I think at 16 weeks the 'girls' can sometimes still have time to rise into boys... but that's just what I've heard from nub groups 😂 I'm actually having a scan at 16 weeks for reassurance but then another at 19 ish with my fam so hoping that they'll be the same and we can confirm! As they don't tell you at the 20 week scan here!

FirstT1meMum · 26/07/2023 11:47

Hope everyone's scans go well today! ❤️

Had my 16 week midwife appointment today and we were able to listen to the heartbeat 💓 definitely another appointment with lots of information!

Kalodin · 26/07/2023 12:16

Do we get all dental care covered whilst we are pregnant? I need a crown done and my 2 wisdom teeth out. I've been putting them off for months because I'm absolutely terrified but I'm in quite a bit of pain now.... and just realised that now I'm pregnant, it might be free? Not that helps with the fear.

Any tips on facing dentist fears?

Bims2019 · 26/07/2023 12:17

Congratulations on all the scans, so lovely to see the results! I can't believe we're all getting around the 16/17 week point, feels like time is flying along and soon we'll be half way.

Is anyone else's skin bad? Mine was doing quite well and I was feeling pretty smug about it, but this week it's like hellooo spots! 😂

FirstT1meMum · 26/07/2023 13:03

@Kalodin yes we get free dentistry while pregnant and until baby is 1, this only applies to NHS dentists so as long as your registered with them you'll get all treatment work free! If not, try and get registered ASAP as I know our area has huge waiting lists! I'm also terrified of the dentist and don't really have any tips sorry!! I just have to do a lot of breathing and luckily my dentist have TVs above so I try and take my mind off with that!

@Bims2019 oh my life yes the spots!! My skin was so clear until these last few days, I've got one on the side of my nose and it doesn't half wreck! I thought it was potentially the fact I've just finished work for the summer but if I can blame the pregnancy then I will 🤣

lilluce95 · 26/07/2023 13:08

Ahhh loving all the scans and gender reveals! Good luck to those having them today 🩵🩷

I'm only 13+6 at the moment so I feel like I'm way behind 😂 I've got my 16 week appointment next week too so I'm definitely going to ask if I can hear the heartbeat for some reassurance 🥰 and my private gender scan is on the 12th so lots to look forward to!

Mummyme87 · 26/07/2023 13:11

@Kalodin you need an exemption form which you can usually get from GP or midwife. And applies to nhs dentists.
I don’t have an NHS dentist, lost their bloody nhs contract. All going down hill 😖

Bims2019 · 26/07/2023 13:17

@FirstT1meMum I'm definitely blaming pregnancy, it's a good excuse 🤣 must be the hormones because like you my skin has been really clear so far! Only a bit dry maybe 🤷🏼‍♀️

Dannic2018 · 26/07/2023 13:44

Oh Lordy I hope they aren’t wrong as we are over the moon it’s a girl 🤣 not that I’d not be if it was a boy but you know when you then call the baby a she and we know the name. I did put the potty shot on the the Nub theory groups and they said girl but I will check at 20 weeks now!
Had my 16 week appointment today and as much as they don’t listen to the heartbeat here until after 24 weeks the midwife was lovely and listened it for me, I have a anterior placenta so was a little tricky but we got there and it was so lush to hear ❤️

Due January Part 5 🎉
Kalodin · 26/07/2023 14:00

Thank you, I think that's the thing they emailed me after my booking appointment isn't it @Mummyme87 ? And covers all NHS work? I won't have to pay a contribution?

I'm lucky that we registered with dentist when we first moved to this town 8 years ago!

Kalodin · 26/07/2023 14:02

Haha don't worry I'm feeling far behind too as I'm only at 13wks as well @lilluce95

NatiNatasha · 26/07/2023 14:59

I wish have a registration for the dentist. I'm pregnant 16 weeks and i don't know how i can do.

Some links or website, please.

Thank you very much 😃

FirstT1meMum · 26/07/2023 15:24

@Bims2019 anything I can get away with saying is pregnancy I am! A bit bloated? It's definitely baby not chub! Feeling like being lazy? Definitely baby! 🤣

@Dannic2018 congratulations! 😍🩷

Hummusanddipdip · 26/07/2023 15:26

@NatiNatasha if you haven't got an NHS dentist, (I know none within a 40 mile radius of where I live are taking patients atm.) try the emergency dentist, they're generally located in town centres for example I just googled emergency NHS dentist near me and this was my first link

I actually haven't had my exemption certificate yet... my midwife said she'd email it to me after my booking in apt and I haven't had it yet 🤷‍♀️ my next dentist appointment is October, so no huge rush yet for me...

buckingmad · 26/07/2023 15:26

I lost my NHS spot with the dentist years ago as we move with DH every few years (army). But must admit I don’t know if I’d go back now, I’m on denplan and it’s so good. Service is loads better.

Mummyme87 · 26/07/2023 15:43

I had denplan for years but found I was spending more doing that. Nhs was fine, my dentist works in nhs at the dental hospital but can’t at his practice as lost their contract during Covid. Soent about £800 in autumn on me and the boys.

NatiNatasha · 26/07/2023 15:49

Oh thanks to send me the link. I had had the exemption certificate in my email. I'm going to find out something in Google. 😉

suz2285 · 26/07/2023 15:54

@Dannic2018 that definitely looks like a girl! Congrats 💖

Mummyme87 · 26/07/2023 16:35

Congratulations @Dannic2018 you have children already don’t you?

sashastuck · 26/07/2023 16:44

@Dannic2018 congratulations on your baby girl!💕

lilluce95 · 26/07/2023 17:17

@Dannic2018 congratulations!! 🥰🩷

@Kalodin oh that's reassuring someone is similar 🥰 I hate to wish time away but I just want to be more pregnant haha!

Dannic2018 · 26/07/2023 17:27

@Mummyme87 yes I have a nearly 18 year old girl, 15 year old son and a 2.5 son 🤣🤣 so it’s nice and even now. My daughter won’t be happy as she likes being the only princess 🙄🤣
Thank you very much all, we both cried when we did the cannon as it’s our last and I’m getting on a bit so all our wishes came true!

Yes as long as your registered with an NHS dentist.
Mine tried to kick me out for not going during covid, even though they sent a text saying due to back logs they weren't booking check ups. I had to complain multiple times to the manager to get them to put me back on, luckily they did. I saw the dentist recently and had a dental hygienist appointment today all for free.

lilluce95 · 26/07/2023 18:16

I have a random Q - how bad is it to wear tight clothes? For example I squeezed into a pair of jeans today for a day in the office and they've got increasingly uncomfortable throughout the day 😂 there's no negative effects because of this is there? Certainly won't be doing it again though!

PartRadish · 26/07/2023 18:39

@lilluce95 I wouldn't worry. Baby is pretty well cushioned and still fairly low down in the pelvis too so I really think the only negative effect would be how uncomfortable it was for you!
