Just got my bfp yesterday and EDD is early April 2024. Anyone else similar and feel like keeping each other company?

Anyone else waking up with what feels like a massive hangover? It's awful!

Caitlin991 · 10/08/2023 07:42

@faban yes, I woke up feeling awful this morning. I think I’m already at the point that I need a snack in the night, otherwise I get too hungry and then just feel so so nauseous & struggle to keep anything down.
I’m not sure timing getting pregnant with returning to work after maternity was my finest choice…I am struggling!

Bugdem123 · 10/08/2023 07:44

Me! But I can’t tell if it’s just because I’m tired or not as I keep waking up lots during the night and then I’m wide awake from 4.50/5am. Not sure if it’s because I’m quite anxious or if it’s hormones.

It’s my birthday today and I’m going to tell my parents and my brother. I can’t wait to see their reactions. There’s a wee voice telling me I shouldn’t as maybe it’s too early but I’d be telling them if something went wrong so I feel like we should get to have the joyful bit too. Sorry, this is a ramble, I’m shattered!

ekm21 · 10/08/2023 07:58

Yes, todays the first today I’ve felt properly nauseous!

CinderRosie · 10/08/2023 08:44

I wake up feeling shattered and my gag reflex is on overdrive.. but I think this is partially anxiety about feeling sick in the first place especially with then having to come to work. I'm going to start keeping a snack next to the bed as I was awake at 4am again and my stomach was rumbling away but I just focused on going back to sleep!

SummerOak · 10/08/2023 08:57

Hi all! Congratulations on your BFPs! I'd like to join in. My EDD is 15th of April. This would be my first baby. I had a CP in May so I'm trying not to celebrate too early.

LouH93 · 10/08/2023 09:18

@Bugdem123 i keep waling at 4/5 too, I’ve read a lot of people say they wake at that time - really strange!!

In regards to telling your parents early, we told ours 2 days after we found out (at 4 weeks) and i don’t regret it at all! It’s lovely to be able to talk to them and be excited about it and not have to hide it! We also thought the same that we would tell them if something goes wrong, so might as well get some excitement from it now.

LouH93 · 10/08/2023 09:19

@Bugdem123 also Happy Birthday!

LouH93 · 10/08/2023 09:20

That should have said *waking at 4/5am not waling 😂 if only there was an edit button!!

Greenvelvetdress · 10/08/2023 09:35

I had my scan this morning which showed a good strong heartbeat and that I'm 6+4. We've never had a positive scan before 🥺 so was quite emotional.

19EMMA89 · 10/08/2023 09:41

@Greenvelvetdress congrats , that sounds amazing 😊

@LouH93 waling made me laugh way too much 😂😂😂

I'm fine in the mornings , but by 7pm my head is pounding and I feel so nauseous and I just need to sleep and eat ! I've been sleeping from 10pm till 7am , usually I'm a night owl , it's just so different all the changes so soon !

Floralsandsmiles · 10/08/2023 10:08

Hey ladies, I'm worried my test this morning was weaker! Although it was a less sensitive one, so have ran out to get a more sensitive one.i just thought the line would be stronger today!
Worried this could be CP. I have no bleeding though.what signs should I look out for? 😒 xxx

CinderRosie · 10/08/2023 10:18

@Floralsandsmiles try not to panic especially if it was a weaker test! I did an easy @ home last night and it was weaker because I'd drunk so much water and had peed about an hour beforehand anyway. Did you wee in the night at all?

Boymama22 · 10/08/2023 10:21

@Floralsandsmiles try not to panic and comparing different tests brands is definitely not an effective way to track line progression as tests vary in sensitivity!

@Bugdem123 happy birthday 😊

@Greenvelvetdress congratulations, I bet that is a relief!

Nope! 😒 hence me expecting it to be darker. I'm still only 12dpo, so really worried about a CP xxxx

I'm trying to relax but no symptoms really today either. Sorry to bother you all, just panicking a bit 😒 I don't know what to look out for in a CP either xxx

Was the first time you got a bfp yesterday? I tested the morning after my bfp and the line looked just as light. I was really upset, but then tested a few days later and it was much darker. Plus, you mentioned using a less sensitive test so it's likely the line would be lighter until levels rise in a few days.

heybb · 10/08/2023 10:25

Hi everyone.
Hoping I can join in too? Got my bfp yesterday and think my EDD is 19th April but I had a chemical last month so not entirely sure.
Really hoping for a sticky baby this time 💕

Boymama22 · 10/08/2023 10:30

@Floralsandsmiles it's easier said than done with panicking. I had a cp last month and my tests never really got darker. Only lighter. I had symptoms but they quickly went away. My 12dpo test this pregnancy was still super light. What brands of tests are you using?

I actually got my bfp on 10dpo, so this will be the 3rd day. However is a easy at home test and they aren't sensitive. So I've popped out and got some boots early ones. 😊 fingers crossed this will be better xxx

Boymama22 · 10/08/2023 10:33

@Floralsandsmiles easy at home are not sensitive at all! This was my line progression and I think the third one was around 12dpo for me! Only at 5 weeks did I get the test line the same as the control. Don't worry until you get a better brand of test I say

This website really reassured me regarding line progression. Lots of women posted their lines, some of which got lighter on some days, before getting darker. For some, it took several days for any progression. https://community.whattoexpect.com/forums/april-2023-babies/topic/cheapie-line-progression-thread-137664856.html

Sending you my good wishes. The chances are, it's taking a while for hormone levels to rise

Thank you @Boymama22 , this is really helpful!

I got a boots sensitive one and waiting but there is nothing. All my positives have been on clearblue and then the digital with weeks yesterday. Even when I did the digital yesterday, I had a first response that didn't work and came up negative. So I'm wondering if I'm not being picked up on the pink dye ones (even though I have read others say that's the only one they will use?) I think it maybe a CP? To have it come up straight away 2 days ago and now taking ages and bearly there? Xxx

Floralsandsmiles · 10/08/2023 11:06

Bearly there on boots early detection.. 😒 xxx
