Congrats to everyone who have had scans💕
I did my first post last week, then Thursday I had bleeding and cramps like a period. Went to my EPU who took urine, booked me for a scan and gave me a booklet on miscarriages. Spent the last four days devastated.
But….had my scan today and baby is absolutely fine❤️wriggling and bouncing around. They couldn’t find what caused the bleeding. Baby is measuring at 11+5 so 5 days ahead of what I originally thought.

Age: 30
Baby Number: 3
Weeks: 11+5
Current Symptoms: nausea mainly in the morning and late evening or when I’m hungry. Very tired and easy to annoy😅
Current Feelings: relieved and very happy

Un7breakable · 24/07/2023 19:08

@Cheetocat @Cxjai792 congratulations both.

DmcinT · 24/07/2023 19:08

@Cheetocat and @Cxjai792 such great news on both scans, congrats to u both🥳 that week waiting mustn’t have been easy & preparing urself for the worst. Thank god it all turned out well❤️

Cheetocat · 24/07/2023 19:09

@Cxjai792 congrats to you! The unknown is just so scary!

amyg1985 · 24/07/2023 19:18

Congrats on the scans! So lovely that they are starting to look like little babies now!

@DmcinT we were told 7-10 business days for results. We're not finding out the sex as yet - it's an option we were offered for Harmony but my DH doesn't want to know and I haven't got the energy to have a conversation yet!

DmcinT · 24/07/2023 20:38

@amyg1985 oh wow that’s fast isn’t it. I actually had this conversation with my OH last night, I don’t know why but I just assumed he’d want to find out so I was saying ‘we can actually do a blood test and find out the sex anytime now’ and he was so shocked, he was like god no we’ll just have it a surprise.

I’m 100% on the finding out as soon as possible side so I could be left trying to keep it from him 🙈😂 if he doesn’t change his mind. Anyone else similar

Cxjai792 · 24/07/2023 21:11

Thank you everyone💕and good luck to everyone who have scans coming up!

Cheetocat · 24/07/2023 21:16

Thanks for all the support!

Mangotango39 · 24/07/2023 21:21

@DmcinT we were the other way round. dP wanted to find out and I want a surprise. I have managed to convince him (woohoo) 😅

DmcinT · 24/07/2023 21:43

@Mangotango39 haha yeah I think I’ll be able to convince him too, I think it would kill him if I knew and he didn’t 😂

Nemo145 · 24/07/2023 21:57

Good news on the positive scans ladies x

Musicalitymum · 24/07/2023 22:27

I got my 12 week scan letter this morning. My husband is currently thinking of viable excuses to have the day off work without giving the game away!

Age 42
baby no 1
weeks 10+3
current symptoms: The nausea has stopped now, just get queezy before tea time. Strong sense of smell. Eating loads! Oh and I’ve always loved drinking tea but can take it or leave it these days! Very surprised by that.
current feelings: cautiously excited. Feeling very round and convinced everyone knows but husband says it’s all in my head. Only two weeks to go now!

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 24/07/2023 22:53

Age: 27
Baby Number: 5
Weeks: 10+3
Current Symptoms: heightened sense of smell, not much of an appetite, feeling tired, get the wet/damp feeling downstairs go to toilet in a panick & its just clear discharge! (Almost daily) 🤣 sorry for tmi! & starting to get little spots on my face 🤦‍♀️
Current Feelings: been feeling quite frisky recently! Anyone else? 🤣 apart from that trying to take it day by day as sometimes I don't feel pregnant which is strange like I constantly remind myself by looking at my scan photos that so far for now everything is going ok 🤞 feeling gratefull 💕

We used to be dead set against finding out the sex of the baby but I changed my mind recently. We need to pick a name that will work in both of our languages so I think it will make it easier to pick one or at least pick some options.

Hankthehonk · 24/07/2023 23:43

Nice idea @Mangotango39 !

Age: 34
Baby number: 2 🌈
Weeks: 9+1
Current symptoms: bouts of nausea, sore boobs, exhausted all day then struggling to sleep at night, food aversions and cravings
Current feelings: I've been anxious all along after a miscarriage in March but since a positive scan a week ago hope is creeping in as well. Starting to think of it as a baby and allow myself to think about the future, even though it still hurts a bit

We'll find out the sex for sure, possibly with a 16/17 week scan. Thankful that my husband and I are both desperate to know, as we were with our daughter.

