Just got my bfp yesterday and EDD is early April 2024. Anyone else similar and feel like keeping each other company?

I’ve booked an early scan as well for 8 weeks & then got my letter from the hospital through this morning for my first midwife appointment! Also got my first dye stealer this morning so think I’m going to stop with the tests now!

That's great! I'm really tempted to get some more tests just cos I'm feeling quite anxious atm. I think I might. It won't change anything but last month I didn't get past 1-2 weeks and I would love to see an increase. But if I don't get it I'll be freaking out 🙈

It's supposed to be my midwife app today for my last pregnancy so I'm thinking maybe that's why I'm feeling extra anxious?

Ginny26 · 08/08/2023 09:51

@Poppins2016 I'm 6 weeks 1 day and no sore boobs at all, I have other symptoms though and my tests progressed. 3rd baby

Got a BFP on Saturday and don't know what to do with myself since then ... Anyone else ?? 😂
I doesn't feel real at all ...

I've done a test every morning since then , and I'm constantly analysing the darkness in comparison to the previous day , and convincing myself it's getting lighter ... I've ran out of tests now and need to stop .. 😂😂

Every time I need to pee I'm worried I'll see blood , not ideal ...

I almost don't want to book any appointments as I'm worried that it's not real just yet and anything could happen !

Apps are saying 5 weeks pregnant today and fue April 10th , but on Saturday my test only said 1-2 weeks , so no idea really what to even think !

Belles28 · 08/08/2023 10:59

Hi all! Congrats everyone! Jumping on... BFP last Tuesday & EDD 10th Apr, baby no2! Xx

LouH93 · 08/08/2023 11:51

@19EMMA89 totally with you on the checking for blood after every wee!! I feel like ill be doing this for the whole 9 months tbh lol

Caitlin991 · 08/08/2023 15:58

I’ve just been booked in for my first midwife appt this Saturday, I’ll only be 6.5weeks..that seems so early?!

Belles28 · 08/08/2023 15:59

@Caitlin991 is that not just your booking in appointment where they run through your medical history etc? X

Belles28 · 08/08/2023 16:00

@19EMMA89 the CB test goes off conception whereas the apps go off your last period so that would be why there's a difference 😁

Bugdem123 · 08/08/2023 16:02

Hey everyone! I tested positive on Friday and going by my LMP I’ll be 4 weeks tomorrow!

I’ve also been testing every morning and examining the darkness of the lines and the toilet paper after every pee! I didn’t expect to feel as anxious as I do but I’m hoping it settles down soon.

I think my due date is 17 April. Still can’t believe it.

19EMMA89 · 08/08/2023 16:04

Oh I see , thank you , you're so knowledgeable ! I feel a bit lost and confused , and hungry and tired 😂😂😂😂😂

Hi Ladies, this might be a very niche question but I wonder if anyone who has experienced miscarriage may be able to help. I have a recurrent miscarriage appointment with a consultant this week. This was arranged before I became pregnant. I've decided to use it to ask any questions I have about how to keep hold of this baby (I lost my 3rd angel baby at 16+3 weeks earlier this year). Does anyone have any ideas of what I could ask about? I want to make the most of the opportunity. Thank you in advance xx

Greenvelvetdress · 08/08/2023 16:31

@Butterfliesandroses so sorry to hear of your losses, I've also had three miscarriages. It's tricky to know what to ask as before my appointment I had a lot of blood tests done which highlighted a couple of things that needed doing during pregnancy. You're not able to have these tests done during pregnancy I don't believe so I'm not really sure how much help they can give you. Sending you lots of thoughts though and 🤞🏼 it's both our times.

Butterfliesandroses · 08/08/2023 16:47

@Greenvelvetdress thank you so much for getting back to me. I am sorry to hear of your losses, too. Its a club noone really wants to be a member of isn't it.

I was "fortunate" in that the recurrent miscarriage consultant was on call the weekend I lost our baby earlier this year and she came in especially and arranged all of the tests for us. Therefore, this was originally a follow up meeting to discuss the findings. However, I was impatient and paid to see her privately in June, so I already know the results (nothing specific found). But I kept this NHS appointment under her advice so I am hoping to pick her brains on what I can do to keep this baby safe and sticky.

