@MrsC2711 and @Mummapenguin20
Same here, the closer the eye on me the better as far as I’m concerned.
As well as my miscarriages I had a previous preterm birth @ 25 weeks so I’m high risk and consultant lead.
she also mentioned foetal medicine too but I’m not sure what that actually entails. Will take anything and everything that will help.

DmcinT · 20/07/2023 10:56

@Meeting such great news, delighted for u🥰 I’ve a scan tomorrow morning and would love to hear I’m a few days ahead so I might be out of the sickness sooner 😅🤞🏽 So lovely that u can now get and feel excited after a tough journey to get here ❤️

AbsolutePlonker · 20/07/2023 11:17

Hi all, i'm 11 weeks 1 day today and my scan is this time next week!
I'm feeling extremely anxious and really wishing I'd had a reassurance scan 😣I just want to know they're ok in here! Partly I am terrified as I have my sister's wedding on the day after our scan. I'm really afraid we'll get bad news and then have to hide that so we don't ruin her day, or the day for my mum.

The sickness has been really ramping up to the point where I'm struggling to do my job!! I've been working from home this week but truth be told I've been having a lot of naps.... I also have a two year old and she's been extra demanding!!!

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 20/07/2023 11:23

@LalalaBubs seems like your 12week scan is same day as mine ☺️ 2 weeks today! going to feel like forever 🤣

@MummyTo4BoysXXXX
Thats so lovely! I'll be waiting to hear how it goes for you🥰
For now, wish you a very uneventful and easy time up until then (and beyond)❤️

BabyKing20 · 20/07/2023 12:09

I’ve just had my private scan this morning and I’m delighted. Measuring 8w5 with a good strong heartbeat.
From LMP I should be 11weeks, so my dates are well and truly all over the place. Can only put that down to PCOS. My first scan they couldn’t see anything and I’ve had some bleeding too so this was a re-scan and I was really nervous.
Anyway, back on track with a new due date , clarity and A lot of relief!!! 🥹🥹❤️

Meeting · 20/07/2023 12:18

Thanks everyone I really am feeling so happy❤️ well except my nausea has made a reappearance today and brought a migraine along with it, but it can't be all good news haha!

Best of luck for your scan tomorrow @DmcinT x

Congratulations @BabyKing20 so happy you're feeling relieved, I have PCOS too and it's a nightmare when you're trying to work out dates etc!

@LalalaBubs I might do that too, I hope they can give me the date for mine

Mangotango39 · 20/07/2023 12:23

@Meeting absolutely fabulous news - so pleased for you!!!!

@BabyKing20 pcos definitely put me behind , I didn't ovulate til cd23 in the end so dates match that rather then ovulating cd14!! Also spotting every few days , they couldn't find a reason. Must be a pcos thing😄

MrsC2711 · 20/07/2023 12:43

Well I never realised PCOS can affect dates…. I’m off to google!
I only learnt 2 years ago I had PCOS and endometriosis but at that point another pregnancy was not on the cards. It only took two months of trying which shocked me beyond belief but I am measuring about 6 days behind on private scans and 9 on nhs so maybe it’s something to do with that

Mangotango39 · 20/07/2023 12:54

@MrsC2711 it's because pcos can make you ovulate later rather then the stock standard day 14 which is what they usually base dates off 😊do you track ovulation at all?

theosmummy131117 · 20/07/2023 13:12

im 9 weeks and my belly is huge! I’ve been asked several times if it’s twins. Blooming nightmare haha!

BethanM18 · 20/07/2023 13:39

Hi guys, looking for some help.
I’m expecting my second baby 15 Feb 24, went for an early scan when I was expecting to be 9 weeks pregnant and they said I was only 6 weeks pregnant (moving my due date to Mar 24). I could see the heartbeat flicker. I had my first positive pregnancy test the 9 June 23 and it was a faint line which got stronger over that week. I’ve got a follow up scan Tuesday but really looking for some real experiences with this, should I start preparing myself for the worst?

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 20/07/2023 14:45

@Meeting and @BabyKing20 congrats on good scans!

