@EMHME congrats on 12 weeks!!!
We have told a lot of people at this point and I do worry but it's so hard when your this excited and going through this huge life event!!

I am sorry about your last MC .it really does mess with your head . I have also had two 😔how far were you?

DiscoBallEmoji · 24/07/2023 10:44

@man & @xTinkerbell my scan is on the 8th too ☺️

Age: 29
Baby Number: 1
Weeks: 9 + 5
Current Symptoms: Constant nausea but sickness has subsided, bloating and digestion cramping.
Current Feelings: Extremely oddly calm, almost a bit emotionless 😐

SmartiesParty · 24/07/2023 11:16

I just had my 12w scan with a bit of movement on due date. I've now moved into January as I'm measuring 13w.

Everything else looked fine as far as they could see.

I'm also going to see the Barbie movie this evening so will take the tissues!

Hayley0203 · 24/07/2023 12:34

Hi everyone! Just curious, those of you who've said you saw a strong heartbeat at the scan, what counts as strong? Are they telling you the rate?

Refused to tell me, just within range and 'strong'. Same for my son.

Meeting · 24/07/2023 12:59

@EMHME congratulations on 12 weeks!

@SmartiesParty congratulations on your 12 week scan! Exciting that you could have a January or a February baby now

I called my local pregnancy unit and was able to find out the date for my 12w scan from them so I finally have a date. Next weds so not long to wait

Cheetocat · 24/07/2023 13:19

I was in the hospital two weeks ago because of brown mucus on the tissue when wiping after a wee, they did a scan and saw a heartbeat but it was too difficult for them to get proper measurements or anything because of how small it was and positioning. They put me on progesterone and I've still had some mucus coming out the entire time. I'm going back in this evening to check if the pregnancy is still viable after all that, I'm a nervous wreck. I am 9+6 today and had a MMC at 11w last year. No idea how I'm going to wait out the next few hours, I feel sick.

SmartiesParty · 24/07/2023 13:35

@Hayley0203 mine told me 175bpm at around 7-8w and explained it seems fast but that's normal

I'm tempted to ring mine to find out but I'm 11 weeks so they'll probs tell me to wait 😂
My hospital seem so slow compared in getting the scans booked in!

Un7breakable · 24/07/2023 14:16

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 I didn't ask. They just said strong.

Mangotango39 · 24/07/2023 14:19

@Hayley0203
144bpm at 6+6
170bpm at 9+3

I believe my second scan is when it should peak then comes back down . They told that they are strong 😊

Meeting · 24/07/2023 14:41

@Sunshineclouds11 I'm 11+4, I'd have called sooner if it wasn't for the weekend, they were able to tell me it straight away I just needed to tell them my NHS number. Can't hurt to ask them!

Thank you. So sorry to hear you've been through it too. Unfortunately it's so much more common than I realised. I found out I had miscarried at almost 11 weeks the first time and almost 10 weeks the second (babies would have stopped developing a few weeks earlier) So this is officially the furthest on I've got, which is really positive. I'm lucky enough to have had 4 scans already as my EPU are stars (three routine reassurance and one to check after some bleeding) and everything has always been on track so I know there's no reason to fear the worst but you can't talk sense to an anxious brain, can you? 😄 Not too long to wait now at least, and the benefit to a slightly later "12 week" scan is knowing I'll be officially out of the first trimester. Hope all goes well with your pregnancy too. 😊

Congrats on your milestone :) your EPU does sound fantastic!

I am struggling today man……finding it hard to stay awake at my desk !

amyg1985 · 24/07/2023 16:21

Hello - I hope it’s ok if I join in. I have been watching this thread for a while but haven’t quite dared participate since haven’t believed the pregnancy was real. Long IVF journey… anyway, I had a scan today for the Harmony test and decided now was the time.

Age: 37
Baby Number: 1
Weeks: 10+4
Current Symptoms: nausea, primarily in the evenings. Constipation (lovely). Tiredness, but the steroids I’m on as part of the fertility treatment are not helping with that.
Current Feelings: small break in the anxiety after today’s scan. Often irrationally angry at my poor DH!

Un7breakable · 24/07/2023 16:53

Age: 35
Baby Number: 1
Weeks: 9+4
Current Symptoms: nausea, sore boobs, tiredness, massive bloating
Current Feelings: very anxious. Had positive scan at 8 weeks but the anxiety is creeping back in especially as my symptoms are getting better. First midwife appointment tomorrow and I'm hoping for a scan in the next week or so.

Goblet93 · 24/07/2023 17:01

Age: 30
Baby Number: 2
Weeks: 12+3
Current Symptoms: nausea and tiredness but the nausea is slowly easing off thank goodness
Current Feelings: worried about telling work as it’s a new job and I was pregnant when I started (found out the week after signing the contract). I’ve had my scan today and they’ve had to rebook me for Friday as they couldn’t get the measurements needed, so now I’m gonna have to tell them so I can sort that out 😕 on the bright side though I had my first scan today, saw little one wriggling around and everything looked fine from what they could see so that’s very positive ☺️

DmcinT · 24/07/2023 17:09

@amyg1985 and @Goblet93 congrats on ur scans today🥰 it’s lovely to see that wriggling about in person😅❤️ And welcome to all the new ppl joining, there’s a great bunch of us here🎉

@Un7breakable i know the feeling, I’d a great scam at 10 weeks last week and already I’m feeling anxious that everything is still ok🙈 I’m back on Aug 1st but it feels ages away 😂

I had my first full on puking today, went from retching loads (which I’ve been doing for weeks) to actually throwing up😫 went for a walk shortly afterwards and puked again along the side of the road 😬
i was reading up on harmony/panorama tests today, is anyone getting them done? I can’t seem to find a place near me but I think I’ll ask my gp if she recommends anywhere

Un7breakable · 24/07/2023 17:12

@DmcinT if the sickness gets worse speak to your GP. Mine was really bad at first and I still can't brush my teeth without gagging but medication has helped massively.

amyg1985 · 24/07/2023 17:18

Thanks @DmcinT!

My scan was for a harmony test (most places seem to require a scan before they will do the blood test). I went to the Fetal Medicine Centre on Harley Street, since that’s where my fertility clinic said to go. All very nice (with a matching price tag). Not much good if you’re not near london though and I didn’t find much outside london when I googled in the hope of something more local.

I think the NHS will do a similar test if you come back high risk on the combined test/scan. We just wanted it done early because I’m such a worrier. Does risk not being able to get a result because it’s so early though.

MrsC2711 · 24/07/2023 18:12

Good luck @Cheetocat xx

DmcinT · 24/07/2023 18:49

@Un7breakable I’m really hoping it was a once/twice off 🙈 but if it keeps over over the next week I’ll see if there’s anything they can give me when I’m in next week.

@amyg1985 oh sorry I missed that that it was for ur harmony. I’m in Ireland but I’m not far from Northern Ireland and it seems to be more common there so I might travel in unless my GP knows of somewhere more local. How long will it take for ur results now? Will u find out the sex?

oh @Cheetocat just seeing ur in today also, all the best, everything crossed for u ❤️❤️

Cheetocat · 24/07/2023 18:57

Just got out now, baby is absolutely perfect, measuring 9+3 and swimming around, heard a lovely heartbeat.
