Just got my bfp yesterday and EDD is early April 2024. Anyone else similar and feel like keeping each other company?

@LeopardPJS I'm terrible, I haven't even started taking anything yet. Going to the chemist after work to get Folic acid or the all in 1 pregnancy ones. I don't even know 🙄 Just recieved my first midwife appointment for 29th August though, so excited

LeopardPJS · 04/08/2023 09:23

@Housenoob on the constipation - it’s taken me four pregnancies to work out that Pregnacare supplements do this to me! Just in case that might be the culprit. Taking them with a big meal late in the day definitely helps and drinking lots of water but I had a friend who told me that there are other brands who are better for not blocking you up so much!

Oh interesting, as I'm taking pregnacare max 😂 although I do tend to be prone to constipation generally even when not pregnant. Once I've finished the pack I'll try another brand.

Can I ask what everyone does with regards to caffeine during pregnancy? In my first pregnancy I allowed myself one caffeinated coffee a day (although I went off coffee for most of the first trimester) as the NHS guidelines were to have less than 200mg a day. But I just checked the Tommy's caffeine calculator thing and they've changed their guidance a little- the limit is still the same but they now say to abstain as much as possible 😐

Baby3please · 04/08/2023 11:57

Hey! I got my BFP at 8dpo and I'm due around the 11th of April. So 4+1 today. Had my first midwife appointment today and I'm getting bloods done tomorrow morning. I never got sent for bloods this early in pregnancy before so this is new to me, and hopefully reassuring! I have a 3 year old and an almost 2 year old. ❤️

I told DH yesterday, after keeping it secret for a whole week! I was really nervous as our first pregnancy was a MC at 5 weeks, so I wanted to wait until I felt confident the tests were looking good. I also told him straight away with the first 3 pregnancies so I wanted to do something special this time. Got a 2-3 on the digital yesterday so that gave me the confidence to tell him. ❤️

Anyone due April 2024?
LouH93 · 04/08/2023 12:21

@Housenoob i m trying to cut it out completely just to be safe! I usually have a coffee every morning and im definitely missing that already. Also got myself some caffeine free cokes as i cant give coke up lol

ASGIRC · 04/08/2023 12:25

@Housenoob I dont drink coffee, but Im drinking coke as before.
And i tried the calculator and it was all "congrats!!! youre under the limit!!!"

stay under the 200mg and youll be fine. Unless you really want to cut it out, which is completely up to you.

LeopardPJS · 04/08/2023 12:44

@Housenoob i was relaxed about caffeine in both my pregnancies after reading expecting better by emily oster where she debunks a lot of the research around it, but I drink mostly tea anyway which is much less than coffee. Past the first twelve weeks though I was relaxed about coffee. If you’re switching to decaf I would make sure it’s organic as the chemicals used in the decaf donation process are worse than having caffeine in my opinion!

hi Everyone, my EDD is 5th of April as well so would love to join if that's ok x
It's my very first pregnancy - we were sort of trying (or I should say not preventing it from happening) since September last year but we just got engaged and I was planning to go back on the pill from this cycle and start trying after the wedding 😂We are really happy but at the same time I'm absolutely PETRIFIED.

I'm currently meant to be 5 weeks on the dot. I had my first hcg blood test done last Friday which came back at 40 but today's came back at 1319 which is quite reassuring. I also had my first scan today but they couldn't see anything other than MAYBE a gestational sac starting so I'm slightly worried as I think usually you should see the gestational sac clearly at this point? Am I just worrying too much? I need to find some ways to deal with my anxiety as otherwise this is going to be a really long 9 months!

LouH93 · 04/08/2023 13:56

@olgee93 congratulations!!

We just got engaged too at the start of July and weren’t expecting it to happen this cycle. Wedding plans are now on hold as cant afford a wedding whilst being on mat leave! Seems to all have happened at once!!

How come you have already have bloods etc? Just wondering if thats something i should be doing before my first midwife apt at the end of August?

Bertiebean · 04/08/2023 14:46

@Bluesky85 @LeopardPJS thank you I know it seems irrational I was just really banking on seeing that 3+ and was shocked when it didn’t come up. I will try and get another blood test next week and see what they can do!

@Greenvelvetdress I paid privately with a fertility clinic and suspect that’s what everyone else does as I can’t even see a midwife until 9-10 weeks even with high risk and multiple miscarriages - gp won’t see me either!

@LouH93 what a kind friend you are to be so considerate. I wish everyone thought about others as much as you are!

olgee93 · 04/08/2023 15:03

@LouH93 thank you, and congratulations to you too! :)

No, I think usually these are taken at a bit later stage, however because I had some pains and my tests weren't really getting any darker I panicked and the doctors agreed to see me...

faban · 04/08/2023 15:14

I'm struggling to keep up too we should get a FB group going soon 🥰

Interesting about the caffeine! I always tried to have less than 200mg with my first but if they're now saying to abstain I think I'll struggle! I need a coffee to 💩 😂

@LeopardPJS sorry to hear about your chemical last month too. I'm a day later than you atm, 13th April. I'm really picky on months and I absolutely love the month April so I'm really happy! My daughter was due in dec but she came at the end of Nov in an EMCS. I love her birthday but irl be lovely having a spring baby!!

