Just got my bfp yesterday and EDD is early April 2024. Anyone else similar and feel like keeping each other company?

I'm exactly 6 weeks today. Got my second scan tomorrow so feeling a bit nervous about that and trying not to overthink it. Started to feel very sick in the afternoons and just exhausted as well. Xx

Aww good luck for this! I will book a private at 7 weeks I think xxx

CinderRosie · 09/08/2023 12:56

Nausea tips I've heard of - sniffing lemon or anything else citrus, mint, sucking on sweets, keeping well hydrated, and those acupressure wrist band things for travel sickness are supposed to be good?

Housenoob · 09/08/2023 13:18

I think I forgot that the early stages of pregnancy just feel like a permanent hangover. Caffeine free Coke is helping me at the moment.

LeopardPJS · 09/08/2023 13:36

Hey all - I’m another one who is not a keep user of Facebook so I’m keen for the thread!

Why does early pregnancy feel like it takes FOR EVER?! I’m only 4+5 and I feel like this has been the longest week of my life 😂

I treated myself to a CBdigital test on my birthday on Monday (what has my life become) and was chuffed to get 2-3 weeks, which I never got to with my chemical last month, so found that really reassuring. I’ll probably still go for an early scan though. Are people doing the Harmony test? I did that with first two pregnancies, partly for reassurance and partly as I was desperate to know the gender!!

Feeling very nauseous in the late afternoon and evenings and very tired (like wanting to go to bed at 8pm!!) plus sore boobs that come and go. But nausea this early is normal for me as I had hyperemesis in both pregnancies (hospitalised for the first one) and it started early so for those experiencing no symptoms definitely don’t worry, you might well just be one of the lucky women I am used to watching sail through their pregnancies unscathed while I am there trying not to vomit into a bin 😂

LeopardPJS · 09/08/2023 13:38

Oh my god and the bloating. I swear I already look pregnant!!! It’s going to be a long nine months…

Boymama22 · 09/08/2023 13:49

Hi ladies! Sorry I have not posted in a while on this thread. I caught a disgusting cold and just haven't been able to bounce back from it, which has been a task while chasing my 19 month old lol. Hope everyone is okay and congratulations to all those with bfp's! I'm 6 weeks 2 days today and I don't feel sick at all yet but I was so sick on my son so it has me a tad worried! @Housenoob describing the early stages as like having a hangover is so accurate lol!

Boymama22 · 09/08/2023 13:49

@LeopardPJS the bloating is horrendous lol! I feel it's way worse this time around😭

faban · 09/08/2023 14:02

I'm also super bloated. Doesn't help that I keep rubbing my bloated belly so I look and am acting like I'm 4 months pregnant 😂😂

I've had insane hunger as well. I had a bowl of pasta and then a pizza for dinner. I'm determined not to put loads of weight on this time... but it's not going that well🙈

@LeopardPJS ae lovely you got that reading. I'm so tempted to get another because of the same reason, I didn't get that with my CP last month. I keep flipping cos if it's 1-2 I'm gunna be so worried! You're right tho it's dragging SO much. I feel like I should be about 9 weeks now. Nope 4+4 😂😂

CinderRosie · 09/08/2023 14:17

I'm super bloated as well, I've heard that it starts to go down at the end of the first trimester but then I'll just start getting a proper bump anyway! Expecting to show earlier this time round as I have an 18yo DS from a previous relationship as well as now being 37.

My sense of smell is insane, walked past the fish and chip shop nearly my work, and all I could smell was the raw fish? Have never smelled this before it usually smells delicious.

Noodles4Me · 09/08/2023 14:48

I too am bloated. But I’m also starving and constantly eating so that won’t help. No sickness but I am beyond shattered which I remember from last time.

@LeopardPJS if I get there, I’ll be doing the Harmony. Because I’m old I need something more accurate than the NHS algorithm which will put my risk high just because of age. And I’ll find out the sex too, did last time!

AnonymousRobin · 09/08/2023 15:08

Hi everyone,
I got my BFP yesterday, 2-3 weeks on the clear blue digital, 17 days post ovulation.

I’m new to Mumsnet (struggle with the acronyms a bit 😂) and this is the first time I’ve ever been pregnant, I’m 37 and we’ve been ttc since January. Counting myself lucky so far but just hoping it sticks.

My last period date means I’m due early April, but my ovulation dates mean end of April.

Waiting for my midwife appointment and wondering whether to book in a private early scan for some reassurance. Don’t really know what to do with myself as actually feel shocked no real symptoms yet!

How do I find the Facebook group?xx

LouH93 · 09/08/2023 15:13

I had to finish work early today to sleep! Never felt a tiredness like this before. Im 5+4 today (or 5+3.. depends what app i look at but i like to go with the later one 🤣)

Any tips on how to handle the exhaustion?? Luckily i work from home so can fit a lunch time nap in, although todays turned into a 3 hour nap!

19EMMA89 · 09/08/2023 16:08

Do I count from the apps , date of LMP or would I go from when I ovulated , to consider how many weeks I am ? So confused 😂 or does that just matter for due date ?

Boymama22 · 09/08/2023 16:19

@19EMMA89 go from the day you ovulated! So 14 days past ovulation would make you 4 weeks. So on so fourth. The nhs will go by your LMP I think? But my LMP puts me at 6 weeks and 3 days but based off ovulation I'm actually 6 weeks and 2 days! Hope that helps.

19EMMA89 · 09/08/2023 16:24

@Boymama22 Makes perfect sense , thank you 😊 Way more clear than Google 😂😂😂😂

Wonderful, thank you @CinderRosie !

And have ordered myself the sick of it spritz 😏 it's so weird.the minute I got to 12.30- 1pm, it was gone! Lol but I found sipping water helped as it filled my tummy outside of meals and the nausea wasn't too bad! 😊 xxx

Hi,

I'm only 3+4 and got my faint line yesterday. With two chemicals in the last 6 months, I am completely anxious but hoping to enjoy the pregnancy as much as I can. Anyone here from London? Also is anyone up for whatsup group? I'm happy to set up if you DM me your number. I don't use FB much and find whatsup much easier to keep in touch. I've also made amazing friends over Mumsnet whatsup in my first pregnancy, who is a 2 year old chunky boy 😂

Huge congratulations to everyone here and I hope for sticky April babies!

GinAndBearIt90 · 09/08/2023 16:53

Hi all, I'm joining too! Just got my bfp today and I think I'm 5+1. This will be my third/final baby, I've a 3 year old and a 15 month old - both little boys 🥰 I've hopefully just joined the fb group and happy to join a WhatsApp too, they've been lifelines for my last 2 - pregnancies and beyond!

Hi @Noodles4Me , I have seen the harmony thing mentioned a few times now, what is it? Xxx

The harmony between is a non-invasive blood test you do from 10-13 weeks. It tests the DNA of the foetus so the sex is pretty much 100% (for singletons). It specifically tests for Downs, Edwards and Patau.

Its expensive and only offered on NHS if there are other indicators.

TigOlBitties · 09/08/2023 18:56

Hi All, can I join? I’ve known I was pregnant for a while but it was abit all up in the air at one point after I had a period which wasn’t a period apparently. Had a scan and EPAU because of previous ectopic and I’m 6+2 so due date 1st April for now. This will be baby number 5 for me (pregnancy no8). My older ones are 13,12, 9 and I have a nearly 2 year old. We’re very excited but a little bit overwhelmed, we had no plans for a 5th at all, I had actually enquired about getting my tubes tied 🙈

faban · 09/08/2023 21:18

Congratulations ❤️❤️
