Oh @Danni33 I'm so so sorry. Ask the EPU to rescan to double check. Just so sorry

User0224 · 16/07/2023 16:08

@Danni33 I’m so sorry. And sorry that they didn’t support you with next steps. How far along should you be at this point? Also suggest speaking to your EPU at least to get more context on what’s going on x

Danni33 · 16/07/2023 16:10

Yes it was a private scan. She was helpful and passed me numbers for the epu but there is no one answering calls there. Called 111 and got to wait now for my doctor to call tomorrow. Didn’t know whether to go to my local walk in centre and speak to someone there but I don’t know if I will be turned away.

moosey89 · 16/07/2023 17:16

@Danni33 I'm so sorry - this happened to me with my first pregnancy too. You need to get a referral to the EPU and they will scan you to confirm and discuss next steps if needed. My EPU you leave a voicemail for and they come back to you (no one ever answers the phone) so you might get a call back if you left a message.
Did she say how far along the baby was size wise compared to what you expected it to be? Big hugs, it's a horrible thing to go through. Xx

Danni33 · 16/07/2023 17:21

No, I had a scan at 7 weeks which was all fine. Measuring just 2 days behind. Currently waiting now for a scan, thankfully was able to speak to someone. Just praying for some good news.
thanks everyone too

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 16/07/2023 17:22

@Danni33 good luck

MrsC2711 · 16/07/2023 17:24

@DmcinT thank you so much. It is hard and totally agree with you just going to try PMA! Lol

so sorry to hear this @Danni33 . Hopefully epu will see you early tomorrow

whoever asked about sickness, I don’t really have it either!! Maybe a little every now and again but food stops it. Mainly dry food for me too.

x

DmcinT · 16/07/2023 18:44

@Danni33 I’m so so sorry, same happened to me on my first pregnancy, it’s such a shock. Really hoping for positive news for u on a rescan ❤️ Xx

Danni33 · 16/07/2023 18:58

Got to wait for a phone call tomorrow morning to see if I can have it done then. They didn’t do much at the hospital then. Just praying now but when I had the private scan she said it hadn’t grown either. Just awful

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 16/07/2023 19:05

@Danni33 it's so horrible, it's happened to a few of us also. So sorry.

@MrsC2711 I completely missed your news I'm sorry, that's lovely, so pleased for you

Tilly18101 · 16/07/2023 19:36

@Danni33 im so sorry lovely.

Golaz · 16/07/2023 19:49

@Danni33 im so so sorry 😢. It happened to me in my first preg too. Such a devastating shock to find out that way at a scan, and just heartbreaking. Be kind to yourself. ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Golaz · 16/07/2023 19:54

@Kelb79 haha I hadn’t even realised that with the date 22/2/24 😍. Aesthetic date I think it’s called.
Yep the nausea, food aversions, sensitivity to smells will definitely be the work of the little bubs 🥰. I can’t stomach any of the food I normally love 😭, it’s basically been plain crackers and toast for me. Although yesterday I discovered I can eat cheese and pickle sandwiches- the pickle seems to help a little with the nausea..

MrsC2711 · 16/07/2023 19:58

Thank you ever so much @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 x

Gardenfingers23 · 16/07/2023 20:10

@Danni33 so sorry to hear your news and hopefully you’ll get some answers tomorrow.

I have my first meeting with the midwife tomorrow, has anyone else had their ‘booking in’ visit and can share what to expect? I believe it’s just to ask lots of Qs and take bloods but not really sure what they’re checking?

@Danni33 so sorry to hear your news and hopefully you’ll get some answers tomorrow.

A lot of questions! Lots of Q’s about your health (smoking/drugs/alcohol) medical history & partners, if anything runs in the grandparents (but they don’t ask about anyone else it’s just your parents/partner and their parents). I got asked about my first pregnancy and delivery (emergency section), they’ll take emergency contact details, ask about work/home life like pets in the house.

they’ll measure your height and take your weight, urine sample & bloods with consent and will screen for HIV/Hep etc

they also asked me about my education and the midwife was clearly uncomfortable with this and explained it’s not mandatory but they are doing a data collection on birth rates v age v when you left full time education / I declined to answer as has no bearing on what type of mum I am!

I also consented to a medical trial our hospital is running :) they will run through with you next appointments, numbers to call, your midwife details etc.

sorry I can’t remember anything else!

Kelb79 · 16/07/2023 20:49

@Danni33 im so so sorry 😞 sending you so much love ❤️❤️❤️ look after yourself lovely xxxxxx

Un7breakable · 16/07/2023 20:55

@Tilly18101 did you get an appointment for your 12 week scan at the booking in appointment?

Tilly18101 · 16/07/2023 20:58

Un7breakable · 16/07/2023 20:55

@Tilly18101 did you get an appointment for your 12 week scan at the booking in appointment?

I did :) my hospital is old school, we are still paper folders of everything and she had my new folder with all my labels and dating scan all printed in it ready to go x

Un7breakable · 16/07/2023 21:02

@Tilly18101 I hope mine is like that. I got a phone call with my booking in appointment and log in to the badger app but no scan date. I'm not very patient.

MrsC2711 · 16/07/2023 21:30

@Gardenfingers23 medical history for you and partner then any family medical history, bloods I think are the main bits from what I can remember. Any previous pregnancies births etc too

MrsC2711 · 16/07/2023 21:32

Ahh sorry didn’t see @Tilly18101 response, my browser must not of updated. Hers is waaayyyy more detailed and accurate than mine lol.

9 years ago since my last one lol 😂

I’ve just had mine, only reason I remembered it - if I hadn’t I wouldn’t have as my last baby was Covid so my booking in appointment was on the phone and I can’t remember it at all!

@Un7breakable fingers crossed lovely, I do think you won’t get your scan date until you’ve had your booking in appointment so hopefully you’ll get the letter there or it’ll be on its way to you afterwards!

theosmummy131117 · 16/07/2023 21:53

I’m due on the 19th of February with my 2nd 😇

Cheetocat · 16/07/2023 22:48

I think I did myself wrong celebrating the big dinner yesterday, I was averse to all fresh food today except for some mini snack cucumbers. 😂
