I've been sleeping at night with lots of getting up to wee and then I get up for a couple of of hours and have breakfast but then end up falling asleep again for another couple of hours. I think waking to pee is making me so drained that I need to make up for it. I am using progesterone at night and I feel like it's gonna be less effectively absorbed if I keep going to the bathroom but I can't exactly hold it either.

Ah @User0224 that’s tough going on a full on day, are ur days usually so full on or can u chill tomorrow? Great news on the number 2 though😂😂 makes such a difference.

anyone else in Aug 1st for their 12 week scan (I’ll only be 11 +4 or 5 so hopefully they can see everything they need) what are all the things they look for on this first one does anyone know?

It was soooo embarrassing 😂 aah my job is quite full on yeah, just endless meetings and deadlines I def wouldn’t get away with not doing stuff. But gonna book as much holiday as I can for the next few months! What about you, are your days quite hectic or chilled atm? X

MrsC2711 · 27/07/2023 20:16

All you ladies wiggling the mouse…… have you seen that in calendar you can ‘meet now’ and start a meeting with yourself. This means anyone looking can see you’re in a call or meeting and your laptop or teams won’t go inactive because you’re in a meeting too…. I’ve never done this, honest 😜

KittyKat1989 · 27/07/2023 20:17

Hello everybody. I read here every day and now feel ready to join in properly! I had a re-scan today as they couldn’t get everything needed last week. I’m 13 weeks so due on 1 February. I have to go back tomorrow for blood tests as they couldn’t get anything out today (despite trying both arms and both hands). I’m still completely exhausted and napping at every opportunity. I do hope that improves soon!

User0224 · 27/07/2023 18:57

Omg so jealous of all you napping mamas 😂 I’ve been at an all day conference in the city, had to leave at 5:45am and I’m still only on my way home now 🫠

Highlight of the day was realising I needed the loo for a number two, running to the toilet between sessions and leaving everyone sitting waiting for me for 15 mins due to the goddam constipation!!!!!!

🤣🤣🤣 I'm so sorry @User0224 this made me laugh so much! If it's any consolation a similar thing happened to me at work. And the worst thing was people from the meeting were in the loo chatting and queuing while I was trying to go.

NOOOOOO omg 😂 I would have to flush myself down and never come back

DmcinT · 27/07/2023 20:45

Welcome and congrats @KittyKat1989 and great news on ur scan, pity about the bloods🙈 why does that happen did they say?

just wondering what all they did in ur 12 week scan, is it just measurements and dating? Feb 1st, a wee St Bridget’s day baby 🥰❤️

@User0224 absolutely take lots of time off when u can now and enjoy some days just to urself. I’m a teacher so we are actually off from end of May- Sept (feeling very blessed in these early weeks as I’ve been so sick) it’ll be a shock to the system going back😅 I’ll be roughly 16 weeks

KittyKat1989 · 27/07/2023 20:49

Thank you @DmcinT 😊
Apparently my veins are deep and move when prodded with a needle! Hopefully tomorrow they’ll get what they need.
The dating scan is just a couple of measurements (length of baby and the nuchal fluid). They also scan through the baby to check everything looks OK and look at the heartbeat. Baby was very still for me so she got me to move and cough so that we could see it moving, which was really nice 😊

amyg1985 · 27/07/2023 20:55

@MrsC2711 amazing tip! Thank you!

@KittyKat1989 welcome! Pleased your scan went ok and hope all goes well with your bloods second time round.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 27/07/2023 20:57

@User0224 yep hiding in the loo til everyone left them shamefacedly sneaking in 🙈 awful. At least I'm not feeling as sick, I'll take embarrassing symptoms over that 🤣

DmcinT · 27/07/2023 21:26

Oh girls I have such strong stretching pains tonight🙈 I feel absolutely huge. I’d quite a spicy dinner too which I think isn’t helping 😫

Hankthehonk · 27/07/2023 22:40

@User0224 Oh you poor thing! Hope you get a good rest after that full on day. Definitely get some holiday days booked in.
I really really hope that I feel better in the second trimester because September-December are bonkers for me work wise with lots of travel and several events that I'm organising. Many of the people I work with happen to be on holiday for a couple of weeks so I've got hardly any meetings and I am loving the chance to not be working flat out for once. My husband says this is what most people normally work like but I feel like I'm skiving.

Un7breakable · 28/07/2023 09:44

@DmcinT Same here, I've bitten the bullet and bought some 2nd hand maternity stuff. I'm too fat/bloated for my old stuff already.

Meeting · 28/07/2023 09:49

An update for those who are also suffering with constipation (as I know sadly there's a few of us)-

I spoke to GP today as I've finally gone to the toilet today for the first time since Monday and can't go on like this! He prescribed 10ml of Lactulose twice a day, hopefully this helps

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 28/07/2023 09:57

Thanks @Meeting that's useful I can get that from the pharmacist and have in reserve.

@Hankthehonk oof it's tough. At what point are you travelling to in your pregnancy do you think? I'm trying to work it out now. I've got several work trips in Sept and October that're already booked, but I got Gestational Diabetes last time and couldn't fly in the third trimester. I've already begged a swap on a Singapore trip later this year because I just don't want to do long haul for just a few days. Probably being ridiculous but it's right on the edge of second trimester and into third, and I'd be there on my own.

RainbowMama24 · 28/07/2023 12:06

I hope you don't mind me joining in this thread? 😊Pregnant after a miscarriage back in January which I struggled with emotionally for months after. We found out at the beginning of June that I'm pregnant again and had our 12 week scan yesterday. Such a contrast to our last scan when they confirmed there was no heartbeat 😔Currently 12+2 💓

Cheetocat · 28/07/2023 12:31

@RainbowMama24 Congratulations on your pregnancy and successful scan! I also had a MC before but now I'm 10+3 and I've got my 12w scan on the 11th if all continues to go well!

RainbowMama24 · 28/07/2023 12:43

@Cheetocat Oh that's wonderful news - congratulations! And the best of luck for your 12 week scan 😊

Hankthehonk · 28/07/2023 13:14

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 Hoping the last time I'll be flying is October, I've a trip to Dublin in December but I'm in Scotland so I'll drive and take the ferry. I'm determined that no more foreign trips will make their way into my diary! 🤞
Did you manage to get out of Singapore? You're totally right I wouldn't want to do that either!

Hankthehonk · 28/07/2023 13:15

@RainbowMama24 Congratulations on your positive scan! I'm also pregnant after a miscarriage and hoping I can relax after our 12 week scan if it goes well. Do you feel less anxious now?

Un7breakable · 28/07/2023 13:17

@RainbowMama24 congratulations

Goblet93 · 28/07/2023 13:18

@RainbowMama24 congratulations, that’s great news!

OurRainbow24 · 28/07/2023 13:27

hi ladies I have my 12 week scan tomorrow and suddenly wish I didn’t I’m so anxious as iv been suffering bad with constipation which has made me very uncomfortable and caused belly pains I’m just terrified now that maybe the pain had nothing to do with the constipation and something could be wrong iv suffered two previous MMC so my anxiety is definitely sky rocking I just wish I could enjoy these moments instead of fearing the worst

amyg1985 · 28/07/2023 13:47

@OurRainbow24 pregnancy is such an anxious time isn't it? All the symptoms that are completely normal have us second guessing.

I will be thinking of you tomorrow. I hope you'll see a lovely healthy baby!