@BethanM18 So six weeks ago would have been when you got your positive test? Did you track ovulation? If you tested positive at 8-9 dpo, then you're only just over a week out? There can be five days variance in measurements at early scans, and maybe you implanted slightly later? Or are 6 weeks and a few days. I think there are quite a few people measuring a little behind what they thought. @BabyKing20 did you track ovulation for example?

Sorry not to be very helpful, just didn't want to leave you not responded to x

BethanM18 · 20/07/2023 14:55

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 didn’t track ovulation.
Went back on my mini pill in February to avoid coming on my period for my wedding for March. Came straight off it after my wedding and started trying. April I had some faint positive pregnancy tests and then came on 2 days early, not sure if this was a chemical pregnancy. Trying to think of every excuse under the sun for it to be right that my dates are so far out, but I just don’t understand my dates were so in line with my first pregnancy and not right with this one. Driving myself insane 🤯

MrsC2711 · 20/07/2023 15:54

Ahh thanks @Mangotango39 . No tracking I just went off the Flo app as was trying to take a super relaxed approach to ttc so as not to put any additional pressure on me….. work and parents already cause me enough stress hahaha!

sherbertlemon17 · 20/07/2023 16:08

@BabyKing20 this is what I’m dreading happening to me! PCOS here too so pretty long cycles. By last period I’m 12 weeks, but in reality I could be anywhere between 10 & 12… I'm so hoping sickness is on its way out.

BabyKing20 · 20/07/2023 16:21

Thanks for all the lovely comments everyone. I might finally add my name to that list and join the facebook group now! I’ve been too scared to! Haha

@A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 No unfortunately I didn’t track ovulation, but without giving you all TMI, I can pinpoint the dates that we could’ve conceived and it looks like I must have ovulated a week before my period was due so it’s really late in the month. It’s mad how PCOS can mess with those cycles, but amazing nonetheless!

So hopefully @BethanM18 , it’s a similar story for you touch wood! The waiting game and not knowing is the worst!

@sherbertlemon17 It really confusing but I’m really happy to have the clarity now!! Hope you get some too at your next scan 🤞🏼

And yeah @Mangotango39 hopefully we can just put the spotting down to that too, blame PCOS for all of it 😂😂❤️

Nemo145 · 20/07/2023 18:10

We’ve just told 8 yr old DD about the baby as she’s asked several times why my belly is getting big. Couldn’t keep lying and then suddenly say next week “there is a baby in there”. She took the news very badly, I may as well have said Santa, the tooth fairy and Easter bunny are all made up.
She cried constantly for half an hour. This has absolutely devastated me as I wasn’t expecting this reaction and after all my losses I now feel very deflated with her reaction. 😢

Mummapenguin20 · 20/07/2023 18:48

@Nemo145 dont beat yourself up. Babies are a lot for the little ones to take in, tomorrow the next day or the day after that she will get excited her emotions will be all over the place just reassure her she’s still special make sure your taking time for you too everyone’s emotions are valid and matter big hugs to you both xxx

Nemo145 · 21/07/2023 07:08

Thank you @Mummapenguin20 I just wasnt prepared for such a bad reaction.

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 21/07/2023 07:53

@Nemo145 is she okay now?

Nemo145 · 21/07/2023 08:10

She’s spoken a bit about it this morning and given me some name suggestions. So seems a bit better.
Her main concern seems to be the lack of time we will have together and me being in hospital after baby is born.
Ive explained I will always make time to have some time just me and her and that when I’m in hospital she can visit and we will face time.
Thank you for asking x

Mummapenguin20 · 21/07/2023 08:43

@Nemo145 glad she’s feeling a bit better today, when I had my second my first told me to take her back 🙈 there now best friends. I’m now carrying baby 4 when I went from 1-2 dd2 arrived with a bear for dd1 xxx

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 21/07/2023 08:45

@Nemo145 aww so she's just worried about the change and her position bless her. That's lovely she's picking some names (hope they're nice 😅). She'll be just the right age to help with the baby and play with the baby etc when it's here.

Meeting · 21/07/2023 08:49

@Nemo145 glad she's feeling a bit better about it today. Try and involve her as much as you can so she feels part of it x