I’m the opposite, I’m dead down there, not even Dwayne Johnson could get life 🙈😂

Mangotango39 · 25/07/2023 06:16

I'm too tired to be bothered atm and also DP already saying he finds it 'weird' - I said he needs to snap out of that though otherwise it'll be a longggggg road ahead 😅

SnowyNoey · 25/07/2023 06:17

Really glad to see some positive scan news from people ☺️
Mines in 2 days and need it more than I could imagine. Have been suffering from a bit of depression these past few weeks and hoping that seeing a baby and knowing all is ok might help shift my mood to a more positive one .
Just got up from feels like hours of nightmares and night sweats and I’m balling my eyes out so god knows what they were about.

are we posting scan pics when we have them?

Ebonythoughts · 25/07/2023 07:52

Morning all.

Went to sleep last night with a headache and woke up with it. 3rd day in a row now, is this normal?

I also have a cold but managing it fine beyond the sneezing. Every time I sneeze I feel like my womb tugs and it’s horrible. Has anyone had a cold while pregnant and any suggestions for home remedies I can try? I’m not keen on medicine so trying to avoid any tablets.

Damp cold towel on my forehead helps a little with the headache but need to get rid of this cold as soon as possible. Feeling crappy at the moment.

Hey @Ebonythoughts in my first pregnancy I had terrible heads in the first trimester. I used a combination of the Forehead Stick and the stick on cool strips you can buy and if that didn’t work I’d have a paracetamol. Just try to keep it a low a dose as you can.

I’ve also got a cold at the moment which I’ve had for weeks and can’t shift. Just ploughing through to be honest. I had a paracetamol before I went to bed the other day and it seemed to help, but I’m going through boxes of tissues for my nose, it’s so gross 😷 Also, completely relate the the round ligament pain every time I sneeze or cough! It’s like I have to prepare myself every time 😅

Teatime32 · 25/07/2023 09:13

@Hankthehonk very close to you on dates! I had a scan last week and was dated a couple days ahead (and told it was viable and heard the heartbeat - huge relief!).
Age: 33
Baby number: 1
Weeks: 9
Current symptoms: retching! It’s so hard to hide from people as random things set it off, sore boobs, nausea which comes in waves and feeling so sleepy but struggling to sleep at night.
Current feelings: relief at the scan but a long wait until my next (I’m going abroad so will be 13+5)

@Ebonythoughts Sorry to hear this. I’d recommend lots of hot herbal tea and as much rest as you can manage!

Cxjai792 · 25/07/2023 09:21

@SnowyNoey have you mentioned it to your midwives? I suffer from health anxiety and panic attacks so midwives referred me to perinatal mental health team. Pregnancy is such an anxiety inducing time so that could be playing into how you feel plus hormones being all over don’t help! You can have some really vivid dreams during pregnancy too. Good luck with your scan💕

@Ebonythoughts headaches are normal but if you start having vision problems or swelling in hands/feet then get it checked out. All I was told when I caught covid in last pregnancy was rest, fluids and paracetamol

Hello All

Happy to join up here. I had my first baby in November 2020 which was obviously lots of fun with Covid. The MN thread for that month was a huge support as a first time Covid mum.

Due 9 Feb 2023.

Aah congrats @Cheetocat and @Cxjai792!!! Amazing news for you both.

@Cxjai792 are you okay? Must have been so traumatic being given miscarriage leaflets and processing all that only to find out all is well x

rainyskylight · 25/07/2023 09:29

Sorry I messed up the tagging there

Age: 35
Baby number: 2
Weeks: 11
Current symptoms: nausea, hunger, fatigue, low blood pressure, low pulse, occasionally a bit emotional
Current feelings: nervous

I have my 12 week scan next Tuesday, very much looking forward to but also quite nervous. Haven't done a private one. My DH didn't get to go to any of my previous scans due to Covid so he is really looking forward as well.

Currently feeling on edge though as I've had a few days of pale brown/pink discharge. Not loads, but enough to bother me. I've done my back in (moving furniture and a toddler) so it's hard to distinguish between different pains but I'm pretty sure it's all back and not abdominal. My blood pressure has crashed as well but I had really low BP throughout 2nd and 3rd trimesters last time. Soooo I have worrying symptoms but with very reasonable explanations. Just want the scan to confirm everything all ok!
