I have a feeling that mine is a girl but we aren’t finding out until the birth. So I’ll know in March! I’m weirdly desperate to know but excited about the surprise at the same time.

Kez437 · 07/09/2023 11:03

Hi all, finally got our scan yesterday. I was, by official dates, 12+3 but based on baby’s measurements they have me at 13+2. The midwife was so lovely and asked me if I agreed and if I wanted to move the date and I told her I always felt further along and t by at would make sense with conception dates. It was just lovely to feel listened to, I haven’t always had that in previous pregnancies. Anyway here is a picture of our littlest one, now due on 11th March. Think we will find out gender later on but interested to hear all your guesses!

@Kez437 So pleased for you! And how lovely of the sonographer / midwife. I knew my exact date of conception and told them that but they didn't ask whether or not I agreed to move my dates 🤣 do you have any other pics? Hard to tell from this 🩵🩷

LeopardLover · 07/09/2023 11:14

@Ellet37 Congratulations! Skull looks boyish too 🥰 (even though this theory is apparently flawed 😅)

Kez437 · 07/09/2023 11:41

Thanks @LeopardLover and @Ellet37. I had a family member really steal my thunder yesterday when we announced so feeling a bit sensitive and trying to get back to excited after being so hurt and annoyed (which isn’t the feelings I was going for yesterday!) Here are the other 2 I have, 1 of the head. They aren’t that clear!

@Kez437 Oh no! What happened? 😔 Sorry to hear that, I hope you can get that excitement back soon!! 💜 So I can't see a nub (not that I 100% know what I'm looking for 😂) and baby is head down BUT if I had to guess is say that skull is quite round so maybe a girl 🥰x

Hopefulhoney6 · 07/09/2023 17:28

Congrats on the scans everyone!! I’m 15+1 and a bit nervous on and off at the moment as I’m not showing yet! Know that’s totally normal for a first baby, but 5 weeks feels a while until my 20 week scan. I have four scans before my 12 week one but trying to hold off in this trimester as I know there is a period of not feeling or seeing much!
Anyone else?!

krissy12 · 07/09/2023 18:00

I had my scan today all looking good brought my date forward by 5 days! not the clearest picture so not sure if can do the nub theory. with my ds I felt at my 12 week scan he was a boy but no idea this time

Hi all, does anyone mind if I join? I'm 14 weeks today. I've had 2 previous losses and prior to that was ttc for almost 13 years so to get to this point is amazing. I was 40 this year and my mum passed in April so this literally feels like my miracle baby 🥰. I've been diagnosed with gestational diabetes and put on insulin which is a struggle, especially in this heat when all I want is ice cold (full sugar) coke and Mr Whippys, lol. Also is anyone else really struggling in this heat?

LeopardLover · 07/09/2023 18:21

@Hopefulhoney6 I definitely wasn't showing at 15 weeks last time! I wish I was in that situation now, I'm HUGE and self-conscious 😅 yes, worth holding out unless you go for an early gender scan 😉

@krissy12 Congratulations! I'm not sure I can see a nub. What do you think @Fp12 ?🤔

@Godsplan21 Welcome! So sorry for your losses, sounds like the timing of this pregnancy is just perfect 🥰 full fat coke is the only thing that stops my nausea! The Dr found a bit of glucose in my wee earlier this week so I've gone cold turkey. Having a retest 😅x

krissy12 · 07/09/2023 18:30

@LeopardLover I know I'm not good with the nub theory anyway but I don't think it's clear enough baby wouldn't stay still kept bouncing about and putting hands over their face

Godsplan21 · 07/09/2023 18:48

@LeopardLover Thank you! I feel like the timings right this time. Hopefully it was left over coke in your system, lol. GD is no fun.

krissy12 · 08/09/2023 04:03

@Puddle13 we aren't finding out until birth either feel like it'll be a long wait but managed last time

HKS90 · 08/09/2023 07:14

Thanks everyone for the aspirin reassurance! I’ve got over my paranoia and I’m just getting on with taking them 😂 mad how much pregnancy makes you over think everything isn’t it! @Hopefulhoney6 I’m 15+0 and not really showing, I just look a like I’ve had a big dinner, but not so much that anybody has noticed without me telling them. Baby was very active at my 12 week scan and I’m still having symptoms so I don’t think it’s anything to worry about ☺️

LeopardLover · 08/09/2023 08:47

@krissy12 In my experience, that baby is giving boy vibes then 🤣💜

@Godsplan21 Thank you! I hope so 😂 I'm going to call back today to get my results. I did a little bit if Mumsnet research and most women said they ate cheese on everything. Cheese and meat 🤔 I'm a veggie too! 😅

Godsplan21 · 08/09/2023 09:40

@LeopardLover yep thats true, I never thought I would say it but im SICK of cheese Lol. I eat everything and am not fussy but I'm struggling a bit. It just takes planning and I've very much been a grab what you can person. Theres an amazing GD group in FB though that has been invaluable! So much better than the midwives advise. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you x

BBno4 · 08/09/2023 12:34

12 weeks today!
Still doesn't feel real. I'm not going to tell my mum until the scan next week but I feel like a snake. I dont know why I feel so nervous about telling her this will be my 4th!

OhmygoshREALLY · 08/09/2023 13:15

@BBno4 i feel exactly the same! 12 weeks on Sunday, also 12 week scan next week, also not telling my mum til after and also feeling really mean about it! My fourth too but first with my now DP so I don’t know if that’s making the difference, can’t remember how I felt about telling her with the other 3. It’s weird though!

Aquarius93 · 08/09/2023 13:56

Had my scan this morning and have a slightly earlier due date of 18th March so I’m 12+4. Baby all looks healthy!

@LeopardLover @krissy12 just letting you know how the consultant appointment was. It only took around 10 minutes - she just asked how the recovery was from my previous tear. I said I recovered well and have no lasting issues and I’d have a preference for a vaginal birth again. She said she would fully support this and booked me in for a growth scan at 37 weeks just to make sure baby isn’t exceptionally big or anything. My daughter was 9lb 8oz but that wasn’t a surprise as my husband and I are both tall.

She also explained they wouldn’t necessarily do anything different for the birth (they don’t do an episiotomy to avoid another tear or anything as this is not shown to reduce the chance of tearing). They would just ensure an experienced midwife was in the room for the birth and they’d use a warm compress.

Loving all the scan photos xx
My legs are really aching is anyone else having this? I know the heat isnt helping but they just ache xx

vix_85 · 08/09/2023 16:41

@Ruthsoph I keep getting restless legs each evening

Godsplan21 · 08/09/2023 16:45

@vix_85 Me too with the restless legs! Its a very annoying/strange feeling. Like you want to be constantly moving them but also not because it 11pm 🤣

krissy12 · 08/09/2023 18:03

@Aquarius93 that's great thank you so much for letting me know

Crazytoddlermum · 09/09/2023 07:51

So lovely to see everyone’s scan pictures!

I have been quiet on here anxiously waiting for my 12 week scan. Had the scan yesterday and everything is looking good ❤️

I am now freaking out a bit though as I have had some bleeding since last night. We DTD last night and after I had some pink lightish bleeding, then this morning I have woke up to quite a bit of brown bleeding. It seems to have calmed down now but I am totally freaked out. I never had anything like this in my first pregnancy so not sure whether this is just something that happens or if I should be worried and call the hospital 😫

Compression socks are your friend! They're not very attractive and not so great in this heat! But are good for reducing the achey legs in pregnancy and meant to help prevent spider/varicose veins too.