I'm having so many more symptoms this month than last and I'm only 4 weeks today. I'm shattered, my boobs are killing and the thought of fish is making me feel really sick- I usually love seafood but couldn't eat it at all during my last pregnancy!

BVIre · 04/08/2023 16:11

I think I’m 4+5 today but just wondering if anyone else not really having any symptoms yet- trying not to freak out but honestly if I hadn’t taken the test yet there wouldn’t be anything to indicate I’m pregnant! The only thing is a very light cramping that kind of feels more like a muscle stitch & I have been a bit head achey today but I would be prone to headaches!

trying not to freak out but if anyone else has gone through this before please reassure me that it’s okay not to have symptoms at this point🙈🙈

Same really, I'm 5 weeks today and other than a bit of constipation which I'm already prone to, and the odd period like cramp I don't have any symptoms. But my first pregnancy was also like this until about 6-7 weeks from what I remember.

I've stopped taking pregnancy tests as I don't find it helps with anything tbh, just trying to keep busy and not worry, easier said than done I know! Still toying with the idea of getting an early private scan around 8 weeks just for reassurance.

Con2018 · 04/08/2023 16:46

@faban definitely agree with the facebook group I cant keep up at all !

I'm 5+5 now and waiting on a clearblue weeks in the post hopefully finally get the 3+

Leo2609 · 04/08/2023 16:46

On a lighter, more amusing note, I found it funny that our cat who has an emergency litter tray indoors if he gets caught short (which is very rare! He prefers to go outside) has decided that since I have delegated the task of emptying any delightful parcels from the tray to my lovely husband…he’s going to do loads in there 🤣🤣🤣💩💩💩

gotta find something to smile about amongst the nausea and bloating 😂

LeopardPJS · 04/08/2023 18:04

@BVIre i definitely wouldn’t worry about lack of symptoms, I know tons of women who had almost no symptoms especially at this stage and had very healthy babies! The cramping / sort of stretching feeling inside is definitely a thing though, and with my second girl I had terrible headaches in the first trimester too so that could well be a sign! (They cleared up after 11 weeks though!) I’m only four weeks today but am feeling quite nauseous and getting the familiar fish aversion like you @faban - I already only want to eat plain bread and macaroni cheese 😂 oh dear !

wiedehopf · 04/08/2023 18:12

Hi! I’m 4+3 & starting to believe it 😂 I was wondering how you all know when cramping is fine and when it isn’t? I keep getting cramps at night when lying on the side, which go away when I lie on my back. Does anyone else get this?

Macccc · 04/08/2023 18:23

I’ve been having some bleeding this afternoon, pink in colour and fairly light. Now starting to get mild cramps. Thinking the worst but I guess it’s just a waiting game to see if it gets worse or not. I got my positive test on Tuesday so seems a little late to be implantation bleeding.

Sending lots of love. I hope everything goes well.
I'm in a similar boat. Started Tuesday evening through to Wed morning. Nothing yesterday and then this afternoon I've had pink again when wiping. Just feeling so down today, I'm really struggling with it all.
My GP said they could refer me to EPU from 6 weeks and according to the date of my last period I'm 6 weeks on Mon but I know I ovulated later so I'm a few days behind. I'm thinking I might just ring my GP again on Monday anyway and see if they will refer me. x

Macccc · 04/08/2023 19:52

@BB2023 aw sending love to you too! Have you had any cramping? Keeping everything crossed for you! Yeah I’m also feeling very down and deflated. I’d definitely still try and get referred to EPU, even if it’s too early for them to scan you you could ask about getting a beta hcg. I’m somewhere between 4-4.5 weeks so I know they can’t do anything this early and highly doubt they’d agree to doing my bloods at this stage. I just want to know either way, hate being left in limbo. I’m trying to not keep testing because I know that’s just going to drive me crazy trying to see if the lines getting fainter or not but the urge is real!

BB2023 · 04/08/2023 20:18

@Macccc Thank you. No cramping as such, I have a dull ache but I wouldn't call it crampy really. Just feels like it's obvious what is going to happen and I'm just waiting now for it to fully start so I know and we can stsrt to move on and stop wondering. x

faban · 04/08/2023 21:19

@LeopardPJS I'm 4 weeks today too! How funny are due dates aren't the same!? You're due 12th April aren't you? Nice to have a date twin anyway!

@Macccc @BB2023 sorry about the bleeding, it could be harmless but it is worrying isn't it. I had a chemical last month and I had light bleeding in the morning and by the afternoon I had fully come on my period so it was very quick. I also got a not pregnant on a CB a few days after my positive and my lines weren't ever dark.
Really hope it's just normal bleeding and everything's okay xxx

faban · 04/08/2023 21:19

And I had full on cramps x

faban · 04/08/2023 21:34

@LeopardPJS ah so app I'm 3 weeks and 6 days. Not 4 weeks. That makes sense 😂

the first few weeks go by SO slowly

LeopardPJS · 04/08/2023 22:55

@faban I don’t really know whether it’s 12th or 13th tbh, can you tell exactly when you ovulated?! I got my LH peak solid smiley face thing at 2pm on Friday 21st July but I don’t know if that means I ovulated on the friday or the Saturday? Who knows. Either way I agree April is a really lovely month, I’m so pleased (I was picky too!) my first DD is august and second is Feb so the birthdays are nice and spread out as well 😅 and I’m excited for a spring baby as I’ve never had one!