I was thinking of asking about whether HCG bloods or extra scans would be beneficial, for example (even if I have to pay privately). I was wondering if there is anything else I could ask for (a magic wand , maybe...) x

Ah, you might be right. Last time I had that via telephone so I just assumed it would be the same this time around.

CinderRosie · 08/08/2023 18:40

Very tentatively joining this thread as I’m only 11DPO today and had a faint BFP at 9DPO and an even stronger one today! Saving my digi for later in the week. Due date is 21st April. Current symptoms are sore boobs and fatigue, also AF type cramps which are stressing me out. Won’t really feel real til I get beyond my period due date which is Saturday.

Gr1ff · 08/08/2023 19:10

@Butterfliesandroses sorry to hear you're in the recurrent miscarriage club as well, it's a horrible place to be :-(

I'm not an expert but I think progesterone and aspirin are 2 of the most common things they can offer. I'm not sure if they would do any testing once you're actually pregnant but worth asking! But from my experience you would be nearly halfway through your pregnancy before you actually get any answers.

We actually had genetic testing done as I'd had 4 miscarriages and it turns out my husband has a condition which mean any pregnancy only has a 50/50 success rate. There isn't anything they can do but I feel much better knowing where I stand!

Hope you get some reassurance even if you don't get answers x

Butterfliesandroses · 08/08/2023 19:22

Hi @Gr1ff . Thank you so much for getting back to me! Can I ask if the genetic testing was offered on the NHS or privately? If NHS, was your eligibility because of 4 miscarriages? Of course I am willing the best for this pregnancy but I am also planning for the worst and if we get to 4 it would be good to know what options to look into next. Thank you again x

Gr1ff · 08/08/2023 19:37

@Butterfliesandroses I'm not 100% sure what the criteria for different testing is if I'm honest. Ours was through the NHS; in our first review appointment nothing from my scan or blood tests showed anything which might have been a concern. The nurse we were with spoke to the consultant to see if we could have the genetic blood test while we were there and she agreed so it might have just been a case of the top dog saying yes rather than there being a set criteria. I would assume it changes from Trust to Trust as well (I'm with Oxford) but definitely worth asking if it ever comes to it, but keeping fingers crossed for you that it doesn't x

Iqz · 08/08/2023 19:41

Hi guys,

so I had to two blood tests taken 48 hours apart, as baby was not seen on internal scan obviously way way too small, but midwife still wanted to know what’s going on with baby, my first test blood hormone level was 300 then went to 900 on second blood test, midwife says according to this baby is fine and is where it’s supposed to be, so she booked me in next two weeks as she should expect baby to be seen by then….

my future baby is thinking give me a break I was only conceived 2 or 3 weeks ago, like stop looking for me😂

oh and the headaches really bad, all what I have at This stage, yep and the checking of the tissue paper, but I will stop that now that I’m convinced period is not coming!!!

Butterfliesandroses · 08/08/2023 19:52

@Gr1ff thank you so much, I will definitely add this as a question on my list. I've had all sorts of testing with nothing found but my husband has had nothing so this would be really useful to know. Thank you again. Wishing for healthy April babies for us both xx

Floralsandsmiles · 08/08/2023 20:55

Hi all! Can I join please? I got my first BFP today at 10dpo! This will be my 2nd DC but my first is 13 years old. So am way out of my league now! Lol
I'm both a mixture of excited and terrified!
This is the first cycle using norethisterone prescribed by the gynae due to spotting before AF. So I thought all symptoms were just the progesterone. I also had the most vivid dreams the last few mornings! It's nuts!
My question is - now I have my BFP, should I stop taking the norethisterone? I'm supposed to complete to day 10 (when af is due). However now I'm (hopefully) pregnant, the pack says not to take?

I'm also not on Facebook, so if this group continues (which I hope it does), I look forward to getting to know you all better!

Dd is calculated as 21st April 23, I think... when do I register with midwife and how? Last time I was pregnant, I just rung the GP who referred me... lol xxx

Bertiebean · 08/08/2023 22:15

Has anyone else had a bit of spotting? I’m trying to keep calm but it is niggling away at me!

LouH93 · 08/08/2023 23:07

@Floralsandsmiles congratulations!!

I called my GP who sent me on to my local hospital/maternity team to register with them. First time pregnancy here so i just called them and was like ‘what do i do now’ lol.
