 20th. That would mean my first scan would be when I'm 10+6. I wonder if that's too soon? It's obviously booked assuming I am on my 12th week. What do you think?

PigPug · 14/08/2023 08:37

I think/hope I can join! I got a BFP yesterday on what I think is 11dpo and then stronger line today. Period is not due until Tuesday or Wednesday though so waiting to check it doesn't come. Anxiety that it may be a chemical is real.

This is our first and TTC for 4 months.

I was surprised how clear my lines were for 11 and 12 dpo.

Anyone due April 2024?

I’m smiling my head off reading all of these posts. Congratulations all round ❤️

Butterfliesandroses · 14/08/2023 09:04

Congratulations and welcome all 💕

sugarplum33 · 14/08/2023 09:08

Aww lots more BFPs, congrats all!

I was sleeping so much better last night, then the smoke alarm went off and I bolted out of bed and ran downstairs at 3am. Thankfully the house wasn't on fire and I have no idea why it was sounding but I obviously didn't really sleep after that drama!

@Baby3please That sounds awful for you, I can't believe the care can vary so much and there's so little provision for women in early pregnancy.

@FingersCrossedXXX I'd love to wait and find out at birth but I'm way too impatient so I imagine I'll find out at 20 weeks again. It was lovely being able to use my daughter's name before she was born though and know just that little bit about who she was.

@faban I have a daughter too and I see myself with another daughter, but that's probably just because it's what I know. I think she would choose a sister if she had a choice but if she ended up with a sister who was half as bossy and highly strung as she is, I bet she'd backtrack and choose a laid back brother haha.

@Mimmi92 Unfortunately I don't think the NHS pay much attention to what we know about our cycles and conception dates and everything goes off the date of your LMP, even if you know you have long cycles or ovulated later. If your scan is a bit too early and they can't get the information they need then they will most likely just book you in for another scan so don't worry about it. A lot of women have to go back for a second scan if baby isn't in a great position or the sonographer can't take the measurements for any reason.

Great lines @PigPug!

@SurreyPsych How is the holiday going?

missmae · 14/08/2023 09:21

looking for some kind of reassurance, I’m roughly 4+2/3. But I’ve been very achey/light cramps for the last 2 days but it’s constant. Has anyone else been experiencing this?🥺

Baby3please · 14/08/2023 09:22

@Roxyroxy11 congratulations! Fingers crossed for a sticky baby!

@FingersCrossedXXX congrats! Sorry to hear about your ectopics. I'm gonna find out the sex, I always do. There's no way I could cope not knowing lol. I like to be prepared!

@faban I've got a boy and a girl so not really too worried. Although I do have a lot of really beautiful girls clothes I'd love to reuse lol

@missmae it's not to the point of actually being sick so it's manageable! I felt nauseous at dinner time, managed to eat my meal, then an hour later was absolutely starving and had to have some toast. 🤦🏼‍♀️😂

@Mimmi92 congratulations and welcome! 10+6 does seem like an odd time to have a scan, late for a dating scan but early for a nuchal scan.

@PigPug congratulations that line looks great!

@sugarplum33 oh wow how scary! Glad it wasn't actually a fire!

Yeah I'm just so glad the midwife I chose this time seems really lovely and really onto it. This is the first pregnancy I've been offered hcg tests to make sure everything is okay. And she even lied for me so I can get a dating scan.

I've had some light cramping recently but not super consistent. I remember having back pain/cramping and bleeding early on in my last pregnancy and everything was fine.

missmae · 14/08/2023 09:24

@Baby3please oh that’s alright then! Yeah that’s like me I’m just always so hungry now. Not even hungry, like starving😂 your midwife sounds so cool😂I love that for you!

missmae · 14/08/2023 09:26

@Baby3please okay! I mean they are like light dull cramps. I am slightly worried as I don’t remember having it like this last time but I know its different each time. I guess as long as there’s no bleeding it should be fine! I’ll try not to worry lol!

Bugdem123 · 14/08/2023 09:31

@missmae i had this last week between 3w+5 and 4w+2. It was really consistent and at points quite sore. I phoned the EPU and other than being told I’m essentially on my own until week 6, she said I could take paracetamol as normal and use a hot water bottle. Both helped as did some yoga and going for a walk. I didn’t have any bleeding either and it’s now went away. I’m hoping it was just implantation.

sugarplum33 · 14/08/2023 09:32

@Baby3please God I know, the worrying thing is DH didn't even hear it until I bolted 😬 maybe men are telling the truth when they say they never heard their child wake haha

So funny how different systems work, we just see whichever midwife we are given and it can be different midwives throughout. It's good you can choose though and that this midwife is really helpful.

