So so sorry @Wise0wl - thinking of you!

Meeting · 22/07/2023 07:47

Just catching up

Congratulations on the good scan @DmcinT ❤️

@Clomid1 definitely have a private scan if you want to, mine honestly made me feel so much more at ease. Also not sure where you live but maybe check for a few more prices as my 10 week reassurance scan was £50

@Ebonythoughts glad everything is good with baby and you have some relief about the bleeding

@Wise0wl I am so so sorry, we're all thinking of you and here if you need advice ❤️

Hankthehonk · 22/07/2023 08:04

@Clomid1 Another vote for a private scan here. Even though I was anxious about it, it seemed a small price to pay for knowing where we stand and a bit of reassurance. I've done them in all pregnancies and never regret it.
Obviously it depends if you can easily afford it. Here in Scotland the prices range from £50-£75 for an early reassurance scan.

sherbertlemon17 · 22/07/2023 09:09

So so sorry to read this WiseOwl. Will be thinking of you x

Mangotango39 · 22/07/2023 10:02

I'd always go for an early scan. No it doesn't change the outcome but after two MC (one MMC and one drawn out!) I would rather know sooner if something wasn't quite right and opt for d&c .
This is just personally how I process it .

After my scan 9 + 4 this week (although not out of the first trimester woods) god I feel so much less anxious and sleeping way better!

Ebonythoughts · 22/07/2023 12:57

Thought I’d share my 11 week scan. Baby was doing cartwheels so getting a clear pic was hard… pretty incredible to see a little human that’s the size of a fig though 🥰 I think I’m in love 😍

Totally understand everyone’s desire to go for early scan, I’m 9w3d and been having different type symptoms today, heavy feeling uterus with few pangs every now and then which has got me worried. My partner thinks we need to wait for the 12w scan which is scheduled for 8th Aug and I wouldn’t go without him so guess I just have to be patient and hope the symptoms are all just normal. Anyone else had similar symptoms that are a bit period like at this stage?

User0224 · 22/07/2023 19:35

Congrats @Ebonythoughts what a gorgeous picture x

CrazyRosa · 22/07/2023 21:21

I would go for an early scan if you are anxious etc. Its expensive here (€120) for a 30 second scan but the relief is worth it. I'd love to be able to wait till the 12 week scan but I'm too impatient and I worry too much.

The bloating is unreal today, I look about 5 months pregnant. I'm going swimming tomorrow, so self conscious.

Mangotango39 · 22/07/2023 23:16

@Gardenfingers23 yes this week (week 10) and last week we're the worse. it's everything expanding. Don't forget that there is ALOT happening inside so some cramp and twinges is normal x

Ebonythoughts · 23/07/2023 04:54

@User0224 thank you ❤️

Meeting · 23/07/2023 08:55

Beautiful picture @Ebonythoughts congratulations ❤️

@CrazyRosa that's so expensive, and for only 30 seconds!! Mine was £50, lasted around 5 minutes and included 2 prints

Has anybody got their 12 week scan next week? Still waiting on my letter think I'm going to call the midwife tomorrow to chase it up.

xTinkerbell · 23/07/2023 09:58

@Meeting mine isn’t until August 8th. I’ll be somewhere between 12&6 and 13&5 (unsure of exact dates, I have short cycles and early scan dated me 6 days ahead). Feels so long ago! Booking appointment isn’t even until August 1st

OurRainbow24 · 23/07/2023 10:11

@Meeting iv got my 12 week scan on Saturday which I found unusual never had an NHS scan on a weekend before I’ll be 12 week to the day by dates but two early scans have confirmed measurements to be a day early

Mangotango39 · 23/07/2023 10:33

@xTinkerbell mine is the 8th too! I will be 12+4 🤗

Mangotango39 · 23/07/2023 10:38

On the last thread we did this and it was really nice to fill in for everyone!

Age:
Baby Number:
Weeks:
Current Symptoms:
Current Feelings:

Mine is.....
Age: 29
Baby Number: #1
Weeks: 10+2
Current Symptoms: Tired . Achy body. Some cramping/twinges.
Current Feelings: Quite emotional. I am easily set off crying or into an anxious panic. Blaming hormones. In general though I am quite positive compared to the earlier days after last weeks scan. I have an early GD test next week due to pcos and dreading that!!

