Welcome @Kelb79 !! Gosh what a journey you have been on. Congratulations on your pregnancy 🥰🥰. So sorry you are suffering the nausea as well. Mine has been relentless and can barely keep any food down, but hopefully at 8+2 it will start to slowly get better soon 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻. I am also 8+2 so we must be due date buddies 🥰. This is DC three for me, I already have two little girls xx

LalalaBubs · 15/07/2023 21:15

Would be so appreciative of anyone who has any tips to reduce sciatic pain.

Im almost unable to move/walk because of the pain in my left buttock. Not ideal with a 3.5yr old and 1.5yr old to tend to😭

Cheetocat · 15/07/2023 22:25

I was able to eat rice noodles with tofu and veggies, a big win. I thought I was off food for the day after being disgusted by everything I saw in LIDL earlier today. What meals have been going down well with you all?

Hankthehonk · 15/07/2023 23:17

@Cheetocat All I want is crappy carbs, been struggling to eat anything healthy and feeling guilty about it! I spent ages making a chicken and leek bake then couldn't get past one bite, it made me feel so nauseous. I've been snacking on fruit and nuts to lessen the guilt and keep nausea at bay. Well done on your healthy dinner!

Cheetocat · 16/07/2023 05:19

@Hankthehonk Fruit and nuts are great snacks for you! You shouldn't feel guilty at all! My meals have been all over the place too which is why that meal was such a big deal. I'm sure we'll be able to enjoy our food more really soon anyway, I think it will ease the mind a lot.

Ebonythoughts · 16/07/2023 09:24

@Cheetocat yesterday was the first day in 3 weeks I managed to eat something that wasn’t plain baked potato or white bread with jam. Managed to have some steamed veg and boiled eggs yesterday which I’m taking as a win. I still can’t handle the sight of meat, chicken or fish but grateful to be able to eat veg and eggs now. Only fruit I’m having are green sour apples but nuts are helping as a snack too. Just nothing greasy or with strong taste or smell. I’m 10+4 weeks and hoping it gets better soon.

Ohh I LOVE the Wasabi spicy rice noodle tofu and vegetable soup - it's my treat that I get to eat for dinner after commuting into work.

I've found in the last day or two (I'm ten weeks) that I've managed to eat more things and more of them. Before that I was honestly eating upstairs by myself near the loo. And taking forever to eat about a third of a meal. And just grazing on crisps, crackers, grapes and apples at work as scared to eat too much there.

Meeting · 16/07/2023 10:01

@Ebonythoughts I'm much the same, have just been eating plain buttered toast most days. I usually love noodles etc but can't even stomach the thought of them at the minute!

Kelb79 · 16/07/2023 11:25

Oh my goodness! It’s soooo good to read that I’m not alone with how bad this nausea is!! I was putting it all down to the crazy amount of meds my IVF clinic have me on so it wasn’t as reassuring to me as it should be! But this has really helped me to realise that it’s my little belly buddy! ❤️
Ive been having a really hard time letting myself believe that this is actually happening and connecting with the pregnancy! Self preservation after loss and a hard journey, I guess it’s natural 😐

@Golaz yeees…. I’m the 22/2 too 😁😁😁 I love that as a date! I’m praying this nausea gets better soon, I’ve actually lost weight 🤦🏼‍♀️

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 16/07/2023 11:55

anyone got any food aversions? If smell or taste of something makes me feel sick or be sick, it just puts me straight off and I'm like "not having that again!" but problem I'm having is most days don't know what to eat like I can't decide, just don't seem to have an appetite!

OP posts:
DmcinT · 16/07/2023 11:58

@MummyTo4BoysXXXX same, I’ve no desire for anything really. I’m eating away but I don’t fam y anything or look forward to anything if that makes sense. I just eat because I know I’ll keep the nausea at bay 🙈 looking forward to enjoying food again at some point.

Kelb79 · 16/07/2023 12:04

Same here with the food aversions… absolutely everything sounds like the most disgusting thing to eat! Nothing appeals! Im living off crackers, toast and salty fries 😐 Trying desperately to get nutrients in but my stomach just won’t take it!!

Smells especially… even good smells… are sending me over the edge!! My OH has bought a juicer and is obsessed with making watermelon juice…. I’d have thought that would be great but he keeps a jug of it in the fridge and I literally have to hold my nose when I open the fridge now, the smell is killing me!! 😩🤷🏼‍♀️

MrsC2711 · 16/07/2023 12:05

Lovely news this morning. Baby there and beautiful little heartbeat ❤️ we’ve decided now that we just need to relax and enjoy it as these past three weeks have been bloody hard!!! @Kelb79 i totally get you and I’ve been the same…. Mmc and ectopic previously have stopped me from getting excited but now I’ve just clicked and decided it’s time to try and enjoy and relax!

hope everyone’s having a lovely Sunday xx

@MrsC2711 Oh I’m so delighted for u, such a worrying time, but the best news now and ur so right, it’s time to enjoy and get excited about everything. I was the same after our first scan this week (following a MMC earlier this year) I felt like those first weeks were just filled with nerves and anxiety (they still are a bit but I’m trying to tell myself to relax, enjoy it and really process that it’s happening. I think it’s hard to let urself feel like it’s real after a loss, u just imagine the worst all the time but like u I’m trying to switch that now 🤞🏽❤️ Sending all the positive vibes ur way x

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 16/07/2023 12:24

@DmcinT yes exactly same! when I feel sick I try eat something to take it away but sometimes it doesn't make things any better 🤣 its mental like with my last pregnancy I practically enjoyed binging on anything that was in my way! But this pregnancy I don't have that same feeling when I look in my cupboards or fridge like nothing tickles my fancy at all! But yet ive got to eat for little one inside me! It's like anything I eat just tastes bland like doesn't give me that "mmm could eat that again!" feeling just don't seem to be satisfied with food at the minute and I normally enjoy my food 🤣

Is anyone not sick at all???
I feel slightly nauseous when I'm hungry and before my morning cuppa but that's about it!!

Don't fancy eating pasta or anything creamy but everything else is fair game 😁

Me!

I feel it but know I have to eat and it goes!

C1E · 16/07/2023 13:44

Same here!!

I had about a week of mild nausea, normally in the morning until I ate breakfast (I normally have tea in bed, a morning walky then breaky but think the hunger made me feel sick). Off my tea so swapped for water and a biscuit first thing, eat breaky straight away and generally all good. Off a few of my very regular foods but easy to adjust to that. Also finding I want a lot more fruit and veggies

Think I’m out. Had an early scan again today and she couldn’t find the heartbeat 💔 😢

Un7breakable · 16/07/2023 15:28

@Danni33 so sorry to hear this. Are you going for a follow up?

Danni33 · 16/07/2023 15:39

@Un7breakable i have called and waiting on a phone call back, I don’t know what else to do. This was our first. I’m heartbroken. Just did not expect it

SmartiesParty · 16/07/2023 15:55

Sorry to hear that @Danni33 was it a private scan as it's not great care that they didn't support you there with what happens next eg rescan etc

Un7breakable · 16/07/2023 16:02

@Danni33 how far along do you think you were? It might be worth getting InTouch with the EPU and seeing what they say.