@missmae Is this your first pregnancy? There's lots going on in the early weeks which can cause crampy feelings. I don't think it's anything to worry about as long as it's only mild.

HelgaPatakisDiary · 14/08/2023 09:32

Hi all! Haven't posted for a while so thought I'd check in. So nice to see all these messages/support on the thread.

I'm 6 weeks today and feeling mostly fine, apart from the really painful boobs and crampy pelvic area. I've been loving the Premom and Pregnancy+ apps as they give a daily update on pregnancy progress and a 3D view of how baby looks today!

I've been sharing the articles with my partner and he's been amazed learning about it all.

Anyone have any other app recommendations?

Also- the Baby Show is coming to Olympia on October and I'm planning to get tickets. Has anyone been before- is it worth going?

Cinderz123 · 14/08/2023 09:34

Morning ladies is anyone suffering with mouth sores?? Ulcers and blisters u know those tiny ones on ur tongue that are painfully annoying? Iv read its a thing in pregnancy but surely not this early on

I've been cramping/sore uterus since 8dpo and I'm now 25dpo. I've read it's totally normalFlowers

CinderRosie · 14/08/2023 09:37

Morning everyone and congratulations on the new BFPs! It's nice to see a few more people who are due later on in April like me (due 21st).

I had a tiny tiny amount of pale pink spotting in my underwear yesterday which sent my brain into a tizz. Did another easy @ home test this morning and it was even darker than yesterdays so I'm trying to keep calm.

The insomnia is absolutely flooring me. Last night I went to bed at 10pm when tired and fell asleep pretty much straight away but couldn't stay asleep at all. I got up at 6:30 for work and now I just want to nap 😴

I don't think we will find out the sex, I have DS (aged 18) already and it would be nice to have a girl but I don't mind if it's a boy. This is DH's first and he's also said he'd like a girl if he could choose! It's insane to think the sex is already decided 😱 Has anyone seen those Sneak Peek tests you can buy which tell you the sex from like 7 weeks?!

missmae · 14/08/2023 09:38

@Bugdem123 okay thank you that’s helpful, i think I may try those. I do yoga but I haven’t since as I wasn’t sure if it was safe to or not! Hopefully it is just implantation 🤔

@sugarplum33 no this is my third, tho no babies to show for it unfortunately. My last I got to 19 weeks which was in April this year. I do remember having cramps with him around this time too but obviously can’t remember how long for and I’m sure they were just on and off for a couple of days. It is only mild so hopefully stops soon!

sugarplum33 · 14/08/2023 09:39

Does anyone have any recommendations for pregnancy vitamins? I've nearly finished my pack of pregnacare conception so time to move over onto the pre-natal vitamins, yay! I'm getting on fine with pregnacare so I could just go straight to their pre-natal version but the tablets are huge and I'm sure I ended up last time not being able to manage them with sickness and just took a tiny folic acid tablet. Are all pregnancy vitamins so big?

Yes I developed a mouth ulcer I think around 10dpo when I got my first faint positive. It’s only just gone now at 16dpo! I never get them so was another sign for me!

missmae · 14/08/2023 09:40

Ah okay! Thank you this is reassuring 🥹🫶🏼

CinderRosie · 14/08/2023 09:40

@Cinderz123 we have such similar usernames love it!! I am prone to mouth ulcers anyway and had one last week, it cleared up quite quickly though.

@missmae I had very very mild crampy feelings from 11DPO. I found they went off if I walked or stretched out a bit.

Bugdem123 · 14/08/2023 09:41

@missmae i think if you’re used to it, then continuing what you’ve previously done is fine. I normally go to a weights/circuits class and from what I’ve read online it seems I’m fine to continue as long as I take my time and don’t push it.

The Down dog app has a pregnancy version that you could use too? Hopefully it’s just everything settling in. It’s a worrying time though.

sugarplum33 · 14/08/2023 09:42

@missmae Sorry I remember you saying now. I'm sure it's all normal stretching and growing and hopefully they'll reduce and stop soon.

CinderRosie · 14/08/2023 09:43

@sugarplum33 I've started the seven seas pregnancy ones as they were cheaper than pregnacare but seemed identical in ingredients but they are still fairly big, I think all pregnancy ones are. I'm sure I've also seen gummies available which might be easier if they are chewable?

missmae · 14/08/2023 09:45

Thank you ladies it is an anxious time so it’s nice to be told and reassured by others who are in the same position 🙏🏼

@Bugdem123 ah okay that’s helpful I’ll have a look at that app thank you! As I do my yoga at home anyway so I will check this out 🥰