Golaz · 23/07/2023 10:45

Is anyone else getting loads of bowel issues? I have so much gas, but also cramping in my bowels and constipation. 😫 (sorry for the TMI but wondering if this is just me and it’s something that I’m eating??)

Meeting · 23/07/2023 11:00

Ahh it seems like everyone knows when their scan is except me!! I had my first midwife appt nearly 2 weeks ago so definitely going to call in the morning as I'll be 12 weeks on Thurs and still no appointment.

@Golaz I've been exactly the same, it's been a nightmare to be honest. Someone recommended lactulose which I haven't managed to go and get yet but I found that having a caffeinated drink helps with the constipation.

DmcinT · 23/07/2023 11:33

@Golaz yeah I’m right there with u, I’m very constipated and just a real feeling of fullness like I can’t eat anything because I’m full of food right up my throat, it’s horrible. In the evenings I stretch out quite big and the wind afterwards is so bad 🙈 how come no1 tells of all these glamorous symptoms 😂

my 12 week scan isn’t until Aug 14th and I’ll be 13.5 weeks 😫 really wish it was earlier. I’ve one just with my gp at 11.5 weeks and if all good I might tell a few ppl after that, it’s getting hard to disguise at this stage I think 🫣 has anyone had anybody ask them if they are pregnant yet? I’m just waiting for it to happen.

Mummapenguin20 · 23/07/2023 11:44

@DmcinT my patners friend walked in poked my belly and said what’s this? I just laughed 🤣🤣🤣

sherbertlemon17 · 23/07/2023 11:58

@Mummapenguin20 Thats so rude but also quite funny. I hope they said it tongue in cheek!

@Meeting I have mine on Tuesday. Officially I’ll be 12+6 but I reckon I could be anywhere between there and 10 weeks because of my long cycles.

sherbertlemon17 · 23/07/2023 12:04

Lovely idea @Mangotango39

Age: 35
Baby Number: 3
Weeks: 12+4
Current Symptoms: Nausea (although this seems to have improved this week), a cold which I CANNOT shake off, burping, sore boobs and I’m starting to get the odd aches in my lower back and hips.
Current Feelings: Meh… I think because I feel so full of cold I feel fuzzy headed and tired, but I also can't get excited about this baby yet. Because it's my 3rd, and I've been relatively lucky with my pregnancies and births so far, I can't shake the feeling that my luck is about to run out. I'm praying for good news at my scan Tuesday, to put my mind at rest 🙏🏻

Mummapenguin20 · 23/07/2023 12:25

@sherbertlemon17 he had figured it out and asked my partner before hand who told him to ask me xx

Kelb79 · 23/07/2023 13:08

@Wise0wl sending you so much love, I’m so sorry. Everyone’s biggest fear. It’s awful. I was there with my last pregnancy. Give yourself all the time and space that you need ❤️❤️❤️

Lovely idea @Mangotango39 😁

Age: 43
Baby Number: 1 🌈
Weeks: 9+3
Current Symptoms: 24/7 nausea, bloating, trapped wind, cramps, dizziness crazy sense of smell, exhaustion and a random ocular migraine this week 😳
Current Feelings: disconnection and dear mainly if I’m honest 😕 I think it’s self preservation after loss and a long battle with infertility but my 12 week scan is on the 7th August (I’m currently scared rather than excited!!) so I’m hoping that will reassure me and change my head.

PeeBeee · 23/07/2023 13:16

Age: 33
Baby Number: 2
Weeks: 9+1
Current Symptoms: 24/7 nausea, being sick with no rhyme or reason, a million food aversions, the odd dodgy tummy, bloating, insomnia
Current Feelings: so anxious. Had a private scan at 6+6 and all was well. Have another one this time next week when I will be 10+1 then booking and nhs scan on 16th Aug where I will be 12+4! Not feeling very connected yet but don’t think I did with lg either this early as the worry just takes over! Xx
