Hi everyone - I'm back for a bit...

So 8 days ago I had a private scan that dated me 4 days behind (7 weeks when i thought I was 7+4) and had a really weak heartbeat. the sonographer basically prepared me for the worst. Today I went to the EPAU for a scheduled follow up, and there was a nice strong heartbeat but got dated even earlier?! (I'm going to have to assume that the measurement on the first one were off somehow).

Anyway - I'm now back in limbo for another 12 days until a follow up scan as I'm measuring way behind (12 days, should be 8+4ish but only measuring 6+6), but everything else looks fine. The sonographer was confused as she said if I wasn't sure of my dates (which I am) she would just have said it was a perfectly healthy pregnancy, just earlier on than expected.

Because I'm measuring so far behind I'm not expecting good news, but have to wait and see I guess. I'm not good at waiting and not knowing. God this is a never ending ball of stress 😓

suz2285 · 07/07/2023 13:07

@moosey89 sorry to hear you're still in limbo but 🤞🤞

Had our scan just now, measuring ahead so moved to 12+6 which is great as I'm now almost a full week ahead and 13 weeks tomorrow 🥳

Baby was being a little monkey though and wouldn't turn the right way despite walking and jiggling so I couldn't get the NT measurement which means they can't do the full testing 🙈 she did manage to get one measurement which was 2, and she said it is most certainly normal but cos they couldn't get 3 for the average I can't do the main testing

Which means I have the option to get the quad test in a few weeks which doesn't check for edwards or patau's only for downs and spinal issues.... so I need to call the midwife to get that booked in!

But scan looked perfect, baby bouncing around! I also don't think I can see a nub in any of the pics I got but have asked the nub experts hahah! We did get some cool pics of babies full spine though as they were back to front! And we seen all the arms and leggies and even the brain!!

@HopeAndStrength I should have been 12 weeks today but was put back a week when I went for my scan the other day. I feel so tired already today 🤦🏼‍♀️

Brokenpancreas94 · 07/07/2023 13:20

@suz2285 glad you're scan went well ❤️🌈

Had my scan this morning, everything is fine! Turns out the early scan that put me a week behind was inaccurate and I am actually 12 weeks which is what I thought I should be! Due 19th January 😊. Also congrats @suz2285

ChloeN · 07/07/2023 14:32

@suz2285 the same thing happened me to me at mine, but she couldn’t measure the length of the baby at all so I didn’t get a due date until 15 weeks🤣 I was a bit annoyed they wouldn’t rescan the next week to get the full testing but oh well!

@WhiteHorse92 fab news about your scan ☺️

ChloeN · 07/07/2023 14:46

@tulipsunday I have no expectations for it to do anything but I think I’d be annoyed at myself if I didn’t give it a try🤣🤣

@moosey89 that must of been very unexpected! It does sound more hopeful with a strong heartbeat but I’d be the same as you, the waiting is awful!

suz2285 · 07/07/2023 14:55

Congrats @WhiteHorse92 🥳

@ChloeN did you do the quad blood test? I couldn't have the combined screen cos of the no NT measurements! She did get the CRL luckily and so I do have a date 😂 stupid though... baby was flying all over the place 🙈😂 do you know if you're having a boy or a girl?

Jolayla · 07/07/2023 14:56

Im 17 weeks today had 2 miscarriages, got pregnant staight after my 2nd misscarriage and let me tell you it's been so hard. I'm an anxious person anyways but the anxiety I feel is unreal. I started feeling flutters daily from 14 weeks and all of a sudden they have stopped haven't felt anything for 5 days. According to midwife and others on here its completely normal. But yeah my anxiety is terrible pregnancy after a missicarriage is so hard.

ChloeN · 07/07/2023 15:12

@suz2285 yeah I had the quad test at 15 weeks also! It’s so fustrating isn’t it, I was really happy that the baby was active and healthy but I would of liked another go at the scan to have the full testing done🤣 no we haven’t found out! I’ve had people say girl from the nub theory but my 12 week scan was horrifically blurry I swear there was no nub😂 and now everyone says boy because of my bump but I don’t believe the old wives tales either 🤣

@Jolayla thats so tough I would be so anxious!! I felt flutters from around 17 ish weeks but they were so all over the place it made it easier not to worry, but I would of been panicked also if I’d gone from daily to nothing!

