What are everyone's plans for finding out the sex? We found out with both of our boys and I just don't know if I can wait, similar to you @MummyTo4BoysXXXX 🥰

We will be over the moon regardless but there is something about knowing and planning ahead - especially the name!

We’re finding out via a harmony blood test this coming Monday! I’ll be 10 weeks on the dot x

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 25/07/2023 15:18

@User0224 ohh a girl! Well I think I would be very lucky if it turns out I'm having my first girl after 4 boys 🤣 I think with each child you have & it's the same gender, chances of having another baby the same gender goes up I think I have heard? Must be true for me anyways 🤣 a girl would be nice ofcoarse but I'm just use to having a boy so got it in my head it's probably another boy 🤣 100% boy mum! & yes I will be finding out don't think I could wait 40 weeks or so 🤦‍♀️🤣 I'm so impatient.. is that like a haematoma then? Hoping by your next scan it's resolved itself and gone for you 🤞 then you can get back down to business 😉 haha x

Haha oh really I never heard that about the chances going up! Well five boys would be epic anyway, no need to buy a whole new wardrobe either haha. Yeah it’s basically a haematoma that’s actively bleeding. Grim. I know right, fingers crossed I can unleash the friskiness next week 🤣

PeeBeee · 25/07/2023 15:56

@mumtotwox i didn’t want to find out this time but we did with my now 15month LG at 16 weeks and named her that exact day. Hubby is adamant he wants to find out and I will probably give in as I feel like I would want to name this baby early on too! Xx

mumtotwox · 25/07/2023 15:58

@User0224 Oh wow that is so exciting! 😍 What is your gut saying? x

@PeeBeee That is adorable. I honestly admire those that don't find out 😂 I have zero patience!! Let me know what you decide to do 👀 xx

My gut says boy based on absolutely nothing 😂

DmcinT · 25/07/2023 17:41

Just a little heads up as I found this out recently and was so shocked/annoyed. So pregnant women are advised no more than 200mg of caffeine a day. A costa flat white coffee contains 277mg of caffeine, much much higher than other coffee places (eg Starbucks is 130mg)

just a little fyi as it annoyed me that they don’t flag how much higher their caffeine content is 🫣🙈

Bali200 · 25/07/2023 17:47

I’m booked in for a private gender reveal scan when I’ll be 13+3, a local clinic offers them from 13 weeks x

amyg1985 · 25/07/2023 17:48

@User0224 I'm also convinced we're having a boy. No idea why.

@DmcinT that's mad re Costa! Today was the first day in forever that I almost fancied a coffee but will be steering clear of Costa if that trend continues.

Silverpixieflorence · 25/07/2023 18:42

@mumtotwox I'm 100% booking a scan at 16 weeks on the dot to find out 😂 I just have to know, I admire everyone who has a surprise at birth! Someone in my DD's birth club was told a girl at 16 weeks though and it was actually a boy 😅

@DmcinT 😱 that's so bad I've had a couple of drinks from there I just assumed they were normal caffeine content!!

MrsW9 · 25/07/2023 19:22

I remember reading something a while ago about how wildly the caffeine content in different drinks in different cafes varies. I've been sticking to decaf when out!

Konditor and Cook do a really lovely Lemon Chiffon Sponge with lemon cream cheese icing, which is four tiers but basically quite straightforward. I made it once using the recipe in The Times, if you have access to that.

MrsW9 · 25/07/2023 19:23

Sorry, this has bizarrely ended up on the wrong thread and I don't know how to delete it!

MrsW9 · 25/07/2023 19:25

Ah, I realised I got the wrong tab halfway through an answer to something else! But highly recommend the cake recipe in any case...

User0224 · 25/07/2023 19:46

@MrsW9 i mean that chiffon sponge does sound delicious…

User0224 · 25/07/2023 19:46

Sorry to be gross but has anyone else had bright yellow discharge? Like neon yellow?

Nemo145 · 25/07/2023 20:08

I went to costa the other day for a single shot decaf mocha. I asked about the caffeine, apparently there’s 3mg of caffeine per shot of decaf. I’m not really a coffee drinker but I do have regular caffeinated mochas when not pregnant and I couldn’t particularly tell the difference.

Hankthehonk · 25/07/2023 20:34

@mumtotwox We're definitely finding out the sex of the baby, hoping I can talk my dh into a 16 week scan. I'm 100% in the need to know camp.
We've got our names picked out and I'm particularly in love with the girl name and keep picturing the baby as a girl. But that's probably because we only have a daughter so it's what we know. Obviously I'll be delighted either way.

Cheetocat · 25/07/2023 20:38

User0224 · 25/07/2023 19:46

I had that for about 24 hours from the time of my internal scan yesterday until this afternoon. Never had it before, I'm thinking maybe a bit of irritation?

Cheetocat · 25/07/2023 20:40

Picking a name these days seems so hard, everyone wants to give an opinion. I like that some classic names are back in though. Also do you ever like a name and then realise you know a cat or dog called that?

DmcinT · 25/07/2023 21:13

@amyg1985 @Silverpixieflorence yeah I thought it was a bit mad, just wanted to flag it here incase anyone has them regularly.

@MrsW9 😂 that gave me a good laugh, I wasn’t sure if u meant it’s nice to have with the coffee 😂

@User0224 i get this from the pregnancy vitamins I take (Proceive) everything is neon yellow 😅

@Cheetocat as a teacher there are very few names left that I can tolerate lol

Silverpixieflorence · 25/07/2023 21:34

@Hankthehonk that's great you've already got names picked! We knew what DD's name would be before we even conceived but this time round is a lot harder as we've used our favourite. Doesn't help that DH only likes about 2 names 🙄

Hankthehonk · 25/07/2023 21:37

@Silverpixieflorence We found girls names harder last time and didn't settle on my daughter's name until quite late on. Our boy name is still the same as it was first time around!
When I was pregnant at the start of this year (miscarried in March) my dh came out with a girl name I'd never thought of and i was just like wow that's it. We talked about it again last week and we're both totally set on both names. Feel lucky but also missing the fun of name research I spent a lot of time on it with my daughter 😅

User0224 · 25/07/2023 21:41

@Cheetocat @DmcinT ah thats reassuring, thanks for sharing!

@Cheetocat lol a guy on my street has a violent XL bully with the same name as my daughter. So annoying 😂

MrsC2711 · 26/07/2023 07:33

We are all for finding out too…. Well I am and I’m pulling ranks on this one so hubby is having to find out 😂
I think if we had a girl we’d be spoilt for choice for names but if a boy I thinks we’d struggle. We’ve found an app that’s like tinder for baby names 😂 (it’s how we met so almost feels fitting… tinder … not the baby name app Hahha) you both link into it and swipe on names then it lets you know when you have a match and saves the names for you x

xTinkerbell · 26/07/2023 07:41

We are 95% sure on names. We had 1 boy name for DD if she’d been a boy and still love that. We’d also picked her name between 2 girls names so the second name is still a contender. I will definitely still be looking though

Was just about to recommend the Kinder app too! It’s brilliant, although I’m surprised at some out of matches!
