I had a MMC at 11w last year and I had seen a heartbeat beforehand, a month earlier at 7w, though I had been bleeding lightly the entire month even while on progesterone and lost symptoms too.

Hi ladies just an up date on my 12 week scan this morning thankfully everything is looking perfect and our little bub is measuring 4 days ahead of the private scans so I’m 12+5 and a new due date of 5th February xx

So nice to see everyone's scans. My anxiety is through the roof today. My scan is not for another two weeks but my symptoms have pretty much disappeared. Saw a heartbeat at 8 weeks but still really worried. Midwife said it's normal for symptoms to reduce or disappear around this time but it doesn't stop me worrying.

I'm tempted to see if I can get a private scan next week but would probably need to go on my own which isn't ideal.

Also how much water did you have to drink? My letter says 2 pints 1 hr before. When I had a private abdominal at 8 weeks the sonographer commented on my full bladder and that was with the recommended 1 pint 40 mins before. Can't see how I'd manage 2 pints as I was desperate enough as it was! Will 1 pint be okay or does the NHS have different equipment?

@Un7breakable Mine doesn’t require a full bladder at all, so probably wouldn’t worry too much. Maybe just have a drink if that’s what they’ve recommended, but shows it’s not essential.

@Un7breakable for my private scans at 8 an 10 weeks I made sure to drink at least 2 500ml bottles of water but this time round with it being an early scan I was unable to drink as much I managed one bottle and a bit I was worried i didn’t drink enough an wouldn’t get clear pictures but it was fine x

@Un7breakable I drank too much and she said I could go to the toilet. 1 pint tends to be enough

@Mangotango39 and @sherbertlemon17 yes to the exhaustion!! I generally work from 2:30/3 - 11pm, I struggle to leave the sofa to get to work and usually hit a real low around 4/5pm where I’m desperate for a nap but can’t get it! It’s killing me!! 😩😩
I’m normally a very busy and active person too, I feel soooo guilty if I sit around doing nothing but it’s all I want to do right now.
Worst bit is that there’s nowhere comfortable to chill at work!! 😐

Well after feeling a bit anxious I booked a last minute private scan today. I'm so relieved, measuring 12 weeks, and a nuchal of 0.8, so for now feeling okayish til my 12 week scan

Lovely to see all the scans, things are getting real now!

I'm getting anxious now, I still haven't gotten a date for my hospital scan. My referral wasn't sent in by my GP 5 weeks ago so they only sent it last Wednesday. And the hospital haven't recieved it even though it was sent electronically. So I have no idea what's going on with it. Going to have to chase it again on Monday.

Pleased all is well @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 - nice to get some reassurance.

@CrazyRosa - hope your appointment comes through soon. Fingers crossed that, once the hospital gets the referral, it will all move quite quickly.

Does anyone else feel like this is the hardest season to keep things a secret? For example, got a wedding next weekend and obviously not going to take the limelight by announcing our news during their wedding week/on the day…but I’m also so bloated that I don’t think I can hide things anymore! Got a friend’s hen do the weekend after 😬 Feel like everyone we know is gonna know the news before we even say anything 😂

@User0224 this is deff a tough season to be trying to hide it. I’ve had 3 weddings, 2 hens and a holiday with extended family in this pregnancy so far. It’s felt so hard to hide being so sick and a growing bump🫣 how far along will u be for the wedding next weekend?

Oh wow that’s a very intense first trimester! Has anyone cottoned on so far? I’ll only be 10.5 weeks! But just look so bloody massive 😂

@User0224 in fairness I was 4 and 5 weeks for the hen parties but trying to hide not drinking was the hardest thing at those. One wedding was abroad at 6 weeks, that was the family& friends holiday too, I think most ppl suspected at that (because I wasn’t drinking) but no1 said anything. I’d a wedding last week where I just told my cousin & aunt I was sat with so that made it much easier.

i was pregnant jan-April and didn’t have one event or thing on, it was deff an easier season/time of the year to hide things.

will u say to anyone, even one or 2 friends ull be sat with can make it a lot easier

Same, in my last pregnancy I had barely any plans and was out of the country for the first trimester so it was glorious! Aah I don’t know, think I’ll have to see how I feel on the day. Sounds silly but I’m so much more anxious in this pregnancy, not sure I’d be comfortable sharing until I’m past 12 weeks! Even though it’s a trivial difference days wise x

@User0224 yeah see how u feel, u could say it in confidence to a close friend if u felt comfortable but I completely get u, it’s just the reassurance of being over that milestone and knowing all is ok❤️

im away on a little staycation for the next 2 nights so I’m hoping it’ll be a good distraction until the scan Tuesday morning🤞🏽

@User0224 and @DmcinT wow that's a lot of plans! Sounds very tough. Do you like the Nosecco type stuff? I drank that at a couple of hens with a couple of other pregnant attendees and I think people really don't notice because it looks like champagne. Just hid it in the fridge, and have one other person who knew and would pour me that.

I had the scan yesterday purely because we have a few big things over the next week or two - a couple of family parties and a trip away, a night out with friends, a dinner party etc. I can just say now to a few people at these things that I'm pregnant. I hate the whole having to lie about why I'm tired and rubbish and have been nursing the same drink all night.

I also hate announcing pregnancy, it feels so awkward! Does anyone else feel like that? I'd rather just message people one at a time 😅

Hey all! Had a private scan this morning, all good! I am measuring 9+5 (expected to be 10+1 based on the last private scan I had where they put me at 6+6 when I thought I was 6+4). 9+5ish is exactly where I should be based on ovulation but me being a worrier, I am overthinking being a few days behind from the scan 3+2 days ago!! Why do we do this to ourselves? With my lg, I always measured exactly what I expected to be so date never changed! Roll on the NHS scan on the 16th August!

Anyone else come back with group B strep in their urine from their booking appt? Think I’ll be having some antibiotics now and then IV antibiotics during labour. Just wondering if anyone else has this?