Brokenpancreas94 · 07/07/2023 15:14

Glad everything went well for you @WhiteHorse92

@ChloeN see I never believed the bump theory thing either but when I was pregnant with my daughter a stranger came up to me on the street and was like are you having a girl? I was like erm yeah and she was like yeah I could tell from behind 😂I was like oh erm wow 😂😂😂

ChloeN · 07/07/2023 15:21

@Brokenpancreas94 it’s random isn’t it🤣 we had a man come to measure up for carpets and he said do you know you’re having a boy 😂 I thought a girl was a bump all out the front and a boy more all around, and my bump is only really out front so it makes no sense 🤣

Brokenpancreas94 · 07/07/2023 15:24

@ChloeN I was massive with my daughter 😂🤷‍♀️ so I've no idea to be honest xxx

WhiteHorse92 · 07/07/2023 15:35

@moosey89 that sounds so frustrating but I really hope the baby having a strong heartbeat is a good sign, we've all got our fingers crossed for you xx

suz2285 · 07/07/2023 15:39

@ChloeN did the quad test come back ok?

I've just asked a few nub people but I don't think it's clear on the scans I've got either! One has come back saying girl, ramzi said boy... 🤷‍♀️

@Brokenpancreas94 well she was right! But that sounds really rude 😂😂

@Jolayla welcome, it's so anxiety inducing isn't it? I've heard there's no reason to worry about movements until quite late on, as they're so unreliable up until then! It's hard when there's no sign that all is ok though!

WhiteHorse92 · 07/07/2023 15:41

@ChloeN I thought it was the opposite? So carrying at the sides is girl and at the front is boy? 😂. When I was pregnant with my son one of my colleagues commented that I 'looked like I was carrying a boy from behind' and all my bump was at the front and my friend who was pregnant at the same time with a girl splurged out the sides 😅. I've also heard you carry high with a girl and low with a boy but I don't know if my bump was low or high 😂. The funniest was when I had an antenatal appointment at about 36 weeks and the student midwife felt my bump and said 'he's sticking his bum out, is it a boy?' 🤣

ChloeN · 07/07/2023 15:45

@WhiteHorse92 i just googled and I’m getting conflicting answers 🤣🤣🤣 I feel like my
bumps just in the middle so not high or low. I thought mine was sticking its bum out but when I asked the midwife it was it’s leg lol🥲

@suz2285 yeah came back all good! I can’t remember the numbers but it was somewhere in the thousands🤔

Brokenpancreas94 · 07/07/2023 15:54

@WhiteHorse92 I defo splurged out with my daughter 😂😂😂

WhiteHorse92 · 07/07/2023 16:05

@ChloeN with my son his bum and feet were both sticking out 😅. He was head down feet up but like facing sideways so I had a big hard bum on the right side of my bump and hard feet on the left side of my bump under my ribcage 😂. When I gave birth I'm not surprised his head got stuck, he was probably at some funny angle 😅

Brokenpancreas94 · 07/07/2023 16:53

What's peoples views on the ramzi theory? I did one for my 7+2 scan and it says girl 🤷‍♀️

Jolayla · 07/07/2023 17:43

ChloeN · 07/07/2023 15:12

I had the nub theory they said a girl. My gender scan a week ago it's a boy haha then boom movements stopped naught boy. Yes its very stressful ill be giving it the weekend and calling my maternity unit Monday as midwife is useless x

WhiteHorse92 · 07/07/2023 18:56

Did anyone here get told anything about the placenta during the 12 week scan? I've just realised the sonographer never mentioned the placenta position or put anything about it on the scan report but I've convinced myself in my first pregnancy they put that I had a posterior placenta on the 12 week scan report. Or is that not until 20 week scan? I was just googling Ramzi theory and apparently you can see the placenta early on so I'm confused haha.

suz2285 · 07/07/2023 19:12

@WhiteHorse92 I asked today and she said they can't tell at this stage, I thought the same as you the ramzi theory uses placental position but if they can't tell at this stage how can that be 😂
