@sherbertlemon17 oh haha I had a few growth scans and I saw it a few times. But that makes sense if you tell them in advance and if they think they're going over the area, they'll tell you to look the other way!

Silverpixieflorence · 12/07/2023 10:45

Had my re-scan, 2 weeks ago there was an empty sac, today there was baby and a heartbeat 💓🥳🫶 I'm over the moon as was thinking the worst! 🥰

We had the harmony test with my DD and they came back to say it was inconclusive. Luckily we got our money back but don't think I'll bother again incase the same thing happens again!

If all goes well we will be having a gender scan a few days after 16 weeks 🤍 I'm a bit worried as my little girl keeps saying she wants a sister 😅 she doesn't understand you can't pick 😅

DmcinT · 12/07/2023 11:07

@Silverpixieflorence oh I’m so delighted for u🥰🎉 that’s just the best news. Do they think ur dates are just a little behind?

i honestly don’t know how ppl don’t find out the sex😅 I just don’t think I could wait, just shows how incredibly impatient I am lol i looked up those tests here in Ireland and there’s lots of places that seem to do them so I must get it booked in 😄 so exciting

Mangotango39 · 12/07/2023 11:45

I have finally convinced DP to have a surprise - he wanted to find out!!!

Feb is peak summer where I am so they'll just be in vests anyway! (40 degrees!!!!)

I just think it'll be so lovely if he looks first and tells me if we have a son or daughter 😢I'll likely be drugged out my mind but still hopefully a lovely moment haha.

xTinkerbell · 12/07/2023 11:49

@sherbertlemon17 I have a boy and a girl. I was so sure my first was a boy that I’d have been so shocked if I’d had a girl. people thought i knew i was so sure. DD I thought was a girl but not with the same confidence as with DS.

Not too sure yet with this one, it’s been a bit later on when I’ve had the gut feeling. i’ll probably get this one wrong 😂

Silverpixieflorence · 12/07/2023 12:08

@DmcinT yeah measuring about 5 days behind but I know I ovulated late and I was the same with my DD so happy with that!

I couldn't not find out, I have to plan everything to the smallest detail so I just HAVE to know whether it's a boy or girl 😂

A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 · 12/07/2023 12:29

@Silverpixieflorence lovely news on the scan!

@xTinkerbell 2 out of 2 is pretty good! I thought boy last time but with no real certainty. I have no clue this time, probably a boy as we have a lot of boys on my partners side.

I'm 9+3 and suddenly feeling a lot better. Managed to eat dinner last night and lunch today. Still tired and bloated, but the nauseas gone

LavenderSweetPea · 12/07/2023 12:33

I was looking at the sneak peak tests earlier, and you can find out the gender with their blood tests from only 6 weeks! Gotta say it's very tempting to do that now rather than wait for the NHS scan in October!

Ohh I was gonna try this! But if you haven’t already, do look at the reviews on trust pilot…they’ve put me off completely 👀

C1E · 12/07/2023 13:16

Will absolutely find out, I hate surprises! Also I’d be worried I’d think it was one gender and then be disappointed if it wasn’t (not that I care either way!).

Also happy to wait for the 20 week scan. I feel like have a private scan early now makes obvious sense because it’s so uncertain and worrying, but gender isn’t at all worrying.

Oh dear, I've just looked. Maybe I won't do that. I'd be happy with either (although I'll admit given the choice I'd prefer a girl) but I know if I found out I'd get all excited about whatever gender I thought I was having and I'd find it really hard to adjust if it then turned out to be wrong. Maybe waiting for a scan is the way to go.

MrsC2711 · 12/07/2023 13:23

@Silverpixieflorence congratulations! The best news x

Tilly18101 · 12/07/2023 14:40

@sherbertlemon17 glad it’s not just me, we don’t say our names either, we kept our little girls name a complete secret and ending up just saying names we knew we wouldn’t use to family cos they pushed so much.

@Strawberry06 im so sorry for your loss, I complete understand wanting to know everything. I think that’s such a good idea to find out and keep it yourselves too, it’ll be so nice for you and partner to have that little surprise up your sleeve together

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 12/07/2023 14:57

Well ladies I have 4 boys already so this baby is number 5 for is & for me I'm going to wait until my 20 week scan to find out as normal, don't see point in paying for an early gender scan just to be told I'm having another boy! 🤣 but then again would love to be told at birth though as that would make it special but don't think I could wait 40 weeks! 😂

Alwaysconfuddled · 12/07/2023 15:10

I don’t want to find out the sex, the dad does. I will have a few fake names to tell people we are using if they pester too much, but I know from my sisters pregnancy that everyone has an opinion on names and can put you of one you like

sherbertlemon17 · 12/07/2023 17:21

Amazing @Mangotango39 ! It’s such a special moment, I mean it’s special anyway but for me, it adds to it ❤️

Just to add, I totally get why people find out and it’s a surprise regardless of when you find out really, isn’t it!

Sunshineclouds11 · 12/07/2023 18:06

I would love to wait til the birth for a surprise but I honestly don't have the patience!

Un7breakable · 12/07/2023 18:26

Don't have the patience for a suprise but will wait for the 20 week scan. Although tempted to keep gender to ourselves

Golaz · 12/07/2023 18:55

@Silverpixieflorence ahhh brilliant news on your scan 😍😍😍🤩. Congratulations 🎉 xxx

HappyHols12345 · 12/07/2023 20:20

We are also going to keep gender a surprise, it’s our first baby so happy either way. If it is a boy I would be really shocked as the last boy born on my mothers side was her brother and that was 60+ years ago!! On partners side there is a mix of both girls and boys.

PeeBeee · 13/07/2023 06:46

Un7breakable · 07/07/2023 13:24

Thanks for adding me @A1b2c3d4e5f6g7 .

Cyclazine has finally kicked in so no longer nauseous 24/7. Have celebrated with a Domino's cheeseburger pizza 🤤

@Un7breakable how long did it take them to kick in? Im on day 3 and was going to stop taking them because they dont seem to be working and making me extremely drowsy!

MrsC2711 · 13/07/2023 08:48

@GeriatricMumma ….. I was thinking about you yesterday. How are you getting on ❤️

MummyTo4BoysXXXX · 13/07/2023 09:34

@Un7breakable this is exactly what I was thinking to do, find out what I'm having at 20weeks, keep it to ourselves but make everyone else wait until the birth! 🤣

OP posts:
Un7breakable · 13/07/2023 09:36

@PeeBeee I noticed a difference within a few hours but even after a week I still get some nasusa but not as bad. The drowseyness tends to get better after a few days. If they are not working get back in touch with your GP

Musicalitymum · 13/07/2023 12:03

Hi I’m due the middle of February. It’s my first baby but it doesn’t seem real as only me and my husband know yet. I can’t wait to tell my family! It will be lovely to talk to some people on here who are in the same boat x
